Complaint: My loan servicing company was recently switched to Home Point Financial and we're now in a significant dispute.
Back in XXXX, I made my first payment and set up an auto-draft moving forward. However, the company, by its own acknowledgement, set up my auto-draft incorrectly.
As a result, I missed multiple payments, and they reported my wife and I to the credit bureaus.
The company 's stance is that I should have noticed the error when I received my monthly statements via email. However, the email is simply a link that states my statement is available. The statement itself isn't attached and there's no mention. the account is delinquent.
I never received any phone call, email, or other correspondence that I missed a payment, until I received a certified letter last week. When I did, I immediately called the company, paid the outdated balance in full, and they remedied the auto-draft error.
But they are still refusing to contact the credit bureaus to tell them they mistakenly reported my wife and I. As a result, our credit scores have dropped more than 100 points. Please help!
Thanks, XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Problem with personal statement of dispute
Complaint: My mortgage from Stonegate Mortgage was sold to Home Point Financial, Home Point had erroneously sent negative reports to credit bureaus on many consumer accounts. I spoke with Home Point several times who only said they were aware and working on it. I also disputed the negative reporting with credit bureaus. XXXX deleted the entire account so now I show no past positive payment with any real estate and my score decreased dramatically, XXXX now shows account as closed and no real estate balance. Home Point has not been reporting my current timely payment either. Home Points error has decreased my credit score significantly and impacted my reputation, credit worthiness and financial abilities. My reports should reflect my past timely payments ( before Home Point ) and years as well as my current timely obligations. Home Point Financial is in violation of the FCRA by not reporting fair and accurate information for their entire consumer base as well as improper deletion entirely of an account they acquired..

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from Homepoint Financial stating they had incorrectly reported my mortgage late to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. This is completely predatory because the mortgage they reported being paid late, was never late and was PAID OFF in full in XX/XX/XXXX. Essentially they reported my mortgage payment late every single month from the date it was paid off thru the date of this complaint. This shows as a rolling 120 day mortgage late on a mortgage I no longer owe. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Homepoint and spoke with XXXX, I requested that they immediately send me a letter detailing specifically that this was their error and they they would be reporting it as not late to all three bureaus. I need a specific letter to submit to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX as they will not report the mortgage current unless the letter has the specific language they require. I was told my request was noted and that I would receive a the more specific letter via email. On XX/XX/XXXX I received the same non-specific letter in my email that I had gotten in the mail on XX/XX/XXXX. Clearly this was not at all helpful. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Homepoint again and asked them to provide the letter I had requested or show me proof the late payments had been removed from my credit history. I do not remember the name of the person I spoke with but I was told they had removed the late report which was completely not true as I had a copy of my current credit report showing the late payments still there in front of me. I was told to email the page of the credit report that still showed Homepoint reporting the late payments. I emailed the requested item on XX/XX/XXXX and was told they would get back to me in 48 hours. A week later, still no response and still no letter, I called back on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with XXXX. XXXX insisted the mortgage lates were not being reported any longer on my credit report. I informed XXXX that I was looking at a copy of my credit report that was pulled on XX/XX/XXXX and that yes, the late payments are still being reported and they are being reported as 120 days late. XXXX asked me to email him a copy of the credit report which I did. He remained on the phone with me until he was able to look at the report himself. He indicated the report only showed a 30 day late, which is inaccurate as it shows 120 days late, and further does not help at all as I never paid the mortgage late ever, not when I had it and certainly not once it was paid in full. XXXX told me he was escalating my request to have the inaccurate credit reporting immediately removed from my credit report from all three bureau. I told XXXX I would also need a letter with the specific language the three bureaus require. He asked me to email him the specific language which I did, while we were on the phone. He confirmed he received it and confirmed he would send the request to management. Today is XX/XX/XXXX. I have not received the letter I requested and the late payments are still showing up on my credit report. Each time I called Homepoint I informed them I needed this taken care of immediately as I was in escrow to purchase a home and I had {$35000.00} on deposit for that home, that I stood to loose because the lender I was working with was unable to approve the loan with these inaccurate mortgage lates reporting on my credit report. Since I never obtained what I was requesting from Homepoint and since they never asked the three bureaus to remove the inaccurate reporting I lost the home I was in escrow to purchase. My current home is escrow, The buyers of my home will not let me out of our contract, I have no ability to purchase another home while this inaccurate information is on my credit report and I now I will have no place to live. All because Homepoint is reporting false, inaccurate late payment information on a mortgage that was never late and was paid in full and as agreed 10 months ago. I will be attaching to this complaint proof the mortgage was paid in full, the recorded reconveyance from Homepoint, a copy the the original note they sent back when the mortgage was paid off, a copy of the letter they sent congratulating me on paying off the mortgage, copies of all emails indicated above, copies of credit reports indicated above, and proof no payments were ever late on the account not while it was open and certainly not after it was paid in full.

