Complaint: I received a letter on XX/XX/2019 that was dated XX/XX/2019 stating that I owe {$2600.00} Before I even opened this letter, I knew that this letter was for a debt collection. The neighbor that received my mail by accident also made a comment about the fact that this letter was from a collection agency, also without opening the letter. In today 's day in age, people are nosy and almost everyone has access to the internet. I have attached a picture that shows the collection agency 's name and address right on the front of the letter in the address fields. Since I am a debt collections manager myself, I know that this is illegal due to third party disclosure laws that are regulated through the FDCPA protection laws. It's very easy for someone to XXXX the company listed on the letter in order to see that it is a collection agency sending the letter which in turn discloses that I may have a debt with that agency, as there aren't other many reasons for such a letter to be sent by that type of company. Since this company handles many types of debt, it's a pretty popular one that many people know about and some people may not even have to XXXX it to figure that much out. This embarrassing issue is one that no debtor deserves to go through since there are so many laws that prevent such practices that divulge the fact that I have dealings with a collection agency to people other than the one that owes the debt. Also, since the letter took so long to get here, it's possible more than just my neighbor now knows about my personal business matters are with a collection agency. This issue is not only not acceptable due to morality issues, it is illegal. Also there have been agencies in the past that have had major lawsuits dealing with this exact issue. Those cases outcomes are what helped cause the laws to be the way they are now. I will consider not perusing legal action against MRS if they are willing to rectify this situation by paying my account off, in full, in the month of XXXX. Compared to the potential consequences and costs of this going to civil court, this option would be a much cheaper and less damaging to the company 's reputation. If this issue is not dealt with by the company appropriately, I will have little choice but to take further actions in order to get compensated for the humiliation I experienced caused by this agency 's negligence of ensuring that my PERSONAL business matters remain private and not displayed for the public to see.

Complaint: I had 2 accounts with XXXX, my local electric company. I was behind on one but trying to pay the other. I contacted XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX to make a payment. They said I needed to pay XXXX . I asked if that included the other account balance because it seemed an unusually high payment. The representative told me yes, when my other service was discontinued the balance was transferred to this account, so I authorized an electronic check over the phone for XXXX . When I applied for a mortgage on XX/XX/XXXX I was told a collections account had just been reported on my credit report that day from MRS BPO for XXXX and my score had dropped 90 points disqualifying me for my mortgage. I had checked my credit report XX/XX/XXXX and there was no collections activity reported. I contacted MRS BPO where representative XXXX XXXX told me they had no record of an account for me. I contacted XXXX and explained I was informed this debt had been included in my XXXX $ payment. XXXX said " they were sorry I had received misinformation from their representative, but the debt was not included and they werent certain if the error could be deleted from my credit report '' and I should contact MRS BPO again. I contacted MRS BPO a second time and representative XXXX XXXX now said I did have a collections account with them but they did not have a policy of deleting information from credit reports even if the account was placed in collections in error as a result of misinformation on the part of the original creditor, and I should contact XXXX to resolve the issue. I contacted XXXX a second time and explained MRS BPO did not have a policy of deleting information from credit reports and I should contact XXXX about the issue. XXXX said they would withdraw the account from MRS BPO so I could pay the XXXX $ balance with another electronic check, and they would contact and explain the issue to MRS BPO and call me back. This was all on XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX XXXX contacted me to report they had emailed MRS BPO and explained the account was placed in error as a result of XXXX providing me misinformation. XXXX also reported MRS BPO had agreed that on Friday XX/XX/XXXX in their weekly update to the credit bureaus they would indicate the account was paid in full and they would include a comment on my report stating the collection account was placed in error, but would not delete it. Having just checked my credit report neither of these actions occurred. Information for both companies is as follows : MRS BPO, L.L.C. Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I switched my cell phone service from XXXX ( account # XXXX invoice # XXXX ) to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I cancelled my XXXX service on that day. I received an additional bill on about XX/XX/2019. I called ( XXXX ) XXXX ) and discussed the bill with a XXXX representative on that day at XXXX XXXX.. He told me that this bill was for the entire next billing period and since I did not have the service for the entire month a final pro-rated bill would be sent. I waited for the final pro rated bill however on XX/XX/2019 at XXXX XXXX. a representative from MRS collections called and insisted that I pay the bill in full immediately. I told her that I would pay the entire {$77.00} through my bill-pay as I have for the past 20 years that I have been with XXXX. She said that I owed this full amount so I sent the payment for {$77.00} through my XXXX XXXX bill pay on that day ( XX/XX/2019 ). She said this would settle the matter and I would not be contacted again. On XX/XX/2019 my wife received a call on her cell phone ( XXXX ) XXXX from another collections agent at MRS Collections at XXXX XXXX. and once again I was told that this payment must be made right away. I informed this agent that this matter was settled on XX/XX/2019 and the full payment had been made. The MRS representative insisted that I must prove that this was settled. I asked that I not be contacted by phone by MRS Collections again. She agreed however on XX/XX/2019 at XXXX XXXX., once again I was contacted by phone by a representative of MSR Collections insisting that I owed this XXXX bill. I informed her that this bill was paid and I had requested not to be contacted twice before regarding this issue and she acknowledged that I had requested not to be contacted.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I started receiving dozens of phone calls from XXXX at all hours of the day. No one would ever be on the other end and when I called back they would just hang up on me. After doing some research I found the number belonged to a collection agency named MRS . Through their website I was able to find their fax number and on XX/XX/2019 I faxed them a letter demanding they stop calling me and if they are collecting a debt to validate the debt via mail. So far they have refused to validate the debt.

Complaint: XX/XX/19 : Paid XXXX XXXX what should have been my final bill but still received a subsequent bill. XX/XX/19 : Switched from XXXX XXXX to new service. XX/XX/19 : Returned all XXXX equipment to them. XX/XX/19 : Received final XXXX Bill. Called immediately to dispute charges but was unable to get immediate assistance. XX/XX/19: Took the day off from work and was finally able to reach a representative who explained the bill. Still didn't agree with the explanation but we could not come to an amicable agreement. I explained that my contract buyout was in process and that I would pay the bill by XX/XX/2019. XX/XX/19 : Received email notice from MRS BPO , LLC, XXXX had assigned them the account. MRS BPO provided 2 payment options. I opted to make 2 payments of {$220.00} due XX/XX/19 and XX/XX/19. I made my first payment XX/XX/19. XX/XX/19 : Called MRS BPO to clarify payment agreement because I received a notice which stated the option I chose would not pay the bill in full. Representative said the option had expired on XX/XX/19 but there is nothing in their records that shows this and the rep agreed to accept the final payment. She assured me that my bill would be paid in full and accepted my credit card payment by phone. 15 minutes later I receive notification that she placed the account on my Credit Record. It dropped my credit score by 54 points. I am in the process of buying my retirement home and this can either impact my interest rate or lead to me being denied for a mortgage all together.
