Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, this loan was discharged in US bankruptcy court. Discover Student Loans ( aka SLC ) continued to collect monies and report to credit agencies that my payments were delinquent and sending letters as such of my account being past due. I was informed by SLC that they did not discharge my loan and needed to repay. I have been paying on this loan since then at varying payments based upon my payment agreement with SLC. In addition, they offered me a 0.25 % discount for setting up automatic payments. In the past 5 years my rate has gone from 6 % to 11 % and billing reflects no such discount from automatic payments. I have consulted with my bankruptcy attorney, and this loan was in fact discharged and Discover ( SLC ) has been unlawfully collecting payments from me. I have forwarded all documentation to Discover ( SLC ) and when I speak with customer service I get no answers or help from the representative. I have made approximately $ 4000+ in payments and my loan balance continues to increase. Furthermore, my ex husband has contacted Discover claiming fraud, which Discover closed its case in XX/XX/XXXX stating he did lawfully co-sign for the loan. I was informed from discover that they did investigate but he can continue to file. This is harassment that the company continues to allow someone to file such claims, when it has been previously investigated twice.

Complaint: New Complaint! I filled a prior Complaint against Discover and this issue has arisen since then. Firstly, in my agreement with Discover, any disputes are supposed to go to arbitration, which I requested and Discover has not done. Next, I got a letter from Discover telling me if I made the minimum monthly payment timely, 3 months in a row. which I did they would consider my account current which they have not. Next, although Discover told me differently, my written agreement with Discover specifically provides if I am not satisfied with a purchase made with my card, Discover will protect me! I didn't know when I filled the previous Complaint, but the Company where the purchase was made, XXXX XXXX, in an administrative proceeding with the State of Michigan Secretary of State, arising out of this purchase committed fraud when they told the State I received documents required by State law on XX/XX/2018, when factually in violation of State law I didn't receive the required documents for almost a month after that date, a violation of State law, and evidence why the sale was fraudulent. Therefore, under my agreement with Discover, I am disatisfied with purchase I now have evidence was fraudulent and under my agreement with Discover I am unhappy with fraudulent purchase I made with my Discover Card, which Discover should reimburse me for under my written agreement with Discover.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: In XX/XX/2017. I received a letter from my bank that my credit and fica score drop less than XXXX. I have had a 800 + score for 25 years. When I inquired to my bank they referred me to Discover student loans. I called the loan company and asked what this matter was about. I had never had a student loan. They explained that a student loan was taken out by my son with the same name years prior. The payment was not made and a non payment was issued to his report. I found out then I was the cosigner. I have never signed nor authorized and such cosigning document. When I asked Discover to produce the document of my signature they could not. They have held me liable to pay by threatening legal action if I dont pay this bill that I did not authorize. I need to see if my name and ss # can be taken off the loan and place the rightful person to the owing of the loan. In addition they have packaged the loan together connected to the fed rates and adjust accordingly. Seemingly that will cause the loan to spike up through the years. Making it more difficult to pay down. The compounding interest rates are compounded over and over each other never letting the principle go down. I have been making payments to the accounts but I am not seeing the principle adjustments applied correctly. I asked Discover student loans to investigate, only to get no help and no documentation to support there findings and no resolve. In removing my name.

Complaint: Complainant holds an account with the credit card company since XX/XX/XXXX, account in good standing. Account holder called in good faith on XX/XX/XXXX to amend personal information on account to add temporary SSN issued by Government ( complainant is currently pursuing citizenship ). Card company proclaimed security risk, held account charging privileges under the description of " security due to SSN change '' - no SSN change. New SSN was issued, it would be in addition to the information under which the account was opened in XX/XX/XXXX ( with alien registration ID number issued by Government ). Said alien registration ID number is still valid and is not changed/modified/invalidated by the temporary issuance of a temporary work only SSN. Discover refused to re-instate account based upon security risk ( what risk? an SSN is being amended to an existing in good standing account ), and refused to close account at customer request - and refused to note on credit report that closure was explcitly at the request of the customer. Complaints : 1. Discriminatory practice against immigrants by inferring credit was no longer valid due to immigration status process [ reference ECOA ( 15 U.S.C. 1691 and following ) and Regulation B ( 12 C.F.R. 1002 and following ) ], 2. Complaint: I mailed, by US Postal Certified Mail, XXXX a Federal Trade Commission Identity Theft Report on XX/XX/2018, letter attached, which contained five credit cards and/or personal loans that were reporting on my credit report and are fraudulent. XXXX did remove/delete all except a Discover Financial account. I then mailed Discover, by US Postal Certified Mail, what was required which was also the Identity Theft Report. Until today, both XXXX and Discover have still not removed this fraudulent account from my credit report. Discover mailed me a letter, dated XX/XX/2018, who claim they conducted their investigation and will not report this account on my credit report but still are. All documents will be uploaded here as proof. Discover also claims that the address statements were mailed to were also fraudulent and was reported on the Identity Theft Report. Than the also have a wrong name that is not my name, which I attached and circled in red pen. They are clearly not conducting a thorough investigation and are still reporting this fraud account on my XXXX credit report.

Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I spoke with Discover Student Loans regarding changing my due date to the XXXX of each month. Discover agreed to change the due starting XX/XX/XXXX as stated on the document. The loan was set up on the automatic debit. Loan payments were being debited on the XXXX of each month. I again spoke with Discover Student Loan customer service to request the due date change to the XXXX of the month. Discover stated starting XX/XX/XXXX, the due date would be changed. On XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, Discover processed an automatic debit for loan repayment from my checking account. These payments were returned unpaid and my Bank assessed me a {$30.00} charge each time. Discover has committed a violation of Regulation AA. Discover mislead me in their communication that the due date would be changed to XXXX of each month. On XX/XX/XXXX, Discover informed me that my automatic payments would be stopped and I would lose the discount associated with automatic payments.

Complaint: I hired a home inspector to inspect a home I was considering purchasing. The pile of sand around a heat vent wasn't a tip-off there was an issue with the heat duct. When we asked the inspector about it, he said that duct was fine. Upon moving in, we opened the vent and found a file of dirt. There is a hole deep in the vent I can not access. It will cost quite a bit of money to fix, according to an air duct repair company. I filed a billing dispute with my credit card company, Discover Financial Services. Discover closed the case in favor of the inspector. I sent more information to Discover for them to re-open the case. I informed Discover that I found out the inspector false advertised that he is a member of the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX inspectors have to go through training to be certified. I also informed Discover that the inspector claims to have a money-back satisfaction guarantee. That right there is enough to rule in my favor. Discover sent me a letter stating they considered the information I provided and that is wasn't new information. That's a lie. I didn't provide the information and Discover didn't already consider it. Discover needs to remove the charges from my card.

Complaint: I am writing as an extremely dissatisfied consumer, regarding a dispute open with Discover Bank and a charge from XXXX, a company who broke medical protocol and whom promised verbally via phone and in-person a 25 % discount on services that they later did not honor. In previously communicating with Discover -- a representative named XXXX -- I was extremely detailed in my narrative and information sent regarding this dispute, and was advised that the Executive Office would work closely with the Disputes department to ensure timely and fair processing of my claim. On XX/XX/2019, I was very distressed to find that Discover sided with the merchant ambiguously and canceled my claim, even in lieu of the vast information provided by me to Discover 's offices. Discover opted to side with the merchant even in lieu of a vast lack of information provided by the merchant -- including not providing signed consent forms, forms with missing signatures, and an unrecognized signature on said receipt from the visit. In addition, the merchant ( XXXX ) refuses to speak with me at all, rendering it impossible for me to recover these funds as Discover also refuses to aid me in my concerns, and the Executive Office has become despondent and unprofessional in their dealings. At this time, I am requesting an immediate reopening of this claim versus XXXX and reversal of the decision to side with the merchant even in lieu of my extensive submitted documentation, as Discover has not done right by me, the customer. This, also even in lieu of the vast information provided and the proof of medical protocol broken by XXXX. In addition, I have told XXXX, a Disputes Manager with Discover Bank, that XXXX is refusing outright to speak to me via phone and not returning my emails and hanging up when I call them, rendering it impossible ( through no fault of my own ) to recover documents to send to Discover regarding this dispute. I do have several emails back and forth between XXXX ( XXXX Patient Consultant ) & I regarding the dispute, and their ongoing outright ignoring of my requests for assistance. While I also filed a grievance with the XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX ignored this complaint and did not respond. To date, XXXX ignores my requests for assistance and will not speak to me about this matter, rendering my only capability of recovering my funds for this dishonored promise and breach of medical protocol the dispute process with Discover Bank. This company admitted verbally ( a contractual agreement upheld even in courts of law ) to refund 25 % as a courtesy due to misinformation provided me ( XXXX, XXXX Patient Consultant and XXXX XXXX, XXXX Operations Manager ), and then proceeded to ignore my requests for contact and resolution as I had already filed a dispute with my bank ( Discover ) ; to date, this ignoring of my phone calls and emails continues, leaving me with no recourse other than to dispute with my bank, which I have done. The fact remains that not only medical protocol was broken by the merchant in neglecting to take Before & After photos of my procedure, further rendering it difficult to get their treatments corrected at another practice in addition to not being able to recover my funds via the dispute opened with Discover Bank, as they refuse to assist me at this time further -- a fact that is both appalling and unethical. To date, this matter has caused me severe distress during an already difficult time, and it is my hope that we are able to immediately resolve this matter in my favor given the detailed information I have provided -- now including XXXX 's outright refusal to speak to me regarding my issue or the promise of their refund. I am requesting that Discover Bank be investigated for their practices of simply accepting merchant 's word over the consumer 's, even in lieu of documented narratives, missing paperwork on part of the merchant, and the refusal of the merchant to provide recorded phone calls to prove my claim of the promised discount. It is is no way the fault of the consumer that said merchant is refusing to speak to me, and in the state of California, a verbal contract is a legally binding contract ( promise of said discount ), another fact that Discover has ignored. As a result, I am requesting immediate resolution to my concerns through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Discover 's Executives.