Complaint: Homepoint is unfairly charging me {$130.00} for forced placed insurance coverage. On XX/XX/XXXX I mailed a copy of the my XXXX renewal to Home Point. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter requesting proof of coverage. I uploaded and faxed proof on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter saying wind coverage is required. ( XXXXXXXX XXXX, who sold the loan to Homepoint, did not require wind coverage ). I purchased new coverage including wind effective XX/XX/XXXX.
I complied with Homepoint 's request within 24 hours I will not pay for forced placed coverage as the delay was on the part of Home Point Mortgage. Had Homepoint notified me in a timely manner there would be no issue.

Complaint: 1. ) HomePoint Financial sent me a letter indicating that due to an error they had mis- reported to the credit bureaus that We has missed a payment, and that it would take 45 days to be corrected 2. ) Homepoint Financial mailed my escrow payment for Home Insurance that was supposed to go to XXXX to an address for the XXXX XXXX 3. ) Homepoint Financial miscalculated my escrow payment resulting in a {$300.00} increase to my monthly payment 4. ) When calling in order to have the Escrow corrected, I was hung up on twice by HomePoint Financial ( XX/XX/XXXX ) - I was promised a call back within an hour from Supervisor " XXXX '' - they never called me back 5. ) After correcting my escrow adjustment, HomePoint Financial failed to produce a new and updated statement for me to pay 6. ) I was promised that HomePoint Financial would send me an updated statement with the correct amount on it, and I received a duplicate of the original erroneous bill 7. ) Upon calling to correct the erroneous bill a second time - I was told that they could not issue an updated bill until the next billing cycle - a direct contradiction to my earlier conversations.
8. ) It is XX/XX/XXXX - XXXX bill is due on XX/XX/XXXX and I still do not have an updated statement to pay. The bill I have is for an incorrect and MUCH largere amount than is due. I am pretty sure that it is a violation of the FDCPA to sent a bill for an incorrect amount, as is mis-reporting credit information, Hanging up on a consumer, and giving them incorrect information.

Complaint: Home Point Financial has reported a default on our home loan, charged us late fees, caused undo stress, and they refuse to correct their era. Homepoint reported us in default on our loan, acknowledged it was an era, but they havent corrected the problem. We are now getting default letters. We submitted documentation from our banks, verifying payments made for XXXX and XX/XX/2018. However, Homepoint has not corrected the era and claim we didnt make payments. We have spoken to the representatives over and over again, but no one seems to know how to correct the issue. We have corresponded through letters and still the same response. Its as if they are unwilling to do the research, verify the documentation, and correct their mistake. We had a good credit score, but if this continues we want.

Complaint: Back in XXXX I received a collection call from my mortgage company that my payment was short. I was told my escrow account was short and I needed to make it up with an immediate payment of {$1700.00} and my payments were going to go up around {$900.00} a month. I asked them to explain the shortage and they claim to have sent an explanation back in XXXX of last year. I told them I received nothing but there must be an issue with the transfer when they bought my loan out from the previous company last XXXX. I also told them I made a payment myself of more than {$7000.00} to the XXXX County tax assessor to pay my HERO loan and to get the deduction for 2017. They also were trying to collect a missed payment they didn't receive from my last mortgage company ( Plaza Mortgage ) which has since been resolved. I was not happy and told them I would make the payments to keep my credit in good standing and they needed to send a statement proving I still owed this amount in unpaid escrow. I also have asked multiple times to stop my escrow account and they have refused claiming their policy does not allow it under certain conditions I haven't reached. I reminded them their conditions don '' t apply since I signed a contract with XXXXXXXX XXXX not them. XXXX 's contract did not forbid me from their conditions of 2 years and 80 % equity or better. I also sent them the receipt for the credit card payment I made and they told me a check for more than {$3000.00} and a statement has been mailed. I have yet to receive either even though I've been told multiple times on the phone and by email the proverbial check is in the mail! And they still refuse to cancel my impound account and I was briefly given poor credit rating on TransUnion credit bureau for their mistakes and poor accounting.

