Complaint: As part of my USAirways Barclaycard account, I was eligible to receive elite status qualifying miles on my US Airways frequent flyer account should I reach an annual spending level of greater than {$40000.00}. In XXXX and XXXX, I received those miles based on achieving the spending level threshold in the prior year. The mileage posting usually occurred during the XXXX period in the year subsequent to achieving the spending threshold. I once again exceeded the spending level during XXXX, but as of this date have not received the elite mileage status posted to my US Airways account. As the merger between US Airways and XXXX XXXX has now moved forward to include the frequent flyer programs, I have made inquiries to both airlines in search of a satisfactory resolution. While each have pursued the research associated with elite mile postings, I have not heard back from either airline and not received confirmation from Barclaycard to confirm that they have taken the steps necessary to trigger the benefit that results from owning their credit card.

Follow up with recipient ( a relative ) of my directed cash rebate indicated it has not yet been applied. Complaint: I just called and spoke to a representative by the name of XXXX, ID # XXXX, and she confirmed that the document, which is my XXXX XXXX Bank statement, her department actually received it on XXXX XXXX, 2015. She did not understand how a supervisor or her other fellow employees that I 've spoke to over the past could not locate it. She was nice to clear all of the security issues. At that time, she informed me that her company, Barclay Bank were going to approve me for a {$2500.00} credit card. I explained to XXXX that I was originally approved for a {$4000.00} credit card. This is when she transferred me over to the credit card customer service department and I spoke to a rep by the name of XXXX. XXXX informed me that he could not issue me a credit card at this time because he felt like I had not enough credit when in actuality, I have over 6 years worth of credit showing on my credit report.
It was just very frustrating to wait for almost 4 months for XXXX Bank 's security department to locate all of my personal information only to be transferred to this rep in the credit card department for him to tell me that I do n't qualify for any of their many credit cards.
Why would the same credit card department originally approve me for a {$4000.00} credit card back in XXXX on to have told me on XXXX XXXX that I do n't qualify.
I called the President 's office of Barclay Bank right now and tried to speak to XXXX, but he was on vacation and would n't be returning back to work not until Monday so the rep I was speaking to transferred me to the manager of the credit card department.
XXXX, which is the manager in the credit department is re-reviewing my application again and she is claiming because I do n't have enough credit history. She informed me that her departments does not just look at the credit score, or the fact that I 've never been late on any of my student loans, or car note, or anything like that ; that was still not good enough for me to obtain a credit card through their company.
I 've never heard of any bank state that they do n't go off of credit scores to determine eligibility for a credit card.
I wanted to cancel my application on many occasions but I was told that I could not cancel because I was approved. I was told this by supervisors in the security department as well as reps in he security department.
I really just do n't understand why I was sent through that long process only to be told that I did not get approved.
This should have been told to me at the beginning. I would not have been wasting my time or theres!

Complaint: I called Barclay and closed my credit card months ago. Paid the amount the woman on the line noted and I thought I was done. Then months later I get an email that there is a balance? I call them and they will not help me without the card number. I do not have the card number and destroyed everything to do with it. Then they ask for my SSN #, birthdate, and everything else and then hang up. Barclays shared my information with at least XXXX other support firms around the World and are encouraging identity theft with their practices. Why do I have to give up all of this info for an inquiry? How do I resolve this matter when I give the info and they hang up. They used XXXX for their login page and ask for your SSN #, when XXXX IS NOT SECURE? BARCLAYS IS A SCAM!!!!!!! They have no desire to resolve the matter and certainly enjoy the encouragement of personal identity theft!
