Complaint: I contacted Carrington Mortgage about my loan and spoke with XXXX his ID # is XXXX ... I explained to him how Carrington had lied to me about helping with my loan modification..Carrington refused to accept payments to bring my mortgage current. XXXX was very helpful and he said that he would send me a reinstatement letter and I should receive it by XX/XX/18. On XX/XX/18 I received a letter from an attorney saying Carrington is foreclosing on my home and God knows this is WRONG, illegally trying to foreclose on my home. Carrington, why did you lie to me? Im so upset. Im trying to stay in my home. I just dont understand a mortgage company refusing payments. Carrington, you promised you would work with me and suddenly you foreclose on my house? Im praying XXXX steps in and turn things around because this is not right.

Complaint: I filed a claim with my Insurance company, XXXX XXXX, in XX/XX/XXXX. The claim was for hail damage to my roof. XXXX XXXX came out, seen the damage and approved the claim. They sent me a check for {$5400.00}. It had my mortgage company too, Carrington Mortgage on the check due to having a current mortgage. I was told to call them once I receive my check to see how I can get the funds. I called Carrington on XX/XX/XXXX and they told me to sign the check, which I was adamant about but XXXX told me that's how it was done. She told me they could only hold the check for 2 days. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called to make sure my check was in the mail due to them receiving it XX/XX/XXXX. They said they are holding the funds, until I send them paperwork. They sent me a packet of papers to fill out after I mailed my signed check to them. They said I needed to get those in then they could give me 25 % of the check to start then they have to come out and make sure I'm doing it. Take in mind, my roof is leaking, so he's it will be done. I'm not that person to take the money and run. I argued and said that they need to train there employees because XXXX failed to tell me any of this. I called XX/XX/XXXX again, my contractor backed out because they haven't had to fill out paperwork and can't start the work with only 25 % down. So my fiancee and step dad talk and agree to get this roof done before any other damage. So on the XXXX I tell them I need the funds so I can get this fixed. They said I don't get the funds until I get a licensed contractor. After arguing and crying, I got no where. The paperwork states if my loan is current, the check is under 15,000, all I need to send them is the estimate from XXXX XXXX, the declaration of intent to repair and the UNENDORSED check. And that I could act as my own contractor so I don't need a licensed contractor unless the check is over 15,000. Well hmmm, they had me sign it, now are refusing to let me fix my roof. The funds are just enough to cover, because my roof isn't big. Another contractor bid was way over the amount I was getting. And other contractors are booked for several months. My roof needs fixed and I need my check. They lied and had me sign it and now are refusing to give me my funds. They can't tell me who can fix my roof, but now they have messed it all up. As of XX/XX/XXXX, they still have the check. They said they could only hold it for 2 days. They are a bunch of scams. I didn't choose this company, they bought out XXXX who I originally had my loan through.

Complaint: Our mortgage was transferred from XXXX XXXX XXXX to Carrington Mortgage. We had started a home modification with XXXX XXXX XXXX and, in XXXX when the transfer took place, we were two months behind on the mortgage but all that was left was to be approved by the underwriter.
A month later, we've had no contact from Carrington Mortgage except for them to request the same information we'd already submitted to XXXX XXXX XXXX. We finally get that fiasco straightened out and they set up the modification for our home loan. We were told that we'd make a payment in XXXX, XXXX and XXXX and be able to skip the XXXX payment and start again in XXXX.
We dutifully make our payments and, suddenly, now we're being told that we have to continue making payments until the modification is approved by the underwriters. This is on top of our credit report now showing we're 90-120 days behind on our mortgage which has impacted our daughter 's ability to obtain financial aid for college this year.
To make the situation even better, after making our required three monthly payments, in today 's mail we received a notice of Intent to Foreclose. I understood that any foreclosure action was put on hold while the modification process was ongoing. Apparently, Carrington Mortgage 's vision and mission statement involves lying to their customers. We were told multiple times that we would be able to miss the XXXX payment, only to be told that we need to continue making payments until the underwriter approves the modification. We started out being two months behind on our mortgage only to end up with our credit report showing we're 90-120 past due because Carrington and XXXX XXXX XXXX couldn't communicate which not only impacted us, but also our daughter 's college aid. We were told foreclosure actions would be on hold while the modification was going only to receive an Intent to Foreclose.
Absolutely nothing we've been told by Carrington Mortgage has happened the way they assured us it would. This modification was almost finished with XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX and it's XXXX and we're still trying to get this completed.

