Complaint: I wrote a letter to XXXX and XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX about 11 negative accounts all with account # XXXX .... from XXXX XXXX for various amounts and 1 negative account from great lakes account # XXXX. I asked for verification and/or validation of the original instrument of indebtedness by way of contract or signed agreement. XXXX responded that they verified the debt with the company and I needed to contact XXXX XXXX for any paper work. I did just that. On XX/XX/XXXX I wrote a letter to XXXX XXXX and great lakes directly asking for the same information. As of this date XX/XX/XXXX I have not received any response of validation and/or verification. I sent another letter to both XXXX and XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX letting them both know that I had not received any response of validation or verification in the time frame specified by law under the FDCPA and the FCRA of 30 days, and that the debts should be removed from my credit report. As of this date I have not received a updated credit report and credit score.

Problem with customer service
Complaint: Had difficulty contacting student loan grantor to submit forbearance/deferment request and representative at my college institution was not properly assisting me in getting the forbearance/deferment request submitted. I initially tried to contact school and loan grantor to set up arrangement in XXXX and did not manage to get forbearance/deferment completed, accepted Due to this the loan grantor reported on my credit that i was delinquent on each student loan debt as the full amount is currently broken up into parts on my credit report. The forbearance/deferment request was accepted and on my credit is says that i was late to make the payments however this was not due to my own negligence but rather was due to the loan grantor and school not assisting me in a timely manner to get the request processed. The amounts are XXXX and XXXX.per FCRA I should not be responsible for this loan. due to inaccurate information and a 3 party reporting to credit reports.

Contacted your employer
Complaint: I received a call at work from this collection agency claiming to be attempting to collect a student loan debt about a month ago. I immediately told the representative not to contact me at work and that the amount alleged owed was in dispute. I further requested verification from them in writing of the alleged debt. This was about a month ago. Despite me telling them not to contact me at work they have continued to do so twice, including today ( XX/XX/2018 ) from someone who identified himself as XXXX at approximately XXXX. Central time. In addition when speaking to the receptionist at my work the representatives have given the name of the company as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, which anyone can XXXX and see it a debt collection agency. Perhaps the most egregious thing this agency has done was to send a letter to a general fax number stating that they were requesting employment verification for me. They included my social security number and ask about my income. This letter was left on a general fax machine where anyone could have and did see both my social security number, the agency and their request about my income. This fax was sent at XXXX. central time so the company should have reasonably known that sending a fax with that personal information likely would not have been retrieved until the next morning meaning anyone, including random office cleaning staff would have had access to my social security number. Furthermore I still have not received the verification I requested. I believe that all of these actions are in violation of federal law and was done solely to repeatedly harass me.

Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: I have had serious issues with my student loans ever since I graduated with an XXXX from XXXX College in XXXX, NY in XXXX. In XXXX, the XXXX student loan and XXXX. loans ( from XXXX Univ. ) were consolidated with XXXX XXXX for a total amount of {$45000.00} and I was put on a loan with interest-only payments for 60 months and then payments would be applied to principal. As soon, I made 50 payments, the loan was transferred to another servicer and the public loan was reconsolidated by another lender/servicer, which I started again to make interest only payments on a new loan. From XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, I have been making payments towards the public student loan with several student lenders ( Depart. of Education, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, etc. ) and no monies were applied to principal. I had no choice but to switch to a private loan since nothing could be done by XXXX XXXX or the federal government.
In XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX, as the private lender, paid off the public student loans and I began a new variable rate loan at prime rate with an amount totaling {$43000.00}. From XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, I have been making payments to the private loan monthly at {$360.00} a month. However, this student loan started in XX/XX/XXXX and should have been close to being paid off at this point in XX/XX/XXXX.
I need some assistance with reducing the principal balance or finding a way to get monetary relief. I appreciate any assistance or options that you may provide. I am available if you need to contact me at cell # ( XXXX ) XXXX.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I have a student loan with Great Lakes. Without asking me, they signed me up to have all bills and payment information sent to an email that I do not regularly check. When we called to find out why we were getting past due notices but had never gotten a bill Great Lakes told us that they automatically send all bills via email, without asking first if that is what we want.
Great Lakes should not be permitted to choose the delivery method of bills and payment information. The customer should be allowed the option to choose their delivery preference. Because of this we were unaware that a payment was due, and were charged extra interest.
It is unfair to communicate only by email, without first asking if that is okay.

