Billing problem
Complaint: My loan with Credit acceptance was being taken out directly from my checking account. My bank removed the payment without notice therefore, I was unaware it was not being paid. By the time I discovered it my payments were behind several months. I have started giving higher payments since then. First payment was {$500.00} & then {$190.00} every 2 weeks. As you can see loan is going down? This is highly affecting my score & very unfair. Please help? Thank you

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account status incorrect
Complaint: I had a car loan through Credit Acceptance when my vehicle was totaled in a crash. I continued to make the monthly payments on-time each month until the loan was paid off. Credit Acceptance is incorrectly reporting a negative pay status on my credit report. This is the only account on my credit report that reports as a collection/chargeoff with a derogatory account status. When I called them they refused to change the reporting status on this paid account which causes me to be denied for new credit.

Problem with customer service

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit repair services

Complaint: To whom it may concern, Hello my name is XXXX XXXX, I am writing you in reference to a situation in which my affiliation through the auto finance company called Credit Acceptance Corporation has persistently dropped my credit score and caused me financial hardship. After much effort to correspond respectfully and amicably, with honest and genuine intentions of coming to an agreement that would remidy the negative information reported to all three credit bureaus. On XX/XX/2018, my employment contract ended as a pilot and there was a three month period in which i was unpaid before my first check from my current place of employment was received. After my payment in XX/XX/2018, I contacted Credit Acceptance Corp. to explain and warn them of my empending and inevitable situation, in an attempt to come to some polite agreement that would eliminate the possible late payment from hitting my credit score and possibly paying more in XX/XX/XXXX to catch up in good faith. To no avail ; I was rejected, and told that late is late, and there was no options for me. I paid them late one half the full payment, and struggleing to pay half, I was able to scrape the money up to pay half, after paying half the full monthly payment they reported to the bureaus that I was 60-90 days late a full payment which is incorrect. I have opted to submit a complaint with the CFPB in an effort stop the situation from worsening. I have called and on all three occasions been rudely turned down put on hold for as long as 45 minutes only to be told that whats done is done and there is nothing that I nor they could, or would do to reverse or rescind even lessen the impact of my late half of one payment. I am an upstanding, morally sound, honest American that I believe contributes positively to society. The customer service phone number is XXXX headquarters located in XXXX, MI. I am asking for help because I am unable to catch up on late bills with even the smallest consolidation loans with my current credit score impact, I have no where to turn for help, moreover the longer it negatively affects my credit, the longer I am unable to improve my situation or my dignity. Kind regards, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Billing problem
Complaint: On more than one occasion my payment cleared my bank and was not credited toward my loan. This caused payments to fall behind. I would catch up and then another payment would not be applied. I have provided the company with the bank statements showing the payment clearing in hopes they would correct the account-to date they have yet to do so. I make bimonthly payments every month to complete a full payment and the account continues to show past due with an unbelievable about of late fees and interest due. I would not be past due if the missing payments had been applied. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to pay the additional fees and payments again but have and will continue to make my $ XXXX monthly payment ( payment is {$570.00} XXXX. I contacted the company lasts month to discuss the possibility of adjusting the due date to bring me current in hopes of saving money in fees, I was told that since they were a second change lender that would not be an option.

Information belongs to someone else
Complaint: I filed an identity theft report, with the Federal Trade Commission, against Credit Acceptance for a loan for a vehicle that I do not own. I mailed the letter from FTC disputing the account on XX/XX/2019. The company calls me every day at least 3 times per day, I answer and they hang up without saying anything. They also mailed me a letter dated XX/XX/2019 stating the vehicle would be sold on XX/XX/2019 and to call them to learn the exact amount owed on the account to get the property back.

Managing the loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Loan

Problem with additional products or services purchased with the loan
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted my auto loan creditor, Credit Acceptance, in order to have them send the necessary paperwork to the XXXX DMV for new vehicle tags as I had recently moved from XXXX where I had originally financed the vehicle. On XX/XX/XXXX I attempted to register for new plates, after verifying the documents from Credit Acceptance had been sent to the DMV. The staff at the XXXX DMV notified me that the required documents were in fact, not sent to them. But instead, the Title Department apparently decided a non official document was equivalent - an assertation they maintained throughout all my communications with them until the end of XX/XX/XXXX. I was issued a temporary tag from the XXXX DMV which expired on XX/XX/XXXX. Pre-empting the pending expiration of my temporary tag, I contacted Credit Acceptance yet again. The Title department insisted they had sent the correct document, and hesitantly I decided to attempt the XXXX DMV yet again. The manager on duty at the XXXX DMV showed me the unofficial document which they would not honor, and said there was nothing that would be done until the proper document was received. So on XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Credit Acceptance yet again and received the same excuse " we were never sent the proper document from XXXX, this declaration should work. '' This was now the second time I had requested they obtain the proper document, but this was never acknowledged, nor was it acted upon by Credit Acceptance. On XX/XX/XXXX I applied for another temporary tag, and was issued it due to extenuating circumstances. On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted the Titles Department at Credit Acceptance and demanded that they obtain a new copy of the Notice of Security Interest Filing. I was told that the request was noted in my file and would be handled by the person assigned to it. On XX/XX/XXXX I paid for a copy of my part of the XXXX title ( hoping this also sent a new copy of the Lien Holder 's part to my creditor ). I received my copy within the week, and also inquired with the State of XXXX Department of Motor Vehicles if my transaction also sent new documents to my creditor. They answered within the same day that it did not. On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Credit Acceptance yet again, to verify their progress as I had received no communication from them. I discovered that nothing from my previous request had been recorded or acted upon. I had at this point now been paying for a car I was unable to use for over a month. It was at this time that I informed them I would not make another payment until they fulfilled their legal obligation in this matter, and provided the level of service which credit contract implied. I was assured that, the proper steps would be taken. I requested communication at the time of their receipt for the new Notice of Security Interest Filing from the State of XXXX, as well as a tracking number when they shipped the document to the XXXX DMV. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Credit Acceptance yet when asked the status of the Security fillings document, they still did not have it - although they now claimed that they were waiting for it from XXXX. I am now on my second month of paying for a car that I can not use due to either the apathy or ineptitude of the lien holder for my vehicle. In addition to having my access blocked to the property for which I have been paying. I have also been sporadically fined for failure to show current tags on my vehicle by the XXXX Department of Public works. I have now amassed over {$600.00} in fines. Spent over {$100.00} for temporary tags and title copies. I have lost over a dozen hours of work while waiting at the DMV to try to solve an issue that I am currently powerless over.