I have paid the fees in full {$810.00} cancelled check attached. Also attached is cancelled check for XX/XX/2018 payment proving that I am fully current.

Complaint: When I first began the process of attempting to resolve my mortgage issues, the Servicer was XXXX XXXX. As instructed, I completed numerous documents in hopes of obtaining a permanent loan modification.
During that time, and close to an anticipated resolution, servicing transferred to Carrington Mortgage Services ( Carrington ). It is here that I experienced more Servicer -caused hardship - and as a consequence, lost my property to Foreclosure Sale.
As I attempted to comply with Carrington 's new requirements - they proceeded with the Sale process, contrary to CFPB and HAMP guidelines. The original Servicer, XXXX XXXX, was the successful bidder, and now 'washes their hands ' of this matter.
As it now stands, I am still trying to resolve the matter with the Servicer ( Carrington ). Carrington stated that XXXX XXXX did not transfer the documents I submitted to them. XXXX XXXX states that all was submitted, but also, that I did not respond to all requests.
If the paragraph above was confusing, you can understand a little of how I feel. I want to keep my home, but dont know what else to do. My property is in limbo, as the title has not yet been issued. I am trying my best to keep my home and need your intercession.
To try to be as concise as possible, I attempted to resolve my default and foreclosure matters with the Servicer of my home loan. In good faith, I submitted various hardship assistance applications in hopes of resolution. Mid-attempt, the Servicing changed from a National Bank regulated by the OCC ( Office of the Comptroller of Currencies ) and subject several lawsuits and settlements germane to my plight to a collections company type, governed by you the CFPB.
I need you ( the CFPB ) to please research the history of these transactions including my timely submission of all requested documents and the non-review of the same. I requested this ( Servicing History ) of both Servicers, and was advised by XXXX XXXX, that the requested information was proprietary.

Complaint: We applied for a mortgage with Carrington Mortgage on XX/XX/2018. I first was in touch with XXXX XXXX in the XXXX Florida office. As the weeks went by and I tried to get in touch with XXXX XXXX she no longer worked there. They then told me XXXX XXXX took over XXXX XXXX 's files. Once XXXX start taking over the file it was issues of her not returning phone calls and her having an attitude. I put up with XXXX for a month until I can no longer take her attitude and rudeness. I then told her that we no longer wanted to work with her because of her attitude and her professionalism. I explained to her that we were going through enough trying to purchase the home and didn't need anything else to stress me out. I then asked her to pass our file alone to another loan officer who will understand our needs and get the file closed. She advised me that she can not do that she will pass the file to her supervisor which is XXXX XXXX. As weeks went by I called and emailed XXXX and he never responded back. I then XXXX Carrington Mortgage and a couple of loan officers came up I called each loan officer and ask him to put me in touch with XXXX or somebody else that's a supervisor. A week later XXXX called me and said he never got the messages or the emails which I have proof I sent. XXXX advised me that he will be taking over the file to try to get the loan closed. XXXX was very nice for the first couple of days and then he started being un- professional like XXXX not returning phone calls and having an attitude. When I first applied with Carrington Mortgage I explained to them that we were victims of identity theft and someone had stole our identity as we were trying to purchase this house. They advised me that it was okay that I had a fraud affidavit and I have proof that we were a victims of identity theft and they still can close on the house. They also have asked me to turn over the owner finance house that we were living in because we could not afford two mortgages. I did what they advise and I turned the house back over to mr . XXXX which I got it notarized. Mr XXXX said he would give us a couple of months until we were able to close on the house it is now going on XXXX and we will be homeless as of XX/XX/2018. XXXX sometimes call and email my Agent but will not communicate with us as Clients. I feel it's unfair that he sometimes explain what's going on with My Agent but not us. Please help I have a XXXX year old child and I'm so scared we will become homeless on Monday XX/XX/2018.
Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.

