Complaint: I think that this school tried to attack me. 1. I did not qualify for the school. The requirement is a XXXX SAT when I only had a XXXX. 2. I failed the placement test miserably and got no questions right. 3. I could not afford first semester and my parents couldnt give me one cent so the school offered to waive some of it so I can start first semester. 4. The school could not place a hold on the tuition because I had no money to purchase a hold on the tuition so the tuition will not increase each year. I think they hurt me by preventing me from city schools or other city assistance. They did not start my first semester in any kind of XXXX level. The school only would give me XXXX XXXX degrees. The school prevented me from increasing my XXXX levels and did not offer options to gain XXXX skills to reach XXXX levels. The school limited my options towards success forcing me to only pursue XXXX using XXXX XXXX.

Complaint: I find it criminal how payments are handled. I graduated in XX/XX/2010and starting paying back the loans upon graduation as required. I have been using the Autopay system and often pay more than owed ( for example, paying {$140.00} instead of {$86.00} monthly ). My original loan was for {$7500.00}. According to my most recent statement, I have paid {$4200.00} towards my principal from the start date of my loan and {$3400.00} in interest since the start date of my loan. After fees ( {$13.00} XXXX for an unknown reason, I have now paid {$7700.00} yet I still currently owe {$4900.00}. Nelnet, along with other loan companies such as XXXX, have made it nearly impossible for me to survive. I find it unacceptable how payments are applied ( primarily to seemingly unending interest ) so that I will be paying on this loan for another 10+ years when I have already been paying faithfully every month for 8 years.

Complaint: My student loans were serviced by Nelnet. i recently satisfied the loan balance in full due to constant errors being made on monthly payment amount. i tried disputing the late payments twice in an effort to restore my credit score but to no avail. Nelnet was sending bills to a previous address which i updated as soon i moved. they also an old number on file. I've requested this in writing and over the phone. The payment adjusted by {$73.00} and when that ran straight for 90 days, they then reported it.

Complaint: I spoke to Nelnet on XX/XX/XXXX regarding the number of payments I've made, the total of the payments I've made, and how I still owe over half the balance I started with 6 years later. The loan started out at {$6100.00}. I've made steady payments since XX/XX/XXXX, at 8.25 % interest, yet I still owe {$3400.00}. I see that I was put on some kind of payment plan in XX/XX/XXXX that I have no paperwork on, nor did I agree to. It started a 52 payment term, and I have no idea why. The customer service rep 's response to my questions was " interest is charged daily. '' That interest amounts to about $ XXXX/day. That would equal in the neighborhood of {$1600.00} paid in interest over the past six years. However, their webiste says I have paid {$3300.00} in interest and {$4500.00} on principal. In addition, the Master Promissory Note is not available online in the documents section, nor is any proof that I agreed to a revamp of my payment schedule in XX/XX/XXXX.

