Debt is not yours
Complaint: Midwest Recovery Systems is practicing illegally in North Carolina. I have submitted a compliant with NC Department of Insurance as well as the NC Attorney General 's office because for some time I have been fighting the Credit Bureau about Midwest Recovery Systems BOGUS and FRADULENT based account on my credit report.
I have sent several messages to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX about the fraudulent PAYDAY LOAN Account ( per the credit report the company is a PAYDAY LOAN Company ). After much research and back and forth with the bureaus, I found that Midwest Recovery is not even licensed as a Collection Agency in North Carolina and they have placed this FRADULENT account on my credit report since 1st Quarter of this year. Midwest is saying I had a payday loan from a company XXXX XXXX XXXX that is not even in business when I researched the company for information. ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX The attachments will show you they are not licensed here in North Carolina, it will also show you the company they claim I owe is not in business. I have also included the link below that I am not the only one they are doing this too.
The credit Bureau keep saying verified for FRADULENT information. Please not only investigate them but stop them from doing this to others in our state but other states.

Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Complaint: A company called Midwest Recovery System is not providing me with validation that I owe them any money. They are reporting that I have an unpaid debt with them of {$1200.00} but I have never done business with them and I have never received any letters or notices from them. Why did they not send me a notice of my right to dispute this debt before they reported it to my credit? The account number on my credit is : " XXXX ''. I only found out there was an account on my credit report when I checked my credit recently and it was pointed out that I had a collection. I 've done some research online and I have only come across negative reviews and complaints by other consumers who have been harassed and scammed by this company. I will not give my money to a company I do not recognize and who will not tell me why they want me to pay them.

Account information incorrect
Complaint: Opened a pay day loan in XXXX with XXXX. Had several before and paid them all off when payment was required. The last one I took out in XXXX, I was unable to pay back at the time due to hardship. They sent it to collections and kept transferring it from one collection agency to another. In XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX called me and I was finally able to pay it back. They told me they owned the XXXX loan now and we negotiated a settlement in good faith. I sent a certified check in the amound of {$800.00} and it was paid in full and satisfied. Letter attached. Over the years several other companies call me and want to collect on the same exact debt. I fax them the paid in Full letter and they leave me alone. Well, this awful company, Midwest Recovery Systems, LLC, never called or emailed me or anything. They just opened a collection entry on all of my credit reports. I called them immediately very upset and sent them by fax and email the paid in full letter and every time I call them, they say they never received it and I feel this will never get taken care of. Please help. They are scammers and I did pay it off in good faith. These companies just keep selling old debt even if it 's paid in full. I called XXXX this past Monday and they verified with me that this is the same account number that Midwest Recovery Systems is trying to collect on. Please help get rid of these scammers and fraudsters. Thank you. XXXX XXXX

Complaint: Midwest Recovery Systems never sent me a letter regarding alleged debt. This VIOLATES the FDCPA. They fictitiously reported to credit bureaus that I owed XXXX dollars to a business named XXXX XXXX XXXX. Once again, this violates the FDCPA. I have never done business with XXXX XXXX XXXX nor applied for a loan with them. I contacted credit bureaus and disputed. XXXX and XXXX are no longer reporting this fictitious account. XXXX continues to report because Midwest Recovery Systems continues to report this fictitious account to them. This is another violation of the FDCPA. This is nothing more than an attempt to extort money. Furthermore, payday loans have been illegal in the State of Arizona since XXXX XXXX, 2010 according to the Arizona Attorney General.

Debt was paid
Complaint: I was admitted into the XXXX Medical Center Emergency Room on XX/XX/XXXX using my insurance through XXXX XXXX. A few months later, the doctor attempted to bill me through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I called XXXX XXXX who informed me that they had sent payment and that the check was never cashed. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX who I put into contact with my insurance company to settle the issue. I was assured the issue was settled and had forgotten about it until last year. I noticed a collections account had showed up on my credit report by a company called XXXX XXXX XXXX. I had called them and found the debt was resulting from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX claiming they had not been paid. I was told the account had been sold to another company and it would come of my credit report shortly. I was never notified by phone or mail that this debt existed except for the original bill in XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, the account once again showed up on my credit report through XXXX XXXX XXXX. I called XXXX XXXX and inquired about this bill to which they confirmed that the check sent to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX several years ago had once again never been cashed. They said they would send a check out immediately for payment. I called XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX and they had confirmed the check was sent. I then contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX who told me that the matter was no longer controlled by their accounts receivable, but by the debt collector. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX and was bounced from person to person over the phone. One person told me it looked like a payment had been made, but they could not tell me how much or what the remaining balance was. I asked for an invoice of the account and they agreed to send it to me. I gave them both my email and updated address, but still recieved no statement. I called again a week later and was given the run around once again with a promise of an invoice, but no reconciliation. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I was called by XXXX XXXX XXXX and advised that the debt needed to be payed today to avoid them having to tell " their client '' ( I assume XXXX XXXX, but they would n't tell me ) that I was defaulting on the debt. I asked once again for an invoice, but was brushed off as the operator insinuated that it did not matter. It seems time and time again as the debt collection employees are very nice until I tell them that the debt is invalid in which case they became very confrontational and attempt to get me to pay them anyway. Why would I pay for a debt that I can not even confirm with an invoice? I would really just like to get this sorted out between the three parties, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: On XXXX XXXX I filed a complaint- reference number XXXX against MIDWEST RECOVERY SYSTEMS. In their response to the CFPB regarding this matter they indicated that and I quote, '' Additionally, in this instance a record for deletion has been sent to all XXXX credit reporting agencies. '' On XXXX XXXX, it was brought to my attention that this account is still being reporting to XXXX and this occurrence has been verified by XXXX customer service agents of XXXX On that same date, I contacted Midwest Recovery Systems and I was given an elaborated reason by some XXXX XXXX as to why this account is still reflecting on my credit report. This morning on XXXX XXXX, I call Midwest Recovery Systems and spoke to a XXXX XXXX and I feel that I am being giving the run around. Now I am filing this follow complaint against the Midwest Recovery Systems for clearly providing false information to the CFPB. It seems evident that they have no problem providing false information to a federal institution. This attitude of theirs is further evident in their total disregard of the federal statutes of the FCRA that binds them. The latter is perhaps a reason why I have never received a debt validation notice from them since I started communicating with them. More importantly, after sending them a certified mail requesting for validation of the debt as indicating in my previous complaint they continue to report this account to XXXX and I am yet to receive any response to my debt validation request.
