Problem with customer service
Complaint: I have never received any federal student loan to attend any colleges. I have never received any type of billings or notice from any federal student loan stating that I owe for any federal student loans. My income taxes from different years tells a different story as to the moneys that has been taken in regards to student loans for which I had thought for the longest time that my income tax check was all being garnish by the state student loan. I've received a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX stated that I had federal and state student loan mixed up which was not the case at all .... These folks have collected over {$12000.00} for federal student loans for which I've never had. The documents enclosed are proof of my claim. Respectfully, XXXX XXXX

Complaint: Hello, I have made on-time consecutive payments on my student loans via EFT bank transfer ( i.e. the company takes my payment automatically ) for the past 4 years, and now suddenly they are saying my account is past due and trying to say I owe over {$1000.00}. My payments were around {$310.00} for the past couple of years and then in XXXX they sent an email for me to update my financial statement, which I did, and then for XXXX/XXXX/XXXX the amount taken out of my account was {$510.00}. I assumed they just increased my interest rate and while it was difficult to make the payments I just wanted to keep paying my loans so I didn't contact them. Then as of XX/XX/XXXX I'm getting emails and daily phone calls regarding my loans " delinquent status '' and when I log into my account its saying I've missed payments and owe more than double what my usual monthly payment would be. I have all payment history and statements and there is not a single month I have missed since XX/XX/2014. I don't understand how if the company is taking money out of my account automatically I could have underpaid or had a late payment and am now being forced to pay thousands of dollars.

Complaint: I've been making payments to Navient on a private student loan for the last 5 years. The balance continues going up. My mom who is XXXX cosigned and they will not allow her off the loan. I've been given erroneous information about allowing her off the loan. They have destroyed her credit and mine and I've called for answers, resolution and they will not provide any info. They are now harassing my mother at home by calling 15-20 times a day. I've fallen behind on payments and have called for assistance and I've been told I need to pay {$1800.00} and there is nothing they can or are willing to do to assist me. I desperately need assistance and a resolution to this. Please help. As you know Navient has multiple lawsuits pending for shady and illegal practices. I'm one of the people.

Complaint: I am being threatened by default proceedings by Navient over my school loans. My complaint centers around Navient refusing the option to enroll in the Income-driven repayment plan afforded students in XXXX. I explained that I was earning NO income. Another important benefit for income-driven repayment plan is that for the first three years after enrollment, we would have been entitled to have the federal government pay part of the interest charges if we could not keep up. Furthermore, in all discussions ( or attempted discussions ) they did not return scheduled calls. I was constantly pushed towards forbearance and when I inquired about loan forgiveness, they said I didn't qualify. I was forced to give up XXXX due to a XXXX case of XXXX XXXX/XXXX that prevented me from doing many things especially XXXX. This was communicated to the loan administrators although it made no difference. In XX/XX/XXXX, my husband ( who I married well after I had taken out the student loans was diagnosed with late XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX. The XXXX had spread to his XXXX requiring the XXXX of XXXX XXXX in his XXXX XXXX and XXXX him XXXX. My husband is unable to earn an income. We are relying on Medicaid and have recently completed paperwork to qualify for SNAP and cash advances. I have had to become his XXXX XXXX XXXX and since he has been placed in XXXX I am no longer allowed to work ( under federal law ) or he will lose his insurance. When he lost his job, we were forced to take Medicaid. Our only source of income is a small Social Security Retirement of $ XXXX/month and a Medical Pension he receives from XXXX of around $ XXXX/month depending on the exchange rate for a total of $ XXXX. We have had to sell items and rely on family to survive. No matter what discussion we held with Navient, they were simply not interested in knowing nor understanding they could not base his XXXX payments on a school loan payment for MY loan. IF I were to die, my spouse can NOT be held legally liable for these loans. I have, for years now, tried to play by their screwed up fake rules. I have called their customer service number too many times to count only to listen to a pre-recorded message that says to follow the prompts, choose the time and date when I would be available to receive a call back. So I would follow THEIR prompts schedule an appointment and wait with my phone in hand to receive a call ... .THEY NEVER CALLED! My full time " job '' now is to care for my husband. Physically, it is very demanding. When I have XXXX with XXXX XXXX, and my husband has doctor appointments, I have to rely on friends to drive him to his appointments because I am unable. Physically, I will never be able to return to the classroom to teach. I am in no position to be able to make any form of payment to Navient and this plea has simply been ignored on numerous occasions. I have written to my Ohio Representative, Mr. XXXX. He contacted Navient and they responded with a letter. I was NOT writing my congressman to ask about " requesting information to repay my loan ''. I wrote him to explain how their deceitful policies and misguided information along with our catastrophic health issue with my husband will not allow me to repay these loans. I also explained to Congressman XXXX that I didn't believe it was fair NOR ethical that Federal Congress people and their families, if they have ever filed bankruptcy for an illness or job loss, they ARE allowed complete student loan forgiveness. They also claimed in the letter they'd " attempted '' to contact me numerous times. ( NONSENSE! ) They can't even return a PRE-SCHEDULED call generated from THEIR system.

Complaint: XXXX has been non-compliant with removing the unverified account NAVIENT XXXX which has been deleted by XXXX and XXXX. XXXX and XXXX have both completed their research and determined that NAVIENT was not established by myself but XXXX keeps verifying this accounts. Also, when I called the company they responded that XXXX did not send them all of the verifying evidence to confirm each account is unverified.

