Complaint: I have previously submitted a dispute due to XXXX not reporting a paid closed account and instead reporting it as open and unpaid. The account in question is through Credit Acceptance, account number XXXX. I paid off this account on XX/XX/2018 for the total amount {$190.00}. Credit Acceptance sent me mail showing the account satisfied and closed. On XX/XX/2018 XXXX reopened this paid closed account to unpaid with balance of {$160.00}. I called Credit Acceptance XX/XX/2018 to inform them and the lady I spoke with told me to directly dispute it with XXXX because them had indeed sent XXXX my file for this account being paid and closed. XXXX had severally damages my credit because of their negligence and I am ready to sue them over this.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX I submitted payments of {$800.00} dollars to Credit Acceptance Corp in regards to a loan I aquired on a used car. The monthly car note is that of {$520.00}, and I made the initial {$800.00} payments as a safety net for if I came upon financial hard times. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I have been unable to make the {$520.00} payment, so I contacted Credit Acceptance and asked that the initial over payments of {$800.00} be applied to the car note currently due, and I was informed by Credit Acceptance that those initial {$800.00} payments were deffered back to the account from which the came. Credit Acceptance Corp has not provided me with any proof that those payments were deffered however, and are currently charging me late fees that have succeeded my monthly car note, placing me further in debt.

Complaint: I am a XXXX, so I often spend periods of up to 9 months out of the country while I am on a ship. While I was at sea, I wanted to fix my credit, so I paid everything outstanding off. When I got back to shore at the end of 9 months I went to buy a car. In XXXX I went to XXXX XXXX of XXXX Mississippi and bought a used 2013 XXXX XXXX. They said that although I had nothing negative, and a {$2000.00} down payment, I didn't have enough positive credit to finance a used car. I said there must be something they can do, so the car dealer called Credit Acceptance. First of all, I believe the loan amount is not what I agreed to pay. The car itself was around {$4000.00} on the lot, and the financed loan amount according to Credit Acceptance is more than {$13000.00}!!! OK, so I called and told Credit Acceptance about it, and they said it would get straightened out and in the mean time I should continue making payments. Every time I would call and let them know that I thought the financing amount was wrong. They accepted my payments, and accepted my payments. I even paid a bit extra trying to pay down the loan. This continued for several months until one month I went to go pay and they wouldn't accept my payment - they said they were no longer handling my loan anymore and provided no additional information!! They didn't contact me, they didn't tell me who I needed to start paying, they couldn't tell me my payoff amount or anything - they just said they were no longer handling my loan. Not only that, they said the amount I paid early they had made a check and sent that back to the dealer, XXXX at XXXX XXXX!! I called the dealer, and they said that Credit Acceptance had sent them a check for the difference in my payments! They didn't say how big the check was, or if the car was paid off. I emailed the dealer trying to get something - anything - in writing, and I got nowhere. I can see on my credit report I have a XXXX point drop, as I was trying to refinance at the time and was completely unaware that my loan was being sold. I am very upset at Credit Acceptance for selling my loan, sending the DEALER back my " overpayment '' and not notifying me AND doing nothing to straighten out the wrong loan amount. I would like to OWN the car but at this point I don't even know who to pay!! Although I once talked to XXXX on the phone, he said to email him, so I emailed him and he never responded - I have tried to call repeatedly and not gotten through to XXXX again. Another issue is I was charged a title transfer fee and I believe I was charged twice - once at the dealer and then again when the same amount was rolled into the financing. I am currently at sea, and can't even drive the vehicle and very annoyed that they sent my " overpaid '' money to someone and won't even tell me the amount or how close I am to paying off the loan. This situation is outrageous! Please help!!

Complaint: I have made arrangements through Credit Acceptance 's attorney to settle my account in full with a XXXX balance and the company refuses to report the information to the credit bureau accurately.
Instead of reporting that the account is paid with a XXXX balance to all 3 bureaus. They only took off the XXXX settlement off the balance and continue to report that I am not making payments negatively effecting my credit score.
I have emails from Credit Acceptance 's attorney as well as all other documentation that we agreed before payment was made.
This has been an utter nightmare and I cant seem to get this 8 year old debt off of my credit report as well.

When I paid this account off in full I was told that all three ( 3 ) of my credit reports would reflect that the account was paid and closed and would do so XX/XX/2018. Well that is not the case because I checked all three ( 3 ) of my reports on XX/XX/2018 and Credit Acceptance reported to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX that I still owed a balance and charged off. I called Credit Acceptance to resolve this and the CSR told me it would be fixed. Credit Acceptance has yet to fix my credit reports with XXXX and XXXX to show this account paid and closed.

