Not given enough info to verify debt
Complaint: To Whom It May Concern, On or around XXXX XXXX, 2016, I received a debt collection notice from MRS Associates of New Jersey alleging I owed {$250.00}. An amount they claim was incurred from a XXXX XXXX account. MRS Associates proceeded to furnish this negative information to the XXXX major credit reporting bureau, XXXX, on or around XXXX XXXX, 2016. On XXXX XXXX, less than 30 days after receiving notice from MRS Associates , I sent a notice of dispute and request for validation, pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Report Act, via U.S XXXX Postal Service Certified Mail with return receipt. On or around XXXX XXXX, 2016 MRS Associate 's employee received my notice of dispute and validation.
I continue to dispute the validity of the claim of debt from MRS Associates, as I have no knowledge of the account referenced in MRS Associates ' notice. I requested that MRS Associates substantiate their claim of debt by providing me with ; statements of the account, the name and address of the original creditor, and proof that MRS Associates is authorized to collect on behalf of XXXX. On or around XXXX XXXX, 2016, MRS Associates sent me insufficient validation, validation which does not substantiate their claim of debt.
I request that MRS Associates remove all negative tradelines furnished to any credit reporting bureau and cease all collection activities until such a time validation of debt is received that properly substantiates their claim of debt. I will not consider this debt valid until I receive statements of the account, the name and address of the original creditor, and proof that MRS Associates is authorized to collect on behalf of XXXX. No person should be subjected to debt collection from companies not willing to substantiate their claims of debt.

Debt is not mine
Complaint: XXXX is attempting to collect a debt from me against their own customer agreement, changed a policy outlined on its website to defeat my complaint, and disregarded the first assigned debt collector who wrote me an apology letter, evidently believing XXXX violated debt collection laws.
I transferred mobile carriers from XXXX to XXXX on the last day of my billing cycle. I shortly thereafter called to confirm my balance was XXXX dollars.
My account was later debited about {$400.00}, and so I called for a refund, but was informed that I was no longer the account owner and needed permission from one of the remaining lines, my mom. The representative three-way called my mom, who asked XXXX to refund me. I received a refund a few days later.
About two months later I received a bill for over {$1000.00}, but when I called to dispute the bill, I was told I was the account owner, and moreover that I did not transfer liability pursuant to an " assumption of liability '' policy outlined on XXXX website, which I disputed as inapplicable, and because it contradicted prior representations. XXXX then changed the page in an apparent move to defeat my complaint.
My mom states that XXXX told her she could not leave the carrier until the following billing cycle and that she would not be charged. From the billing statement I received, there was no usage on her line, but she was still charged.
The debt was sent to a collection agency, but after I wrote them a letter, they apologized and said they would cease their collection efforts, and would forward our correspondence to XXXX. The debt was then assigned to a second collector, although an executive representative from XXXX said they did not receive anything from the first collector.
My credit score, which was formerly " very good, '' was also impacted XXXX points.
