Complaint: Discover Card has been contacted via the three credit reporting agencies for the last two years and also via the FTC/CFPB with no resolution to the incorrect reporting with the latest correspondence in XXXX XXXX this year. Discover Card double down on the damage it has done to my credit score, ability to get credit both personal and business not to mention the intense anxiety and angst this situation has caused me with continuing to violate FCRA laws. I am writing to Update the latest erroneously, deceptive, misleading current reporting that Discover Card is submitting to the three credit bureaus XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. Discover Card issued a 1099C Cancelation/Forgiveness of debt to the IRS as well to me. Discover Card is still reporting to the credit bureaus that this debt is open, overdue, past due, etc after it has already triggered an IRS event which forced me to report this forgiven amount of {$14000.00} as income. However, Discover Card is still incorrectly reporting this amount as current open debt that is past due as of XX/XX/XXXX and that's impossible since this amount was reported as a forgiven debt income to me on my XXXX Tax Return. This is a GROSS Negligence to continue to report this information as if it's active collections, currently past due completely ignoring the action that Discover Card took on the account. This has cause grave harm to me and my family to continue to deceive readers of the credit file and to totally disregard Federal Credit reporting laws. DiscoverCard 's own documentation states that collection has been discontinued and the economic detriment it has caused by the IRS reporting as it actual income was passed to me when it was not. So this situation causes additional harm via additional tax owed, inquiries on top of the negative reporting of this account as if it is a current open debt owed to Discover Card.

Complaint: I Got a fraud call from XXXX XXXX - XXXX XXXX XXXX at XX/XX/XXXX @ XXXX XXXX EST, asking for my VISA or XXXX or DISCOVER Card numbers to decrease credit limits. I said you are a fraud, and i am not giving any details - ( I worked for VISA so i recognized it as a fraud call ). Then i was shocked, when he gave my Discover Card Balance and other details. Then he said he is going to closing my account. I said this is not possible. Then he said he have complete details of Discover card to close them. Then i disconnected the call to contact Discover. Meanwhile i receive a call from another number XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, same person laughing and told my Discover Card account is closed. I was Shocked and immediately contacted discover support @ XXXX XXXX EST over Chat, and later @ XXXX XXXX over phone ), to report this fraud. To my surprise Discover Card Support said my account is closed few minutes back, and i said i haven't requested for it, and explained them what happened earlier. XXXX from Discover Card support said " we understand your concerns but they can not do anything as the request came from my phone number ''. I said this is a fraud call, and i want to escalate this, and fix this issue ASAP. XXXX from Discover Card said they can not do anything, and said he will send this details to accounts department. I asked for a ticket number, XXXX said he don't have Ticket number, but said this conversation was started on a Memo line XXXX.

Complaint: This is in response to an unresolved claim through CFPB. I never opened an account with this entity. I do not open such accounts online, electronically, or via the internet. This entity claims I opened an account with them online to obtain a line of credit. I have informed this entity they are incorrect and that I never opened such account. I will not utilize another entity such as FTC to validate my claim or fill out documents alleging a fraud has occurred, as I will not give any entity my personal information due to an occurrence I had nothing to do with. This is not my responsibility. The entity claiming I opened such an account needs to provide a written contract with my wet-ink signature thereon, as that is the only method by which I will open an account. Otherwise, it is proven I have no affiliation with this entity, have never done business with such entity, and do not owe a debt wherein said account exists. Attached are the three attachments this entity included as backing their claim against XXXX XXXX, all of which are invalid as they have nothing to do with me, XXXX XXXX. Also attached is my affidavit stating my procedure for financial contracts. Show me this contract on paper or there is no such contract.

Complaint: I received a letter from Discover ; the letter informed me they issued me a form 1099-C for the year ending XX/XX/XXXX and, after a review of the account, the form was issued correctly. First, I never received a form 1099-C from Discover for the year ending XX/XX/XXXX. Second, I should never have received this form in the first place - I didn't open the account, and I never spent on the account, so there was no income that I received - because I never opened the account and never benefited - in any way - from this account being opened. Apparently they are " still '' investigating this account as a result of my sharing documents that confirm that I was not living at my then home address then they issued the card, and their claim that they called me to confirm my application is untrue. Based on their statements, this investigation should be coming to a close and I should be vindicated. This letter about the 1099-C must be recinded when this investigation officially vindicates my claims of this account being opened via identity theft.

Complaint: since XXXX I have unsuccessfully tried to reach out to Discover Student Loans for assistance with my private student loan repayment. I have sent countless emails, talked to several representatives with little to no help. I understand the debit is mine and I am not trying to avoid paying back my debt however I have stressed multi times the monthly payments are just not manageable!!! payment deferment is only a temporary fix - I need a long term solution. After researching student loan modification I stumbled across an article written back in XXXX by Discover Financial Services stating they would be offering loan modifications- the plan would lower interest rates on distressed customers - this option was not offered to me! I understand each situation is different an must be worked out based on each individually borrower. I like many others that are looking for a solution however many complaints show that borrowers who sought to negotiate a modified repayment plan were denied - Why???? Can someone PLEASE help me find a more management solution????

I try and to get my hockey team on it. I talk to associate and said i should be ok and then wasn't. No really response and not helpful. i think they judgmental and should approved all rebuilding and poor credit people so we can rebuild our credit score. I was approved before and now deny.

I highly recommend you generate verification that DISCOVER FIN SVCS LLC has been reported completely in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act regulations, it's really a serious problem to mis-report. Moreconfirmation of the aforesaid item too. My proper request mustover, I was never 30 days/60 days/120 days late in any of my payments and I'm not greatly tuned in to the date opened so I prefer to ask your be investigated as soon as possible and confirmed to be correct. Complaint: Hi Discover, I am a new to bank customer and proud to be! However, I have come to a road block and I need help. I was advised by your customer service reps ( please review the calls made on XX/XX/19, apologies for the raising of my voice ) that Discover Bank does NOT send alerts for suspicious activities or alert the customer for holds on purchases. I was baffled by this and could not believe what I was hearing! Your reps advised Discover will NOT alert the customer in any fashion of a hold or suspicious alert on the account, rather the customer ( me ) will find out in the middle of a transaction say purchasing groceries. I did research on Discovers website and found this : Dedicated Fraud Specialists -Our Fraud Unit proactively monitors your account for any unusual activity. If we see anything unusual we'll place a hold on those transactions and alert you right away ; Proactive Fraud Monitoring-Your account is monitored for potential fraud and we will alert you if we see anything unusual. If you do have fraud on your account, a fraud specialist will work with you until your issue is resolved. https : //www.discover.comXXXX XXXX : I purchased a gift card from an online retailer XXXX, which provides gift cards from various business at a discounted price ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I purchased 2 gift cards for {$16.00} each, I found out the purchase did not go through from the merchant right before I left work, I submitted another purchase and called Discover and spoke with a woman and advised me of discover not notifying its customer of this.
