Complaint: Letter was sent from Carrington Mortgage dated on XXXX received Sat XXXX stating that my Mortgage was behind 30 days and if I do n't pay XXXX in 30 day they will start forclosure procedures, I mailed XXXX payment also, that payment have not posted to account, I also made online payment today XXXX for XXXX a they put this on my credit report I have never been late on my mortgage in 16 years a check was sent and received by Carrington Mortgage and deposited on XXXX, The account # written on the check were to post payment. which they clearly did not do. I have read complaints on how carrington does business I 'm clearing unhappy, They have not sent mortgage coupon so I have to send check in regular envelope and write the account number on check for the to post to account ...

Complaint: In XXXX we got a little behind on our mortgage payments with XXXX. We got caught back up but then they sold our mortgage to Carrington before we were able to apply for Mortgage assistance. We were transferred over to Carrington as of XX/XX/XXXX. I applied for mortgage assistance with Carrington in XXXX. I sent the required documentation via USPS on XX/XX/XXXX. I received a letter asking for additional documentation so I called and asked what they needed. I was told that my husband had not signed the signature page and that they needed more pay stubs from me. I get paid one time a month so I had only sent one stub. So, on XX/XX/XXXX I sent the completed packet once again with three months worth of paystubs via USPS. I also uploaded my paystubs to their website. I received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX claiming they are cancelling my application because I failed to provide the required documentation. When I called them on XX/XX/XXXX, the date I received this letter to find out what was going on and why they had not applied the checks they have been cashing to my account I was rudely informed that I had not turned in the required documentation on time and that they will not apply the money to my account until they have full payment. When I questioned what documents they had not received they told me my paystubs were not sufficient and that I needed to send in a letter explaining that I only get paid once a month. I informed the woman that it is clearly stated on the pay stubs the dates I am paid for. Long story short, I ended up hanging up on the woman because she was not listening. I called out local HUD agency and she referred me to you. SImply, I would like to reduce my mortgage payment because I am currently unable to pay {$950.00} per month and still maintain the other bills I have. I have requested they simply lower our 6.75 % interest rate, but they will not do that. I would like to receive mortgage assistance because I do not want to lose my home. My husband and I both work hard and have jobs, we are not trying to get out of paying our bills, we just need a little help right now. I do have documentation but it is all paper copies. If you would like me to send in my paper documentation I can. Thank you.

Complaint: Dear CFPB, I am a Veteran and I have filed a complaint that requires me to send documents explaining the case to the veteran 's military division of the CFPB, but I ca n't find the address for military complaints, I have 140 pages of evidence and statements, and I am worried that my complaint did not go to the military division. Currently Carrington Collection Agency who is impersonating mortgage servicers is using the 60 day continuation they asked for to commit additional debt collector harassment. Complaint: Carrington Mortgage services changed their payment address for bankruptcy accounts and did not inform their customers. I never received notice that my payment would not be received. When trying to understand why they did not contact me, all I received was the statement " because of the bankruptcy ''. This is an unfair practice and has exposed me to fees and possible failure to submit payments on time.

