Complaint: In my compliant against credit acceptance on XX/XX/XXXX I explained that my account was paid with my insurance but Credit Acceptance was reporting my account with a balance and as a collection. Credit Acceptance responded that they were paid by my insurance company in XX/XX/XXXX and that they reported accurately to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. Attached is the letter they wrote to me admitting that my account was paid in full by my insurance company in XX/XX/XXXX and that they requested that the credit reporting agencies list the account as closed paid in full.
As of todays date the Credit Acceptance is reporting my account listed with XXXX and XXXXn under a collection status and with XXXX as paid closed account/settled for less than full amount old. The proof of the above listed status is attached. I have also listed proof that Credit acceptance as of XX/XX/XXXX was listing my account to XXXX with a balance owed of {$5900.00}.
Credit acceptance has illegally reported my account status to the credit bureaus for over a year. Credit Acceptance lied when they reported to CFPB under claim # XXXX that they listed my account as paid in full with a XXXX balance. Credit Acceptance false reporting is against the law and has prevented me from obtaining loans and credit accounts.
Credit Acceptance should immediately notify the reporting agencies to correct my account status to closed paid in full and leave out any and all derogatory remarks such as account settled for less than the full amount.

Complaint: MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE MADE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS WITH CREDIT ACCEPTANCE REGARDING OUR CAR LOAN ON XX/XX/XXXX. WE SPOKE WITH A SUPERVISOR AND EXPLAINED THAT DUE TO UNEXPECTED MEDICAL EXPENSES WE FELL BEHIND IN PAYMENTS. WE ARRANGED TO PAY {$470.00} ON XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX AND XX/XX/XXXX. PAYMENTS FOR XX/XX/XXXX AND XX/XX/XXXX HAVE BEEN PAID. THE XX/XX/XXXX PAYMENT IS SCHEDULED. WE HAVE FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH OUR PROMISE TO PAY. WE ARE BOTH ON SOCIAL SECURITY XXXX AND PAYMENTS WERE SCHEDULED FOR THE DATES OF OUR CHECKS. WE HAVE CONTACTED CREDIT ACCEPTANCE AND SENT IN WRITING AND EMAIL TO CEASE AND DESIST FROM THEIR EXCESSIVE CALLING. IN 3 HOURS WE RECEIVED 11 CALLS. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO NOTES ON OUR ACCOUNT RE : PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS. WE GAVE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. THE CONFIRMATION # WE WERE GIVEN BY THE INITIAL SUPERVISOR WE MADE THE ARRANGEMENTS WITH. Complaint: I recently reviewed my XXXX profile and found a hard inquiry from a " non-account '' holding creditor named Credit Acceptance and XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2018.
I've never gave permissable purpose thru verbal or written authorization to view my credit profile. This may be a case of predatory tactics often used by some auto dealers but without the consumers authorization. I've never received any type of confirming denial or approval of any loan I allegedly applied for with this company.
I wrote a letter to dispute the inquiry and requested proof from XXXX & Credit Acceptance of authorization by me or delete from my XXXX credit profile immediately! This hard inquiry is suppressing my credit score.

Complaint: Credit Acceptance has not resolved the issue of this account. First this account is too old to be reporting my credit. It was closed in XX/XX/2011. Furthermore they are saying that I was late when I never made a late payment. This account needs to be removed immediately.
Also when reporting a late payment, it should show when I was late. It does not.

Complaint: I request Credit Acceptance to update my account to correctly show that it is a closed account with the terms removed as it is showing I am obligated to pay {$380.00} a month. This account is closed and in collections. I purchased this vehicle in XX/XX/XXXX. I voluntary surrender this vehicle in XX/XX/XXXX. It is showing on my credit report as a closed account with remarks affected by natural disaster as to why I voluntarily surrendered it, and instead of the company removing the terms after reselling it ( which I never recieved the resale information ) this company is reporting monthly on this closed collection account as if I am making monthly payments and that I am not but it shows 67 % debt to income ratio. I have not made a payment nor am I going to. I contacted the lender for them to correct this as its reporting in accurately every single month. This creditor will not assist or correct it and I have contacted my State Attorney General as well.

