Complaint: My mortgage originated with XXXX in around XXXX. It the went to XXXX XXXX and the servicers were XXXX, then XXXX and now Carrington Mortgage Services. During these shifts I was told I was behind, which I do not remember ever not paying my mortgage ; however, I did ask for a modification with XXXX and was declined. At that time XXXX XXXX XXXX took over, then when XXXX took it I was again told I was behind. Due to their aggressiveness I filed a chapter XXXX in XXXX, with no other credit issues but the mortgage. I filed with a lawyer who made a comedy of errors and I had to retain new council. I was given the wrong amount for payment for close to two years and was sending in an underpayment. The bankruptcy court alerted my attorney and we made a plan to make larger payments to put it back in correct status. XXXX and Carrington both had representatives who verbally told me the amounts sent in from the trustee were a mess and needed to be audited ( repeatedly ). It also appears to me the trustee failed to pay a note or more than one note, as one of the attornies in the trustee 's office was fired.
While with XXXX, I asked for an accounting the rep told me an estimation, and I got the amount he gave of approximately {$2000.00} out of my XXXX to pay. He said they would do an audit and he estimated I would still owe approximately {$500.00}. It then went to Carrigington who gave me a bill for $ XXXX in XXXX or XXXX of XXXX which I paid. They then showed I didn't owe anything for several months when I looked on line, not sending me any statements. After a couple of months I started making payments by mail as they blocked me on line. I have no idea if their figures are correct, no one will give a full accounting for the life of the loan as I have requested from each of the servicers. I have tried to get information from Carrington including initiating a loss mitigation program with Carrington and that has failed. I have bills from Carrington which contradict each other in the amount I owe and I have received a foreclosure notice for a sale on XX/XX/XXXX. The problem is that I can not seem to determine what is actually owed on the mortgage to bring it current.

Complaint: Carrington Mortgage breached their contract with me by failing to auto-draft my monthly payment. As of result of Carrington Mortgage 's failure, they sent me a threatening letter entitled " Notice of Intent to Foreclose ''. I have never been late on my mortgage payments with Carrington Mortgage, and I currently have a XXXX FICO score. In fact, I have made multiple additional principal payments to this mortgage account this year.
Please see attached documentation showing the threatening foreclosure letter from Carrington Mortgage dated XX/XX/2018 as a well as a screenshot of my XXXX FICO score as provided by XXXX XXXX bank. When I called Carrington Mortgage, the representative advised me that the credit reporting agencies would reflect this negative credit item, despite it being Carrington Mortgage 's fault.

Complaint: I represent a homeowner in applying for a short sale, retention options and have a bonafide offer on the homeowners property. I original application process started in Late XXXX on 2018. I submitted the application and followed up several different times before the set auction date for the end of XXXX. In Late XXXX I was told that the application was not complete and needed to submit 2 consecutive paystubs, an updated RMA, and XXXX which I faxed into Carrington Mortgage on the XXXX and XXXX of XXXX. I followed up the first week of XXXX on Tuesday but their loss mitigation department was closed, so I called again on the XXXX of XXXX to find out that they had closed our file out. The representative told me that they had not received the requested documents, I asked the agent which documents they had not received because on two other occasions they had said the same thing but I had proof that the files had been faxed and received in PDF format from my email. The agent said that they were missing the paystubs that they had requested and also the XXXX which i also had proof that they were sent on the XXXX and XXXX of XXXX. I asked that they again review the files that I had already sent several times and set the file back up as being completed. At this point the seller is in jeopardy of losing her home to a foreclosure instead of being reviewed for retention options and a short sale.