Complaint: In XX/XX/2016 the dept. of Hud had removed my pmi insurance as I reached the 76 % ratio.In XXXX XXXX sent me the hud statement that my pmi insurance was removed and also a statement of my new mortgage amount.It went from XXXX to XXXX.In the middle of XXXX XXXX. sent a notice of mortgage sale and transfer to Carrington mortgage services.I had received no paperwork from Carrington until middle to late XXXX. Since I had no paperwork, I had sent a payment of XXXX in early XXXX as not to be late.In late XXXX.Carrington sends me their mortgage statement with incorrect percentage on the transfer and they wanted the original amount of mortgage which was XXXX without including the pmi reduction.After many calls they refuse to acknowledge this.I have called repeatedly and also at their request faxed them the hud statement and the XXXX statements showing the mortgage reduction and change.After sending this information I still get absolutely nowhere.Now they requested that I write a letter explaining why I want the mortgage to be reduced.I have been right up front trying to resolve this problem but am being totally ignored.My rights have been violated and this transition is totally unprofessional.I as a customer should not have to be even involved .So now they said they have two months to resolve any issues.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I went onto www.carringtonms.com to make my mortgage statement. I have grace period to the XXXX to pay my mortgage but due to it being after that date my online payment included the {$50.00} late fee. I checked repeatedly to make sure that I input my routing number correctly and my bank account number and made sure the payment was submitted. I received a call on the XXXX of XXXX from someone at Carrington and I returned their call on the XXXX of XXXX. I spoke with a gentleman who informed me that they attempted to receive the payment and it came back account not found. I told him that I had made sure I input the correct information. I went ahead and made the payment over the phone that same. On the XXXX of XXXX I returned home from a business trip and opened a letter from Carrington dated XXXX/XXXX/XXXX stating that it was rejected for a account not found reason and stating that my payment must be in certified funds only although they received the payment by check on the XXXX, I called their customer service and spoke with XXXX representatives. The first told me that I had to make my payment today so that it would n't be late because they are closed on the weekend and Monday is a holiday. I told her I have until the XXXX to make a payment but I would go ahead and make it today. I went online to make the payment and saw that the payment due was $ XXXX.My payment is currently {$1200.00}. I was on the phone with a representative and told her what it showed. She told me that if I paid over the phone with her that I would save {$35.00} and that they had credited my account. she told me once I paid it to give her the confirmation number. I told her I did n't see where my bank account was refunded. She said that I would n't see it. It would be held in their ( Carrington Mortgage ) account as a credit until my next payment. I told her that I wanted my money back and I never gave Carrington permission to keep my money. She informed me in order to receive my money back I would have to show them a copy of my bank statement. I told her thats none of their business and why they needed to see my bank statement. I spoke with XXXX different representatives. XXXX hung up the phone, the other XXXX all said different things.I told them I just wanted someone to tell me the right thing. They all said Carrington does't give peopl 's money back and in order to do so they need to see a bank statement. I am pretty sure I put the correct information into the payment system the first time. A few years ago they told me the same thing at that time I thought they were credible now I do n't believe they are.When I checked my credit report today Carrington Mortgage had reported that I had missed a payment. That I owe {$1300.00} and that I am 60 days behind on my mortgage to XXXX

Complaint: I paid Carrington Mortgage Services {$300.00} on XX/XX/XXXX as a principal only payment and made my scheduled payment of {$340.00} on XX/XX/XXXX.
They decided to apply the {$300.00} to my scheduled payment. When I made my regular payment on XX/XX/XXXX they put {$300.00} on my principal and put {$46.00} in a suspense account. Then they raised my scheduled payment from {$340.00} to {$390.00} for XX/XX/XXXX.
I requested they correct this to the payments I wanted to make, but now when I phone in my last payment is XX/XX/XXXX.
Please ask them to apply the payments as I did them online, {$300.00} principal payment on XX/XX/XXXX and my regular payment of {$340.00} on XX/XX/XXXX.
Since they did not apply my payments the way I applied them I think another {$300.00} principal reduction at their expense should be applied effective XX/XX/XXXX.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX, I purchased a condo at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. After six months of living in the building, the developer had sold the remaining units and relinquished control of the building to the HOA. I did n't know this at the time, but the original lender, XXXX based in XXXX XXXX, Florida had falsified loan documents for many of the residents that purchased condos. Many of the new condo owners did n't even have jobs. So when it came time to pay the monthly HOA fees, only about XXXX % of the building 's residents were paying. By XX/XX/XXXX, the HOA had no money to maintain the building, and things started to get ugly. Elevators broke, vandalism ensued, trash was n't being collected and electricity was being turned off. It was at this point that I fled my condo and moved into an apartment. Two months later XX/XX/XXXX, the City of XXXX - for the first time in the history of the city - came in and condemned the building while occupants were still living in it. All units and building entrances were boarded up and the building has been in that state since then. I note that to this day, the City of XXXX has not given me anything in writing regarding the condemnation. When I went to the Dept of Unsafe Buildings XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX City Hall, I was told that they did n't condemn the building! Not sure who did, but this is what I 've had to work with.
My original loan with XXXX XXXX Mortgage, who was also charged with fraud in a number of other projects they did ( XXXX ) was sold to XXXX, which eventually became XXXX XXXX XXXX . XXXX XXXX XXXX held the note on my condo for six years and although I repeatedly tried to enter into a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure process, the bank was unwilling to assist. XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX sold my note to Carrington Mortgage Services, which then tried to foreclose on me XX/XX/XXXX. For some reason, the foreclosure was thrown out by the judge in court, so the process went to a standstill yet again.
It is now XX/XX/XXXX. I have been trying to foreclose or do a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure for NINE years. This process has caused immeasurable amounts of XXXX, has all but destroyed my credit, and has made it impossible for me to buy a home. While I have tried repeatedly to work with Carrington Mortgage Services regarding a deed-in-lieu, they continue to be unhelpful and uninformed. They call me every other week to ask when I am going to pay my debt. They mail me bills every other week as well. I can not pay off a mortgage that is tied to condemned asset as it can not be lived in, rented or sold. I am desperate for help and no longer know where to turn. Please assist if you are able.