Complaint: On XXXX i reported an auto accident in a private own location to XXXX insurance which days later XXXX declared my XXXX XXXX XXXX to be a total loss. XXXX agreed to pay off the car for a total of {$2900.00} but since the car was still under financing, the money would be redirected to the bank Credit Acceptance. The process took about 45 days in which I, without having a car, still continued to make monthly payments to the bank on time. Once the money from XXXX was sent to Credit Acceptance, the total amount was reduced. Credit Acceptance allowed me to pay the remaining balance in two installments. I made the payments on time and Credit Acceptance sent me a letter of XX/XX/XXXX stating that the contract has been canceled and that the account has been paid in full.
There have been countless times between XXXX and XXXX that I tried to apply for a car loan and I have all been denied until the end of XX/XX/XXXX when I made a last attempt to request a personal loan at the bank of XXXX XXXX which I am notified of the credit denial because the credit report showed a delinquent of fund that was sent to collection. I further requested my own credit check from XXXX and found that during the time of settling the debt with Credit Acceptance and XXXX, Credit Acceptance reported me as Potentially having Negative in payments and that they had taken it to collection. The report says that the payments were made from XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX and from XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX they took it to collection. This report contradicted it sent since, from the same report, It also indicated that I made the payment from XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX. I have never received any letters nor phone calls indicated that this had occurred throughout the duration of time that i still continued to pay for my car after the accident.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I called a representative from Credit Acceptance about what happened and their only response was that I have 30 days from today to dispute this claim but they are not able to change anything in my credit record. A bad report in my credit history at no fault of mine led me to the loss of time, employment, future projects and not only to me, but to my family as well.

Problem with the interest rate
Complaint: I purchased a vehicle through XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX ohio in XX/XX/XXXX. i purchased a XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX priced marked at XXXX selling price. I got approved through credit acceptance for a XXXX loan. It is now 2 years later and they are stating i still owe over XXXX for a XXXX vehicle. They never provide me with billing statements even after i have requested them numerous times. They just send a printout of my payment history. it doesnt have any info on interest rates, late fees, or why they loan amount keeps going up even with payments being made. I just recently made a XXXX dollar payment and they are still saying my vehicle is up for repossession. i need answers as to what is going on. I can never get a straight answer from any rep I speak with. They all say look at your finance papereork. But if they are my finance company, shouldnt they be able to tell me that information? Please help me.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I paid {$120.00} and the week prior I paid {$110.00}, totaling {$230.00}. I was supposed to pay {$210.00} on XX/XX/XXXX after my car was repossessed on XX/XX/XXXX. I paid them {$640.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and claimed the car from the repo agent on XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX while XXXX, a rider attacked me and XXXX put my Driver app on hold prohibiting my from making money in order to pay my bills. I spoke to XXXX at Credit Acceptance and she told me to pay {$290.00} by the XXXX and call back to make new arrangements. When I called today, XX/XX/XXXX a guy named XXXX said I needed to pay {$370.00} or my car would be disabled by tomorrow, Fri XX/XX/XXXX. I told him about my dispute with XXXX over my account being reported as " closed '' when in fact I just made 3 payments over the last 45 or so days and still had the car. He insisted my car would be disabled and offered no further help. I called back and asked for a Supervisor and a guy named XXXX took the call. He listened as I explained my situation and told him I was hired by a new employer and could begin making full payments once I was on payroll in XX/XX/XXXX. I also stated I wanted to make small payments from my XXXX earning since my app was back on. He then told me that " I hear you, but there's nothing I can do but notate your intentions. If {$370.00} isn't paid by tomorrow, your car could be disabled. '' Which is it, {$370.00} or {$370.00}? When Credit Acceptance reps don't threaten to disable the car in an attempt to force struggling customers to make larger payments, the company send a repo agent to force even larger payments and suggests I " ask someone to help me. '' I was lucky to get {$640.00} from a friend in XXXX. I'm not as lucky this month. I believe this company repossess cars fraudently, and not in compliance with the laws or financing agreement entered into between consumers and the company. They're deceptive. I simply want more time to pay and a more reasonable payment agreement based on the change in my financial ability since losing the XXXX income and waiting for my 1st pay check once I start the new job on XX/XX/XXXX. Any help the CFPB can offer is appreciated.