Complaint: My Balance is XXXX Dollars, I have tried to get the Public Employee loan forgiveness and they stated I did not qualify, I am a state employee who brings home XXXX dollars a month, with Medical Bills and other bills it is hard to make ends meet, Plus they send Letters to My Elderly Parent 's Home which I do not reside at this gets them upset this is Harrassment on a new level and making calls to my parent 's home but Mailing them letters is un called for when they were not on my loan I am trying but it has been hard on me, I think a loan forgiveness would be appropriate since I was pressured in to this loan and was not given the opportunity to get a Federal Student Loan I had to file Bankruptsy 1. Mailing Letters to Family Members is Violation 2. Calls all the Time Day and Night 3. not giving me a chance to get a Forgiveness 4.This seems to never end with them

Complaint: I have a monthly auto payment set up for my account with Navient. Each month, I check to see how much was paid for the loan principal versus the interest. For multiple months now, my loan payments have been allocated incorrectly and a majority of my total payment has been charged toward interest. I have called each time, and the customer service reps have no been helpful. Most times, I have to tell them why this should not be, even though it is common sense that I should not be paying more for my interest since I have not been late a single payment and have paid additional amounts to keep the interest payments low. Last month, {$170.00} of my {$350.00} payment was put toward interest. The customer service rep said she didnt see the problem, even though the previous month I paid only {$14.00} in interest. She then said I usually accrue {$94.00} in interest a month. She still didnt see why {$170.00} was way too much for interest. I even looked up the interest calculator that Navient used to calculate each studenta interest payment. It took 2 days for my payment to be corrected. This has been an ongoing problem. I have contacted Navient at least 4 times about the same problem, and each month they take days to get it fixed.

Complaint: I have several loans in ibr with Navient. I was told that two of my loans do not qualify for Ibr and wont be part of the ibr forgiveness in 25 years because my income is too high. My loans are also split up and being paid off in increments instead of a whole. So some of them will likely get paid off before the 25 year mark instead of the entire debt being forgiven at 25 years. Until I spoke to the customer service I had no idea that it was not counted as part of my total debt and to the IBR calculation

Complaint: In XXXX, I took out a student loan to attend XXXX school at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXa at XXXX XXXX. I borrowed approximately {$22000.00}. I began paying back on the loan in XXXX. Since that time the loan has been bought and sold numerous times. I can not tell you what specific lending institutions had the loan during the past 19 years. Currently, my balance is over {$17000.00} after paying on it for nearly 20 years. I dont know how that could possibly be. I have tried on multiple occasions to contact lenders for loan and payments histories to no avail. No one has been able to provide this information. Specifically, I have not been able to find the original amount borrowed versus what I have paid to date. I have had no success tracking this down. The current loan holder is Navient. They have not been able to provide any relevant information either. I am reaching out to you to help me resolve this matter. I have had zero luck myself. I feel I am throwing money down the drain.

Complaint: I am unable to pay for my loan because I had to file a Bankruptcy and take an early Social Security of only a little bit over {$700.00} a month. When I do find a job The I.R.S. taxes me and I have to pay instead of getting a refund. Navient told me I could get a Repayment plan according my income. They told me its approved and the the next month send me a bill for {$700.00}. This goes on and on month after month and my loan went from {$36000.00} to {$42000.00}. When I try to get my I.R.S. Tax return information online I can not retrieve it .I am XXXX years old and am living on Social Security and a part time job of 15 hrs. a week .Every time you try to contact Navient you get a different individual and nothing gets accomplished. I am not trying to get out of paying my loan, but I do not understand why I can not pay a small amount and keep the intrest down. Illinois Attorney General XXXX XXXX has filed a Lawsuit against Navient and when ii ask them about it they will not respond. What kind of Options do I have? Respectfully XXXX XXXX XXXX

Even accepting Navient 's statement that these three loans defaulted in XX/XX/2013, the credit report still shows the three loans as " collection '' even thought they have been paid. following these entries, it says " account transferred or sold '' please fix the credit reporting by Navient to remove the " collection '' language.

Complaint: I applied for an IBR they said I would be in deferment until I got approved, I have not heard back from from my application XX/XX/XXXX they took me out of deferment and doubled my payment they sent me an email saying they wanted my income statement for the month and then said they didn't know what I wanted to do with it since I didn't send an application, I sent the application on the XXXX XXXX XXXX site with my tax return now the website is closed for maintenance. I applied for forbarence again to get relief I can't make double payments, they were not supposed to do anything with my loan until I heard back from the Fed student aid application process. Just frustrated I just wanted to lower my payments and get done I am XXXX and don't qualify for anything. Will most likely never pay this off I applied for bankruptcy and you can't include student loan

Complaint: Been on income contingent plan for years. Recertified my income contingent plans this summer and in XXXX of this year. Navient did not apply income contingent plan to my federal loans instead it was applied again to my private loan that has small balance. I received notification stating my monthly loan amount will go up to almost 2k and to recertify. I was confused because I already did this but I went to certify through my studentloans account again and was unable to recertify b/c it said i already recertified. I faxed Navient and email them through my Navient account on XX/XX/25 and i received an automated email notification stating will follow up within 24 to 48 hours and company never did.
