Complaint: Navy Federal CU from XX/XX/2015 through now continues to take the stance that my checking account was ovedrawn by {$4000.00} as a result of returned ach deposits. This is 100 % not true. I have the documentation as well as statements from the other bank ( s ) involved that substantiate this. In addition, the issue was further exasperated by the fact that they blocked internet access to my account which meant I could not monitor the situation as it developed and that I did n't know that they cancelled my mortgage payment. In a prior response from NFCU they reference XXXX ach w/d. There were XXXX. Nonetheless, the issue comes down to this- Over the course of several months, I initiated XXXX ach payments, and I have proof that XXXX were paid from the other institutions. After diligent and painstaking research on my part, I have come to understand how NFCU made the mistake. When I made the payment on NF website, they would credit my account for it. If the other institutions said after that the payment was no good, they would remove that from my NF account which makes total sense. In several cases, the othe bank would retry the payment ( that originally was reported as no good to NF ) and successfully complete the transfer. When that happened it would be taken out of my other bank account yet NF would never give me credit in my account for that amount. Again, I did not realize this for quite some time since i was not able to log into the account. I assumed I was getting proper credit. To illustrate what I mean, please consider the following example- I have a balance in my NF account of {$2000.00}. I make a deposit on NF website for {$1000.00}. They credit me and my balance becomes {$3000.00}. A day or so later the other bank where the ach was being pulled from tells NF that the payment was not succesfull so NF takes that {$1000.00} from my balance and it goes back to {$2000.00}. Several times however, the other bank tried to send the money again to NF ( same request that they denied before ) and it was succesfull. In that case, Navy should credit my account back the {$1000.00} but they did n't for whatever reason. The net result my NF account was never credited back {$4000.00} from payments that were initially denied but then paid. Further, the was blocked and a mortgage payment cancelled unbeknownst to me.

Complaint: My mortgage was due on XX/XX/2016. I was behind due to illness from family and was working overtime to pay. I just got paid on XX/XX/XXXX and was behind in utility bills, so I paid those bills and with next paycheck to be directly deposited on XX/XX/2016 I was going to pay my mortgage. To my surprise Navy Federal went into my checking account and debit my mortgage payment, without authorization from me or my husband. When I called the about it, I was told if my mortgage was 16 days past due, they had the right to go in and take my funds from my account, with no notification. Told me they had control over funds in my account and my account could be frozen with no access granted. I have been struggling to pay, but have paid. This will result in my other bills not paid, like utility, food. I could not believe they would do this, without authorization.

Complaint: Navy Federal Credit Union withdrew from my account savings/checking to resolve an outstanding credit payment. I had full intention of paying such balance, but was no informed of any deduction that would take place or a call to submit a promissory note for payment. Navy Federal states that it is part of their credit contract to do such deductions. I was not aware of any section in the contract that was clearly visible that any such deduction could occur. I have also noticed a trend of certain deductions from my account being made while the payment is still pending and then a second deduction when the payment is cleared. I am fully aware of the fraudulent activity that has been happening with Navy Federal recently and I have grown concerned over they 're honesty and ability to maintain accounts properly.