Complaint: Beginning XX/XX/XXXX, I entered into a re-payment plan with my mortgage company, Carrington Mortgage. I was having some trouble making the full payment amount. I contacted Carrington MS right away and explain to them that I needed some extra time to come up with XX/XX/XXXX payment. After speaking to them i was put on a re-payment plan. The repayment plan allowed me to divide XX/XX/XXXX payment out over the next 3 months payments. Instead of paying the regular payment for XX/XX/XXXX I paid that as well as a additional {$570.00}. As the next month approached, I realized that I could not make the regular payment of {$1400.00} as well as the additional {$570.00}. I called CMS back and discussed what my options were, I knew I could not afford to pay that- though I dearly wanted to just put this all behind me. After speaking to CMS it was arranged that I would make a payment for XX/XX/XXXX for {$1400.00}, a payment for XX/XX/XXXX of {$2200.00}, and in XX/XX/XXXX for {$2000.00}, and would go back to my regular payment in XX/XX/XXXX. Which I did. After looking at my credit report at the beginning of XX/XX/XXXX I noticed that CMS had reported from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX and was reflecting a 59 day late which plummeted my FICO score. I sent a certified letter and requested that they fix the error, my letter was received and CMS removed it from my credit reports.
In XX/XX/XXXX my wife and I decided that we would take out a HELOC to make upgrades to our home and pay some debt off since the market was booming and home values were sky-rocketing. After having our credit checked it was made clear to us that Carrington MS had yet again made another mistake and had once again reported to the credit bureau a 30 day late for XX/XX/XXXX. I again sent them a certified letter ( that is the only way you are allowed to dispute ) asking them to remove their error.
I received news today that they are denying my request to correct the mistake. I have all my bank details to show that there was not late payment in XX/XX/XXXX. The funds were drafted from my account on XX/XX/XXXX and on XX/XX/XXXX for a total payment amount of {$3000.00}. I have requested repeatedly to please send me a allocation of their payments with no avail.
In the state of Georgia, from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX all counties were considered disaster relief areas from hurricane Irma. I was assured by the customer service representative that I spoke to that it would not be an issue to correct the report due to the disaster relief area- if nothing else. I have been lied to and drug through the ringer with CMS. I have spent countless hours preparing letters and inquires to CMS.
There has been no clear understanding with Carrington MS since day number one. I simply want the mistake corrected.