The paperwork i signed stated New York Credit Acceptance Corp. I was charged 22.99 % interest on a 48 month loan.
New York State has a limit of 16 % as well as The Federal Government. The total finance charge is XXXX. the payment is XXXX a month. I was told by the salesman i must purchase an Extended warranty to obtain the loan. the cost is XXXX the warranty, which I found out was optional.XXXX XXXX plus Contract CAP XXXX. I cancelled the warranty with XXXX XXXX they charged me {$50.00} cancellation fee, they will not explained the amount of payment anf interest per month for the warranty. The reimbursed me XXXX. I was told my payment stayed the same. But they deducted the reimbursement amount. There is over XXXX unexplained.
It should be noted I needed 4 repairs to the vehicle, the warranty told me all were not covered.

Complaint: The nature of the problem is that I feel that credit acceptance took advantage of me. In XX/XX/XXXX, I went to XXXX XXXX to purchase a XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was paying {$290.00} on it and within a month, the car stopped and they told me they could not fix it. So I had to fix it myself. I believe they sold me a car that was auctioned off somewhere because it had a crack in the window and it started acting up as soon as I got it. I believe they deceived to think that they checked the car completely before they sold it to me and I also placed GAP insurance on it. After a few months from automatic withdrawal, they started adding on fees when I was late. Every time I was caught up, they added on more fees and they repossessed my vehicle twice. The first time, it was after hours around midnight which is against the law. It was suppose to be around business hours. I thought my car was stolen, so I filed a police report. After I had to pay {$500.00} plus the car note and extra fees, I was then able to get the car back but my nightmare wasn't over. They harassed me every single day from XXXX to XXXX and when I answered, the representatives were very rude and stressed me out even more. The second time they took, I voluntary gave it to them because the stress I had endured with giving them everything I had made me give up. I have a witness they will testify to all of this. Their practices are illegal and they do not inform their customers on procedures and terms of the contract once it has ended.They sold my vehicle for {$2500.00} and sued me for {$12000.00}. They started a garnishment in XX/XX/XXXX without any warning or notification to me to respond to the garnishment. It was placed on me by default, which I'm pretty sure they knew they would win. Because I was unaware of the garnishment about to take place, I was unable to answer and they won on default. My wages started getting garnished in XXXX and still getting garnished. I've been faced with getting evicted from my home, delinquent bills, no vehicle because of what they placed on my credit report. They have taken over {$6000.00} of garnishment from my paycheck. Based on the principal balance, I have paid off the balance that was explained that I had to pay. They told me XX/XX/XXXX, that I will not be able to have it removed from my credit report until attorney fees and interest is paid and that it wouldn't be done until after 60 days instead of 30 days based on the FCRA. This was not discussed to me when I was signing a contract with them when I purchased the car. They are getting over on me and have made my life a nightmare. I'm a single mom with XXXX kids, no car, and I desperately need justice for what they out me through. I'm seeking a resolution for distress and financial turmoil. According to my credit report, my balance is the only thing that is showing on there that had to be paid before it will be removed. Now, they are talking about attorney fees and interest and they are doing this because they won a judgement that was unfairly granted to them without my response to anything. I believe it is against the fair credit reporting act and against proper procedure of reporting the right amount for the debt to be removed from the credit report.