Received bad information about your loan
Complaint: Twenty months after paying off my loan in full, Great Lakes added {$13000.00} to my loan balance. They said the money was a fraudulent payment ( it wasn't ) so they sent it back to the bank. I never received the money back. They refuse to tell me where it was sent to past that. The money has disappeared. Now I have a large balance on my student loan, and my missing {$13000.00} is nowhere to be found.

Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Complaint: I submitted a dispute with XXXX on XX/XX/2018 and XX/XX/2018 with the student loan companies XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Great Lakes. Prior to filing a dispute with XXXX, I contacted the company directly requesting any documentation supporting the claim that a debt is owed and they never provided any documents to support the claim. I also contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Great Lakes directly and never received a response. From there I gather all of my letters with tracking numbers and filed a dispute with XXXX. Approximately 2 months passed, and I never received correspondence about the disputes. On XX/XX/2018, I called XXXX to receive an update and they told me that the company verified the account. I then asked them how did the company do so and they said electronically. I then asked if they could provide me documentation from company verifying the authenticity of their response, an d the representative explained that they do not have have any documents. I then asked, How do you verify if a company is reporting false information or not, and she couldn't respond. I asked her, if there was a procedure on determining if a company is reporting false information and she said no. I explained that I had contacted the companies and that there was no documentation and even no response and I question the authenticity of their investigation. Again, she could explain or answer any of my questions. She stated that whatever the company reports is what they report and that they have no way of verifying the information being supplied is correct. With that, knowing that the two companies being disputed have either refused to respond or failed to provide documentation, this shows that whatever information that XXXX claims to have if not correct. It appears that XXXX is allowing companies to provide false information with no investigation, despite what consumers are providing as supporting documentation. I have submitted this dispute over two months ago. Disputes usually require 30 days for a response. Not only did I not receive a response, but a true investigation was not completed.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: My loan service provider, Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation & Affiliates ( " Great Lakes '' ), has refused to calculate my payment amount based upon my adjusted gross income ( " AGI '' ). Instead, Great Lakes is calculating my payment amount based upon my reported income on my XXXX. By doing so, Great Lakes has improperly increased my monthly payment by a significant amount.
I am eligible for the Pay As You Earn ( " PAYE '' ) repayment plan. I have submitted all required paperwork for the PAYE plan. Calendar year XX/XX/2019 is my third year in the PAYE plan.
Pursuant to Section 4B, Line 11 of the IDR Plan Request, OMB No. 1845-0102, I am required to submit my most recent Federal Tax Return with my request to remain in the PAYE plan. As in years past, I logged onto the StudentLoans.gov website to submit my application. This in turn redirected me to IRS.gov, whereby I authorized the IRS to electronically transmit my Tax Return to Great Lakes. IRS, U.S. Department of Education, and Great Lakes have provided email confirmation that Great Lake received my tax return. Further, I have verbal confirmation from multiple Great Lakes employees of the same. Specifically, over the past three days, " XXXX, '' " XXXX, '' and " XXXX '' each confirmed receipt of my tax return.
Nevertheless, Great Lakes requested a copy of my XXXX to confirm my wage information was incorrect. I provided a copy of my XXXX, which confirmed the accuracy of my tax return. However, Great Lakes has now taken the position that they retain discretion to reject my tax return and calculate my payment amount based upon my XXXX wages, and not my AGI, as required by the U.S. Department of Education. Importantly, my AGI amount is lower than my XXXX wage amount, and using my AGI to determine my monthly payment amount results in a lower amount than using my XXXX wage amount.
I have spoke with Great Lake multiple times in an attempt to resolve this issue. But Great Lakes is unwilling to process my request in accordance with the requirement under PAYE. Moreover, Great Lakes is unwilling to process my request in a manner similar to years past.
I have ample supporting documentation, and can provide the same as necessary.