Problem related to refinancing
Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I requested a payoff amount on my auto loan through Credit Acceptance Corp, in XXXX Michigan. They faxed it to me, I then worked w/ my hometown bank to get a lower interest rate.
On XX/XX/XXXX my bank sent the requested amount ( attached is the check ) Credit Acceptance cashed the check on the XX/XX/XXXX of the month. I spoke to them on that date and they said there was a {$10.00} balance that they would just get rid of and close my account.
I thought the matter was closed.
On XX/XX/XXXX I received a " hit '' to my credit report, as did my husband, who is also on the account for the car.
I called Credit Acceptance and they said there was a balance and I was late for the payment ( according to documents attached, my payment is due on the XX/XX/XXXX of the month.
I told them I was told by them they were going to get rid of the {$10.00} and close the account, clearly they didn't do that. They agreed to the wipe of money but then I asked what about my credit hit I took. They stated it was a valid dock on my account because I was late.
If that were the case, I would have given them the {$10.00} that moment, but I do not deserve such a hit to my credit nor does my husband.
I am unable to help how quickly they cash a check, or receive by mail. My bank sent it in time.

Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX i received alert from XXXX that XXXX added a new account on my credit as a repo as if the repo had just happen, the repo was normal done in the later part of XXXX, but XXXX all Credit acceptance to report a XXXX repo as a freshly repo for XX/XX/XXXX dropping my score 53 points, and this was not a newly repo it was on my credit report before and i got it removed for inaccurate reporting from the company and XXXX before, so they added back this time as if it was new not as it was on my report before it was removed, the things i cant understand is that XXXX say they go by policy and procedures but when does it apply when its finacial benfincial to the company and XXXX are for the consumer, XXXX does not get true and accurate information from the company before reporting they just trust the company to report whatever they want damaging the consumers credit file and not caring, XXXX and XXXX has delete this account per the credit acceptance and also as a early exclusion the two companies states that the file will not report on my credit because of the age of account, but XXXX allowing the company to report inaccurate information on consumer report dropping my credit 53 points as a new repo when it was once on my credit before and remove for the same reasons

I reached out to General Sessions Court and the Attorney who was handling this matter and no one returned my calls. Told you not to respond to a lawsuit they filed against you
Complaint: To Whom It May Concern : I was served with a lawsuit on Sunday, XX/XX/2018 by the law offices of XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX on behalf of Credit Acceptance. I contacted the law office the following Monday in hopes to settle the debt. They stated that they would mail me a financial statement to be returned to them. I asked the representative ( XXXX XXXX ) if they would cancel the hearing until we got this matter resolved. I also asked her would I still need to file an answer with the court with the 15 day period that was stated on the lawsuit and she told me no ( which was not true ). Had I not filed an answer they would have gotten a default judgement against me. Credit Acceptance declined my settlement offer of {$2300.00} and responded with a counteroffer of {$4700.00} on XX/XX/2018. I contacted Credit Acceptance on Monday, XX/XX/2018 to ensure that once the settlement amount is paid that ( 1 ) the lawsuit will be dropped and ( 2 ) this account will be reported to all three credit bureaus as settled in full with {$0.00} due. I have been told by multiple agents with Credit Acceptance that this account will report as settled with a balance of the difference of the total amount due. When an account is settled it is supposed to show a zero balance. I have asked to speak with someone in the credit reporting department and have gotten the runaround several times. I have asked to speak with supervisors and was told I could only leave voicemails because they do not accept calls. I am willing to settle this account for the requested amount but only if it is reported correctly on my credit report. If it is not reported with a zero balance then they can technically come back and sue me for the remaining balance which is not settling an account. Thank you in advance for looking into this matter.