I asked for the price of the car but was not told. The dealer only told me my monthly payment. He said the total Im financing was {$17000.00}. With a monthly payment of {$530.00} which was scheduled for a spilt pay of XXXX every two weeks. First I was told I will not pay until after a month, which my account was debited only one week after, this took my bank account to overdraft. This was the first fraudulent action From CREDIT ACCEPTANCE. I called to question this action, this was when I was told that my balance is {$29000.00} for a XXXX XXXX XXXX. I object and they said there was nothing I could do about it. That I already signed up for it. I told the associate that I never signed a single paper. Everything was done on their computer, it was late at night, I couldnt read the whole long text. I just trusted the auto giant associate who was explaining to me. Since XX/XX/XXXX Ive been making this rigorous payment and Im earlier this year I was out of job for one month which made me had a past due and I got into my car one morning and my car has been shot down. This was the first time I found out that CREDIT ACDEPTANCE had a tracker on my car without my consent. I called them and it was remotely turned on after I made a payment that morning. I missed my job and was totally messed up. This year alone my car has been turned down 4 times. My grieve right now is that I was told as at purchase that I will be eligible for refinancing as at purchase. I called them XX/XX/XXXX that I want to refinance and they said I cant that they dont do refinancing. This was absolutely different from what I was told upon signing. So Ive been paying XXXX XXXX monthly on this car without the opportunity of refinancing. They stock me up with this killing rate and with all this rigor, Ive been assulted and embarrassed by credit acceptance associate on several occasions. Theyve taken so much aggressive action on my turning down my car without notice or warning. Today XXXX of XXXX, Ive been seeing call from credit acceptance the whole day but couldnt pick up because I was at work. At the 5th time of calling me consecutively I was forced to pick up. And this lady was very rude, disrespectful and uncultured to me. Ask me to be quiet 4times in the conversation. I tried to pour out my concern to her but she never listen. She called me saying I have past due and my car will be turned down. I explained to her that I just made a payment as scheduled for me to pay on the XXXX XXXX which was a day before this day. Complaint: Finance Company : Credit Acceptance Complaint : Alleged payment plan agreement date via company and repossession within a 30 day payment applied.
Due to having a XXXX I was unable to handle normal business affairs of which my spouse assumed the responsibility of doing so. As a XXXX in XXXX XXXX I take my financial obligations most seriously but due to this unfortunate life event I became XXXX on my XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX. Upon stay at the hospital my truck was repossed on XX/XX/18 due to a due balance of {$340.00}.
The company was contacted immediately on XX/XX/18 to obtain information as to why the truck had been repossessed of which they explain the {$340.00} past due. The truck has never been repossessed before.
On XX/XX/18 my spouse money gramed {$800.00} to Credit Acceptance of which we are still trying to understand why {$800.00} for a past due balance of {$340.00}. My husband paid this amount and was told there was still a remaining balance that could be included in his monthly payment 's raising the payment from {$550.00} to {$600.00} for a total of 12 months which is still in error being a representative stated after that payment the balance due was {$150.00}.
On XX/XX/18, Less than 30 days from the most recent possession the same company, XXXX XXXX visited our home to repo the truck again at XXXX XXXX of which we were clueless as to why and the repo driver knocked on our door stating he was confusing being he had picked the truck up prior less than 30 days and was very courteous. My spouse had planned to pay the newest payment on XX/XX/18 of which normal payments are not due until the XXXX of each month.
On XX/XX/18 the company was contacted and the following staff were spoken too : XXXX ( rep ) XXXX ( supervisor ), XXXX ( supervisor ), XXXX ( supervisor ) and finally transferred to a manager XXXX whom we left a detailed message. All who indicated that repossession hadn't been reported and we should call the authorities to report the incident.
This company alleges that my spouse agreed to make payments on XX/XX/2018 of which he disputes and has record of the actual recording. Why would a consumer pay {$800.00} plus on XX/XX/18 and then agree to pay XX/XX/18 on a holiday and less than 30 days from the last payment.
I am disputing this alleged date agreement of XX/XX/18 and feel that the next payments should have fallen on the XXXX as normal. We were told a payment was expected on the XXXX as well as the XXXX which is a total discrepancy.
The company is now stating that we owe {$800.00} dollars again to take possession of the truck which again has been less than 30 days. The desire and plan upon my retirement last month was to pay this vehicle off in XXXX but the repor of this company as a valued customer is diminished.
We feel this was an error on behalf of Credit Acceptance and should be rectified. The only thing we should owe is the note to be paid with no additional feels added. We are furthermore inclined to believe that this company is over charging customers and possibly embezzling additional monies.

Complaint: I purchased a XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX 's XXXX & XXXX in XXXX, Texas. The vehicle was financed by Credit Acceptance at 22.01 % for {$22000.00} total amount of payment. On XX/XX/XXXX, Hurricane Harvey hit XXXX, Texas and I had to travel through floodwaters to make it home where I was trapped. I called Credit Acceptance on XX/XX/XXXX to report XXXXXXXX XXXX was in floodwater. I had full coverage insurance through XXXX XXXX and extended warranty protection through XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ), however, for FEMA disaster assistance, I was advised not to file a claim with the insurance companies. The XXXX XXXX trouble indicators lit up the dashboard. I took the vehicle to a local XXXX dealership, XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, and diagnosis indicated Multiple DOC 's. I requested letters for both XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX in applying for Fema assistance stating I did not file a claim. I received a letter from XXXX XXXX stating they do not cover vehicle damaged by floodwaters. Credit Acceptance informs I had to file a claim with the XXXX XXXX because of Hurricane I missed the XXXX payment. XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX agent XXXX XXXX in a recorded conversation total XXXX XXXX and was going to send a tow truck to retrieve the vehicle from my residence immediately, however, I requested paperwork to provide to lien-holder Credit Acceptance and was told to wait on XXXX XXXX agent for documents. XXXX agent XXXX XXXX read invoice from XXXX XXXX to determine months later the vehicle did not suffer from flood-water damage but needed a catalytic converter. XXXX XXXX provided a check in the amount of {$200.00} to cover my deductible for vehicle repair, stating they will cover the cost for the catalytic converter. I took the vehicle to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, and before they release the vehicle I had to pay out of pocket expenses in the amount of XXXX and the following Monday Credit Acceptance repossessed the vehicle. from my job