Complaint: I have a loan with CARNGTN MTG. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting both XXXX, XXXX and CARNGTN MTG with no successful resolution. XXXX and XXXX were reporting me late. Complaint: In XX/XX/2018 my loan was with XXXX XXXX XXXX and I was in the process of applying for a loan modification and FHA partial Claim. In XX/XX/2018 after everything was submitted to XXXX XXXX XXXX, I got a letter from a company named Carrington Mortgage stating that they are going to be servicing my loan. I never received anything stating that Carrington Mortgage owns the loan, but only that they will be servicing the loan. They sent me a letter stating my loan modification packet was incomplete. I thought this was strange because I did not send one to them at the time, therefore I assumed that they were referring to the documents I sent XXXX XXXX XXXX when I applied for the loan modification and FHA partial claim. I completed a brand-new loan assistance request package and sent all required documents and a complete package to them by their XX/XX/2018 deadline. I faxed the documents, uploaded it directly to their portal and mailed it to them to ensure that they have everything they asked me for. By XX/XX/XXXX they had closed my loan assistance file and denied my request stating that they did not receive all the documents that they asked for. This was a complete lie and I feel that they had no intentions on following my request for assistance because by XX/XX/2018 they filed documents to foreclose on my home. As an FHA borrower I have a right to be considered for mortgage assistance and to request an FHA partial claim. This company pre-maturely closed my loan assistance request and failed to state exactly what I did not provide which made my request for help to be denied. Nor did I receive any correspondence that would allow me to correct or appeal their decision before they filed for foreclosure. Please see attached statement from Carrington Mortgage stating the following : " Within 5 business days, CMS will review what you have submitted and will let you know if your application is complete or if items are still needed. Once your application is confirmed complete, CMS will review your application and provide you a decision within 30 calendar days. '' This step was never offered or done in my case, Carrington Mortgage closed my file and moved straight to foreclosure without ever telling me what was missing so that I can appeal or provide any missing documentation. When I called them on XX/XX/2018 the representative could not tell me why my request was denied either. All she could say is that they package was not complete with no further clarification. I am requesting that a thorough investigation be done on the practices and the process of my request for mortgage assistance. Also, Carrington Mortgage has added bogus charges to my monthly statement as highlighted on the statements for XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. I received no proof or written explanations of the bogus property registration charges and utilities billed on my property. I am disputing these charges and would like them removed from my statement amount. Further, I request that all foreclosure proceeding be stopped and to allow me ample time to provide any additional information they are requesting that they failed to specify when they denied my request for assistance. I further request that they allow me the opportunity to reinstate my loan as well.
I believe a fair resolution would be for Carrington Mortgage to first provide that they own my loan, and that they give me ample time to provide any missing documents they need to process my loan assistance request. Further, I want them to stop all foreclosure proceedings until they allow me the ample and fair time to get my loan assistance request processed for an FHA partial claim.

Complaint: I am having ongoing problems with getting Carrington Mortgage Services, who just purchased my load in XX/XX/XXXX, to post my XX/XX/XXXX payment correctly. I received my statement today, and it had a {$5.00} overdue payment charged. In XX/XX/XXXX, I paid my normal payment, plus an extra {$100.00} through my normal recurring autodeduct. This payment was deducted as scheduled on XX/XX/XXXX and was not late. I also made an additional payment of {$1000.00} via Carrington 's website. This payment also posted on XX/XX/XXXX. The incorrect posting of the {$1000.00} is the subject of a different complaint, still unresolved. Carrington charges {$5.00} to make an extra payment on the website, and I accepted this fee. However, it is incorrect to record it as an " overdue payment '' when the account is not overdue. I called customer " service '' to discuss this issue, and I was told that Carrington knows the account is not overdue and all fees default to the " overdue payment '' category on the website.
This is completely ridiculous. I am not comfortable having a shady company such as Carrington record a bunch of overdue account fees to my ten-years-ahead-of-schedule and never late account. A reputable mortgage servicer should have the ability to differentiate between a fee charged for making an extra payment versus a fee charged for having an overdue account.
To complicate things even further, the payment history screen on Carrington 's website is completely unintelligible ( printout attached ). I am receiving statements that are wrong, the website is wrong, and fees and payments are not being applied to the correct categories. They have only had my mortgage for three months, and I am already having a hard time keeping track of the mortgage balance.

Complaint: I have been working with the Short Sale Lender for almost 6 months to try to close this short sale. The previous Buyer walked but I recently received an offer from another Buyer around the same time that the Servicer assigned a foreclosure date on the house. The Servicer is refusing to postpone the foreclosure date and will not review the short sale offer despite us sending over all the documents they need to review the file for a short sale. We also requested an updated value to be done to the house but the Servicer responded that they needed an offer first before an updated value could be ordered which was a difficult position they put me through because the property was marketed for a long time and could not get an offer at the amount that the Servicer set the value for. So this was like a catch-22 and when the Servicer assigned a foreclosure date for the house, we could not convince them to order a new value despite the fact that they knew that the property needed many repairs, and that it was on the market for months before a 2nd offer was received.

Complaint: I have made extra payments to my mortgage regularly. In XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX sold my mortgage to Carrington Mortgage Services. Since I have not yet made an extra payment with Carrington, I called last week to ask them how to make an extra payment and have it applied to the principal. They told me to go online and select " additional payment, '' and it would automatically be applied to the principal. I did, and my extra payment was applied mostly as a monthly prepayment, with only {$46.00} going to the principal. There are already thousands of complaints posted against Carrington for finding creative ways to make sure your extra payments don't go towards the principal. Why hasn't this company been shut down????