Complaint: I am working on a short sale for clients. Carrington Mortgage is the lender we are working with. We currently have an offer and for the last 3 months Carrington is requesting documents that have been sent on numerous occasions. CMS shut file down back on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX because they claimed they did not have complete package - all documents were submitted on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and I verified receipt of docs on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. Since I was advised on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX that the file was shut down I resubmitted the ENTIRE package again. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX CMS still could not seem to get it together and I had to resubmit the entire package AGAIN. The current offer we have was received and sent over on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX - I verified receipt of everything, however CMS still claimed they did n't have XXXX, expense sheet and XXXX - they were resent AGAIN on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX - on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I was told the file was in underwriting and to call back in a week for an update. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I called - still under review, I was told they should have update later that week or the following week. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I was asked for taxes, household expenses and the XXXX - I provided dates these documents were sent and sent them AGAIN, this time they also asked for lease agreements from the borrowers. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I received leases from both borrowers and emailed them over to CMS. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, when I returned to the office I called for an update - CMS is asking for taxes, leases and expense sheets - I advised they were sent numerous times to BOTH email addresses AND faxed, provided dates and resent to email and fax AGAIN. I called in again today, XXXX/XXXX/XXXX for an update and they 're still asking me for the same docs. I do n't know how many times I have to send them the same information before they finally accept the documents but I 'm tired of the games. We may possibly lose a buyer due to their negligence. This is unacceptable and something needs to be done.

Complaint: In XXXX XXXX, I discovered during a telephone conversation that my mortgage had been acquired by Carrington Mortgage Services. This allegedly occurred in XXXX, but I was never notified. ( I did receive a couple of voicemail messages during that time, but I assumed it was a solicitation to refinance my mortgage because I had received calls from other companies for this purpose. ) During my initial phone conversation, I requested written verification via email of Carrington being the new mortgage servicer. This request was refused. When I asked to speak with another representative, I was told that my call could not be transferred and that I would have to call back. During my second telephone conversation with Carrington, I again requested information in writing via email or fax so I could confidently submit payment to the appropriate company. Again I was told this was n't possible, but was promised a request for this information would be submitted to that department. I was told this would be mailed to me within 7-10 business days. The representative indicated he could take a payment over the phone. When I told him I was uncomfortable doing that, he encouraged me to register on Carrington 's website. I did this, but the website did not allow me to access any information about my loan, nor would it allow me to make a payment. It showed my name and a loan number. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I contacted Carrington again to tell them I still had not received a statement or confirmation regarding the sale of my mortgage. Again, I requested something in writing via email or fax. I indicated that I would submit any payment due as soon as I received confirmation. I was yelled at by the employee and told that I did n't need to be worried about receiving anything in writing because my loan was in preforeclosure. I immediately asked to speak with someone else and was disconnected. I tried nine more times to call Carrington that day. Each time I entered in my account number, the call was immediately disconnected. When I finally got through to someone again, I was told that my loan was not in preforeclosure, as had been stated by the previous representative. This was obviously a falsehood and a scare tactic. She told me that she would send me information by email within 72 hours. She also indicated that payment could now only be made through certified funds via XXXX XXXX. When I asked for a more secure transfer ( bank to bank ), she provided me wiring information to XXXX. I have now received an email statement from Carrington, but still nothing in writing regarding the acquisition date, etc. Prior to this loan being acquired by Carrington, I was never even a day late on my mortgage payment. Payments were automatically drafted from my bank account. When I inquired about initiating this process with Carrington, I was told that it would be available only after the loan was brought current and remained current for a six month period!