Complaint: On Friday XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX Credit Acceptance Corp withdrew an unauthorized amount of {$390.00}. Again, on Friday XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX, Credit Acceptance withdrew an authorized amount of {$500.00}.
I called the customer service line at XXXX on Saturday, XX/XX/XXXX and was told by XXXX there was " nothing she can do for me to refund then near unauthorized {$900.00} taken '' from my bank account. XXXX proceeded to make me feel as though I was trying to scam the company, claiming " someone in your house processed two payments '' ( which I told her was not the case. Nobody was on the computer at this time ) and refused to help on the matter.
XXXX then advised me to call my bank to dispute the charges as " there is nothing she could do ''. I proceeded to call my bank, XXXX XXXX, who were both surprised and alarmed Credit Acceptance would not assist me in the unauthorized payments.
XXXX XXXX processed two disputes on both payments. I fully expect Credit Acceptance to accept these disputes.

Complaint: XX/XX/18 : Saw a car listed on their website. PRICE IS CLEARLY {$8900.00}. Inquired about it and eventually applied for financing.XX/XX/18 : Received a call from XXXX informing me I had been financed. Told me the FINANCE COMPANY raised the price of the vehicle from {$8900.00} to {$11000.00}. I have another account with the company so when he mentioned the name I decided to hang up with XXXX and give them a call. This finance company had no idea what I was talking about! Furthermore, the finance company explained to me in detail why they have nothing to do with car pricing. I immediately called XXXX back, explaining to him I knew someone was lying. He transferred me to XXXX who made up a seemingly ridiculous story about finance companies " charging fees '' because I was a higher risk borrower. She stood by their claim that Credit Acceptance Corp ( who I have already filed a CFPB complaint against ) insisted on charging me a " fee '' of {$3000.00} in addition to requiring $ XXXX/monthly for 48 months on a ten-year-old car.
Summary : Car original price = {$8900.00}. XXXX & XXXX tell me we have a deal with Credit Acceptance Corp. CA is requiring a " fee '' of {$3000.00} immediately added to the sticker price of {$8900.00} ( which CA denies ). I am told to pay {$3000.00} fee + {$2500.00} down payment + ( {$430.00} x 48 ) = {$26000.00}!!!! Again, it has to be illegal and unconstitutional to pay over {$26000.00} for a car originally priced at {$8900.00}. All of these subprime lenders and car lots are LIARS that just want to SCAM innocent Americans, forcing desperate people into deals they know are horrible and probably illegal. They should be shut down immediately.

Complaint: Hi I am contacting you because I am dealing with multiple accounts on my report that are showing up due to fraudulent activity. I recently looked at my credit report and noticed multiple accounts on my report that were not opened by me, there are many medical collection accounts which I have never finance any of my medical costs. I am also seeing accounts from banks that Ive never opened an account with or gotten a loan from or even a credit card. I do not know how these items are showing on my report, I believe some one could have my information and is using it to open these accounts. It could also be some one elses accounts showing on my report. Complaint: My wife and I entered a contract to purchase a XXXX XXXX XXXX financed by Credit Acceptance ( housed near XXXX, Michigan ) on XX/XX/2018. As of today ( XX/XX/2018 ) we still owe {$27000.00} on the car, it's worth according to XXXX XXXX XXXX as of the same date is nearly {$20000.00} less than what we owe. I believe this contract is unlawful, fraudulent and unconstitutional. I do not believe it is legal to charge people nearly $ XXXX over the course of 5 years for a vehicle that is valued under {$10000.00}. In only five or six short months we have already paid nearly {$3000.00} in monthly payments, never late. These payments are in addition to the {$2500.00} down payment we paid at the time of purchase. We called Credit Acceptance to renegotiate the terms and we were met with rude remarks and disrespect. Surely our original agreement is illegal. There are loan sharking usury laws in place in this country and interest can not be astronomical. Please help. After further investigation it seems that XXXX and XXXX are subject to much higher interest rates on car loans due to discriminatory crediting practices. If my wife and I were a XXXX couple, we would have received a much better deal. This contract is illegal on many grounds and should be revamped or abolished.
