Complaint: I have been fighting with Cavalry SPV I LLC regarding their practice of illegally re-aging my collection account in an effort to cause undo financial hardship on me. This seems to be a common practice with today 's debt collects where they buy a debt that has aged out 5-6 years and then re-report it on your credit report as of the date they purchase it. The problem is by law ( in most states ) the collection account is only valid on a personal credit report for a total of 7 years. When the collection company re-ages it, the consumers credit scores takes a significant drop ( in my case over XXXX points ) as the debt looks like it just went to collection. Secondly, they do this so they can have the debt on your credit report for an additional 7 years. This Company should be investigated for their practices not only in my case but in all the consumers they have affected. I have went thru the expense of hiring an attorney to assist in this as well but it seems to fall on deaf ears. The Company 's lawyer ( who I will list below for CFPB to contact ) claims her client knows nothing about the issue and refuses to address it. So here we are, hopefully the CFPB can address this promptly and all the consumers who have been violated under the law will take some form of satisfaction in seeing Cavalry SPV get what they have coming to them. {$1000.00} fine for each violation. The max allowable by law.

Debt is not mine
Complaint: A company named Cavalry SPV I , LLC claiming that they were acting as an assignee of XXXX to collect a debt that I do not owe. I never received anything from XXXX and did not and do not have a XXXX credit card. Cavalry SPV I, which is just one of many shell companies created by another company, more widely known as Cavalry Portfolio Services, LLC, never contacted me or even tried to notify me of anything. The first thing that I received was an actual complaint, filed with the courts, which took away my chance to Validate the Debt. They are using an attorney by the name of XXXX, he is actually using the name of a law firm that is not even registered to do business in New Jersey. He is using the name XXXX., which was formerly known as XXXX ;, that name is registered in New Jersey but I can not find out the status of that name, whether it is active, inactive or if they were simply shut down? They are seeking a relatively small amount, in my opinion they are trying to collect an amount that is less than what an attorney to fight it would cost, in the hopes I will settle. They have not followed state or federal law at any single point in this process and, after doing some research, I am now in the process of a legal battle over a debt that is not mine.

Debt was paid
Complaint: Calvary Portfolio is continuing to reporting an account which was paid & supposed to be removed..They claim it was settled but when I discussed the paying the account they said it would be deleted. The rep said it was called a paid for delete. I 'd like this item removed per the agreement ... They are not honoring the agreement & it is impacting my ability to get a loan ... I need it removed at once ... Additionally, I was informed they would be sending me a letter but I still have not received anything ... I think this is some form of bait & switch ... The account is damaging my credit. Please remove it

Not given enough info to verify debt
Complaint: I have been requesting Calvary Portfolio to send me a signed document or assignment that I owe their company this debt. To date, I have not received anything from Calvary Portfolio besides a copy of a bank statement. I have been requesting XXXX, XXXX and XXXX to verify the debt and the bureaus have been unable to. The only information I receive back is that the furnisher is providing that the information is accurate. I have attached correspondence dating back from XXXX XXXX, 2016 of disputes regarding this inaccurate information. I am unaware of any assignment of ownership that Calvary Portfolio has regarding this alleged debt. The furnisher has refused to send me the requested documentation.