The purpose of my correspondence is to see if you would be willing to make a " goodwill '' adjustment on the reporting of this account to the three credit agencies. During the time period this account was established I had was very happy with the service, I was however not the ideal customer and made mistakes with my handling of the account. I should have kept better records regarding the account and I take full responsibility. I became aware of the unpaid balance when I got a copy of my credit report in XX/XX/2018. I know that payment was my responsibility and I am not attempting to justify this breach in the user agreement, I was however hoping you might review the circumstances under which this nonpayment occurred and consider removing the negative trade line associated with this account from my three credit reports. As soon as I became aware of the balance I contacted DEPT OF ED/ NEL NET I consolidated my loans, refinanced my debts for an easier payment schedule, and closed all accounts paid in full. I provide this not to justify why the account was unpaid, but rather to show that the issue with my student loan account is not a good indicator of my actual credit worthiness. Complaint: Please be advised this is a copy, and paste of one of the emails sent to Nelnet. My name is XXXX XXXX. I officially feel at this point my civil rights are being violated. Since XX/XX/XXXX I have been trying to rectify a issue with the department of education, and the department of education/nelnet. Every time I try to get the issue fixed, and I have made over 30 attempts to do so, I just get blown off. After a divorce, I made efforts to better myself, and the lives of my XXXX children that I have sole custody of. In late XX/XX/XXXX loans that I was told where in deferment where evidently not!! I was not made aware that the loans where defaulted, I was not made aware that a outside servicing company was dealing with them. In XX/XX/XXXX, upon filing my federal income tax, all the money was torn from my hands by the department of education, stating the loans where in default. As if this was not bad enough, they still had remaining balances. I worked with nelnet, whom I was told was the service representatives, and I reinstated the loans. I was then told that since the loans where reinstated, and that there was a discrepancy in the servicing that my credit would be updated. I was not even aware that it was reported to my credit, so that was another blow! After speaking to them, I went online, and I checked all 3 of my reports. I was beyond shocked to find out not only was nelnet reporting defaulted loans, the us department of education was reporting duplication on the loans. This is showing now 6 defaulted student loans on my credit profile. I have disputed this with the credit reporting agencies on numerous occasions, and all yall have done is verify the defaults are accurate. They are not! I have also on numerous occasions done the same with nelnet, to no avail. I am being penalized 6 times on my credit, for 2 loans, that are almost paid in full. Please see attached showing the multitude of accounts, and my position. This is a clear violation of my rights, and it is doing financial damage to my, and my XXXX children. FOLLOW UP COPY, AND PASTE ALL INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE REPORTING. Please be advised as of XXXX XXXX central standard time today, I will be filing suit suit for civil rights violations. Based on my numerous conversations with Nelnet, and the factors surrounding my report I feel that it is my only option at this time. Nelnet has negated fixing their misrepresentation on my credit profile, obtained my credit illegally, has caused defamation, has violated multiple clauses of the fair credit reporting act, discrimination, harassment, and a multitude of violations/infractions. Below it shows the 35 % decrease on my credit report due directly to Nelnet. Without the infractions present my score, and history would be significantly higher. This is also now causing me a serious financial hardship, that Nelnet is the direct cause. The fair credit reporting act prohibits duplication reporting on same items. It also prohibits 2 separate entities from reporting the same line items. This act is violated on numerous occasions, with Nelnet going as far as verifying to the major credit reporting agencies that the information is true, and accurate. Basically they are verifying misrepresentations, as factual. I ask that this gets corrected today, to spare me the expense of filing a suit. It will not help my financial situation to have waste more money. This is being sent to all major parties, so there is a record, and a paper trail. Upon speaking to XXXX yesterday the person that stated they where in charge of my complaint I was informed that they will not correct, or remove as requested. They will leave the illegal, immoral, fraudulent, discriminatory information in place. I feel that giving this 2 years, and over 60 attempts I can more forward with my moral compass intact. Also please see below the damage to my credit, the primary FCRA violation. The duplicate reporting, is the second major violation. Nelnet over reported on the department of education. Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I received an e-letter from Nelnet regarding my income-driven repayment plan. The letter had relevant typos and incomplete/inaccurate information -- namely, the amount in which my monthly payments would be, the date they would begin at that level, and the date on which any interest would be capitalized into the principal. I called the customer service line on XX/XX/2018 to find out the information above. The agent read through the letter with me and said " I think what they mean is X. '' This explanation did not make sense to me and still didn't give me the information I was asking for. Regarding the date of capitalization, the agent put me on hold to ask someone else and said neither of them knew the date it would happen. I responded by saying those answers weren't helpful and she said " we work for the government, this is from them. '' I said, " the federal government wrote this letter? '' she said, " no, but this is coming from the Department of Education, that's just how they operate. '' It is not helpful whatsoever to 1 ) not be able to obtain the dates necessary to make payments on my loans or 2 ) hear the servicer blame " the government '' for their own mistakes or lack of competency.

Complaint: I am an evacuee of Hurricane Maria hitting XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. There was no communication, Internet or mail. My family an I moved from XXXX to XXXX and when I contacted Nelnet ( student loan agency ) they had placed my account into a Natural Disaster Forbearance which was for a 12 month / 1 year period. At this moment I am still under this Forbearance, I am in Good Standing and my next payment is due on XX/XX/XXXX. My dispute is that on my credit report is showing two 90-120 day late for XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. I need these lates to be removed from my report as it dropped my score and I am having problems to get a mortgage or lease in XXXX. I did not receive any email from them, they allege mail was sent however I moved and made change of address accordingly.

Complaint: I spoke with Nelnet and advised them that my loan keeps going up even though I was making payments each month on time. They told me that I would need to go into a higher repayment plan ( standard repayment instead of graduated repayment ) in order to have my payments go towards my principle. I am making payments now and am having the same issue. My payment amount is {$280.00} per month and I am paying {$300.00} and my payments are still not being applied to principal. I do not see how this is ethical. All of my other loans that I pay, I pay the same way, however, I am actually lowering my balance.

Complaint: My loan was being serviced by XXXX-Education for years and I was making automatic monthly payments on three loans. Last year, XXXX became XXXX and my monthly payments continued. At some point in the XXXX or XXXX of 2018, account information about only two of my 3 loans was available on the website. It was unclear to me if I had paid off the third loan, as I did not receive any such notice. I sent in an email requesting information, and I never received a response. Today I attempted to login to the website, and it indicated that my loans were no longer being serviced by XXXX and that I should contact the new servicer. I have not received any information about a new servicer. I tried to call XXXX, and the message says they closed on XX/XX/2018 and to contact the new servicer. Again, I have no idea who the new servicer is or how to find out. I am concerned that I may be missing payments and that my credit will be affected.