Complaint: After Hurricane Irma hit Florida, my mortgage servicer Home Point Financial offered me a three month deferment on my loan to allow me to ensure sufficient finances were available for any home repairs that were needed. This period covered my XXXX - XXXX payments. In XXXX, I was contacted with an offer to roll up the three payments in deferment into a loan modification which I accepted. The terms were I would make three trial payments covering the XXXX - XX/XX/2018 payment, then a loan modification would be put in place. I made each payment. In XXXX I was told I had been successful and the process began. In XXXX Home Point Financial accidentally reported me three months past due and while they fixed it, the resulting error led to several of my credit cards dropping my balance by a total of approximately {$8000.00}. In XXXX I was sent and returned the loan modification documents and this was accepted. Then in XXXX my loan was transferred from between two Home Point Financial related company 's and in the process, one of my previous payments from XXXX - XXXX was removed from my loan modification profile meaning as of XX/XX/XXXX, instead of being up to date on payments, I'm now showing a month behind. I spoke to a Loan Modification Officer at the beginning of XXXX who told me not to worry and it would be addressed. Furthermore, on XX/XX/XXXX, an unauthorized attempt to debt my account occurred leading to fees being assessed on my Home Point Financial Loan. I called into Home Point Financial on XX/XX/XXXX and was told I had authorized the debt for the payment which I have not.

Complaint: Over this past weekend, Home Point Financial corporation reported to the credit agencies that I was delinquent 30 days on my mortgage payments. I have verified with my bank and with my account on the Home Point Financial website that I am currentl on all payments. This error in reporting dropped my score by over 100 points.
I have attempted to reach them repeatedly to no avail, and I have received no response to phone calls or email sent to the company.
I found out that other customers are affected via a XXXX XXXX, when I would have rather heard directly from the company. At this point I do not know when this will be corrected, how long it will take to reflect in my credit score or what long term effects this may have on my account.
Given the recent track record that I've had with this specific servicer, who was late to pay my home and flood insurance as well, I don't expect their resolution to make everything right in a satisfactory amount of time. This is alarming, given the severity of the problem they are causing with the credit scores of their customers that are responsible and pay on time.
I am concerned this may occur again with this servicer.
Upon request I can provide copies of relevant statements from the Home Point themselves along with those from my bank.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I was notified by XXXX, my credit monitoring company, that my score had dropped over 100 points due to a delinquent payment.
Upon looking into my history, the delinquent payment listed was my mortgage for Home Point Financial. It stated that the XX/XX/XXXX payment was over 30 days overdue and had been reported to XXXX.
I have been trying to contact Home Point Financial since Saturday, XX/XX/XXXX, but they have taken down their customer service lines. I have messaged them on XXXX and not received an answer. I have also emailed them and received no answer.
They have indicated that there is a problem with reporting and many people were affected. Some people, however, were contacted by email or phone. We received no such contact and can still not reach Home Point Financial.
This is an egregious breach of trust in a mortgage company sending out damning reports on borrowers financial standing. If we were to not pay our mortgage, we would have to respond to debt collectors and eventually end up in court. Why are these companies not paying any penalty at all for their horrible mistakes?

Complaint: Home Point Financial incorrectly reported my account as delinquent ( past 30 days ) to the credit agencies. I already was notified by the agencies that my rating has dropped considerably due to this and I can verify this by logging into such services that show that.
HPF is not answering their phones as I have tried to call multiple times this week. They are not responding to emails when they say they will within 24 hours. That time limit has come and gone. And apparently, I was not alone in having my rating trashed. Apparently, they submitted delinquencies on many accounts that they service due to some ridiculous error that never should have happened.
A credit rating is not easy to repair and they have done great damage to my previously stellar rating. What can be done about this?

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I received an alert that my loan with Home Point Financial is being reported 30 days past due in the amount of {$780.00}. Every time I log in to their website, I have received 0 notice of any past due amount, and have received no communications in writing or by phone of a past due amount.
I attempted to log in to their website, but am locked out. I attempted to call them to get it unlocked, but they're only open M-F XXXX-XXXX.
I attempted to call them this morning, and they're having " system issues '' yet again. I can't access basic information about my account in the IVR, because any time it tries to pull up my account it locates 2 loans and then gives me an error message and hangs up on me.
They've had " system issues '' and " website difficulties '' since they did an " upgrade '' to their services. This has resulted in a communication to accountholders with them from their company 's president, yet it's still not fixed. Their XXXX official response team just says " we're going through system changes/updates '' to any problem reported.
There's virtually no way to contact this company if you have a servicing issue, and they've now violated FCRA.