Complaint: My problems with my mortgage lender has been ongoing for several years. It started when XXXX XXXX misled me at origination and coerced me into a negative amortization loan and then continued through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX and now Carrington. I feel that I am not getting a fair shake and not getting access to the federal, state and internal homeowner assistance programs that exist for people in my situation. As a result of this predatory loan and my business being crushed by the recession as well as hurricane damage I am way behind on my mortgage. I have tried many times to get reviewed for homeowner assistance programs but get conflicting information from my mortgage company and indifference. Carrington took over the loan a couple of months ago and it seems to be more of the same. I have had a good job for several years now and have recovered financially. This is a situation that could be resolved if Carrington were to fairly negotiate with me. I have been in my home for 25 years and don't want to lose it, but feel it slipping away because the lender will not even give me a chance.
In XX/XX/XXXX I had to deal with a major fire that damaged my home, and slowly rebuilt everything with the help of a construction loan. In XX/XX/XXXX the agents from XXXX XXXX ( predatory subprime lender who went out of business ) convinced me that as a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that a pick a pay loan was the way to go. I had no idea how this loan worked, nor the fact of how quickly and high the rate and payment could adjust as well as the actual balance increasing due to the negative amortization feature. Like many Americans, the recession hit me hard and my XXXX business struggled and eventually had to shut down. I was able to keep up with my financial obligations for the next couple of years because of my savings but once that was gone I was in a tough situation. I applied for help with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( who now held my loan ) and they did offer me a modification, however, the monthly payment was not even close to affordable based on my income at the time so this did me no good. My loan was then transferred to XXXX and I spent the better part of the next year chasing documents with them and never got anywhere. The loan was then transferred to XXXX XXXX. By this time I was gainfully employed as a XXXX at an event planning company and was in a position to afford a fair payment. I applied for help through XXXX XXXX, but it was an abyss -- transferred from department to department, the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing etc. Eventually I got into review and they told me that my application was denied because XXXX XXXX claimed they had made me a modification offer a few months prior and that I did not accept it -- so I was told that was the reason for the denial. How can I accept an offer I don't even know about??? It makes no sense. I did everything I could to try and get XXXX to reconsider and work with me based on the current financial situation but could not make any headway. The situation was made worse by damage to the property and especially the roof from the hurricane. XXXX XXXX was trying to claim some hugely inflated value without taking into consideration the damage.
I am sitting here with a good job and the means to make a fair mortgage payment. XXXX and XXXX were both terrible partners to work with, and despite my best efforts I still have no resolution. Based on my initial contact with Carrington it seems they are just as bad as these companies if not worse. I know that I am entitled to be reviewed and considered for federal, state and internal modification programs and I need them to work with me. All I want is an affordable modification so I can resolve this matter and pay on my debt. The situation is exacerbated by the predatory nature of the toxic loan that I am in.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I reached out to my mortgage company for assistance because of loss of income. I was working a XXXX XXXX and it ended in XX/XX/2018, so I fell behind on my mortgage payments. I reached out to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and they were willing to assist me during my hardship. We contacted Carrington Mortgage Company to confirm they would work with XXXX XXXX XXXX. They said " YES '' they would work with XXXX XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/2018 Ms. XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX contacted me to let me know that XXXX XXXX wanted to assist also and it would leave me with a balance of {$3300.00} to bring my account current. Yes, I felt XXXX had answered my prayer, finally help to get back on track. Ms. XXXX asked me to come into the office on XXXX XXXX so we could Speak with Carrington Mortgage about our plan to get the mortgage current. The Representative we spoke with was very negative, saying they could not accept our payments and my home would be going in foreclosure. I thought Mortgage Companies should be helping people stay in their home instead of trying to foreclose. Carrington agreed to working with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and now they refuse the payment so that they can foreclose on my home. I have never seen anything like this in my life. It's cruel for Carrington to foreclose on my home after they claimed they would work with me. It's obvious they do not have consciences. I do not want to lose my home. Carrington, why are you refusing payment when you agreed to working with XXXX XXXX XXXX? This is so WRONG!

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 my husband received a call from our Mortgage Company trying to talk us into refinance our loan. My husband stated he did not want to refinance the loan said no, the loan officer was told to speak with me, the wife. After hearing what the loan officer had to say, if we are interested we will call you. We didn't call him. Th loan officer toke it upon himself to begin the refinance process and mail a loan packet to us.
He had already insulted us. We have the right to refuse a re financing of our mortgage.
A credit application was sent to us with a new loan number and paper work to sign. my husband credit was ran without his permission, the loan application process was started without permission.
We faxed a cease and stop letter, on Friday XX/XX/2018 after the loan officer called back Friday morning. My husband stated he was not interested and he continue to try and presuade him into a loan harassing him to agree to somethings on the phone. My husband refused and hung up the phone. The loan officer then called my phone. I was unable to answer because I was at work. my husband called me and informed me of the call. I wrote the letter and faxed it to the mortgage company on Friday.
Today we revived the loan application packet, with a new loan application, and disclosure. We didn't ask for any of this. The loan officer used Bullying, harassing, and trying to presuade us into a new loan despite we didn't want it. he could not understand why anyone wouldn't take advantage of such a great opportunity. Why would you like to continue paying a higher rate? It makes no sense.
I don't like the implications, the insults, and don't like the fact he tried to force this refinancing on us. It is not right to harass someone because you want to get your numbers up. In addition mortgage companies should not pre-screen loan holders and harass them for their personal gain. if you send out a letter stating individuals can refinance or contact the mortgage if one 's choose to contact you one can. If one doesn't contact you, then they want your services.
