Complaint: I tried opening a bank of America account and was told I could not and had to call this 800 # to BOA when I called I was told I could never open an account with BOA because of an account that was closed in XX/XX/2006 by loss prevention I don't even remember having a accounts with bank of America they could not give me a reason why the account was closed or any details as to what happened. The girl got really short with me and just kept on saying " sorry you can't ever open an account '' if this was a fraudulent account should I not have the right to get more than just being band for life from a bank. are they discriminating against me because I'm XXXX or none American born.

Credit card company won't increase or decrease your credit limit
Complaint: I am XXXX and recently had to purchase promotional services for my social media for a total of XXXX USD. Being such a great offer for my business, I couldn't pass up the opportunity and decided to split the payment and make it through my XXXX XXXX charge card and my Bank of America credit card. I never passed any limit on these cards, however, my credit score was recently hit with a deduction of 42 points. As a person who is XXXX, a lower credit score will hinder me getting higher operating capital needed to make my business thrive. I'd appreciate someone's help with this.
I've never ever missed a payment in my life and my current balance on these credit cards is close to zero ( they've already been paid off ).

Problem with customer service
Complaint: Over the XXXX XXXX weekend I completely paid off my Bank of America credit card to the tune of {$7500.00}. We're in the process of paying off all of our debt and I called BofA to ask about transferring some balances to my newly paid off card. The woman I spoke with was more than happy to help me until I mentioned my husband. We're a XXXX couple. Immediately her tone changed and she made a XXXX remark. When asked about household income she said only my income and not my husband 's income was a factor, and then she put me on hold. When she returned she informed me that BofA no longer wished to do business with me, no longer valued me as a customer. In all of my years I've never missed a payment. Complaint: I bank with Bank of America. I deposited a check through the mobile app on XX/XX/XXXX.19 ( XXXX XXXX ), in which an immediate 7 day hold was placed. The bank was closed when I made this deposit due to the holiday. I called them on XXXX19 to inquire why there was a hold, where they told me to call back on XX/XX/XXXX.19 when the check had posted and they were able to look at the picture. When I spoke with them the morning of XX/XX/XXXX.19 they informed me that the bank the check was from is holding the funds and making them unavailable for 7 days. At this point I called the bank the check was issued from and they said that the funds had already been released and sent from the account the check was written from. I called Bank of America back and they now are telling me they are holding it for fraudulent activity and they are allowed to hold the funds for 10 days for that reason. So I have received 2 different answers and they wont inform me what fraudulent activity is causing the hold.

Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Complaint: I bank with Bank of America and to be honest this happens so often that I can't keep track of every time it's happened in anything like a fast response, but I can confirm that it is currently happening on my account in the last few days.
Specifically, a handfull of purchases made on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX have been moved out of order in my checking account under the premise of " processing '' for the explicit intent of filing overdraft finance charges despite having been made when the account was positive and before the overdrafting charge was automatically withdrawn.
The overdrafting charge already received an overdraft finance charge, which I acknowledge and approve, resulting in that charge being finished processing IMMEDIATELY.
My account was then " adjusted '' to push the other charges out as though they had JUST been processed and would be subject to " new '' overdraft charges. This " adjustment '' happens regularly when a large charge overdrafts in after smaller pending charges from up to a week prior and has once even humorously led to overdraft charges being accessed when the account later reads as being positive that entire time because of a deposit made to cover the difference. They also won't acknowledge processing direct deposits as covering the amount as they would any other processing check, even when the deposit was made 1 or more day before.
I spoke with the bank about this and they complained that the merchant must have filed them at a different time than when I charged the account. When I informed them that it was done automatically and the merchant had already sent me acknowledgments that the payment was processed/received they said the charges were made on a holiday ( XXXX XXXX a working holiday ) or held over from the weekend so no one was available to process the charges, despite the entire process being electronic and their own logic dictating that the charges should have been processed alongside the overdrafting charge or in the 2 days following.
When I pressed further, explaining I just didn't want to be charged an overdraft fee for charges that aren't overdrafts just because they were moved " ahead '' of the actual troublemaking charge, I was hung up on. I called back and was told I would just have to eat the charge and was hung up on again ( or rather transferred to the fraud department without request so the account doesn't reflect the agent hanging up on me ). The fraud department also wouldn't help.
A second issue I was having at the time was that I was concerned a large sum of money was being moved through the account without being reflected online and was at times triggering the keep the change program on the account to remove an unusually high amount from the account ( {$7.00} instead of {$.00} ) without a correspondingly large transaction being made and this amount ( {$7.00} ) would disappear from the entire account for 8-12 hours ( potentially causing new overdraft fees from processing payments ). I knew it wasn't just a keep the change issue because given how driven they are about getting fees ( see above ) they at times around this " error '' won't process overdraft fees as if the account had enough to cover at least that amount. When I laid out this issue I was again hung up on by the specialist.
I have brought these issues up with the bank multiple times over the last year receiving multiple versions of the " weekend '' excuse ( on a Thursday ), the " blame the merchant '' excuse ( my favorite being that they are waiting for the merchant to give them a different amount from what I authorized and wouldn't acknowledge my removal of authorization to any charge over the authorized amount because it would be fraudulent ), or just told in no uncertain terms to just " eat it ''. This problem has led to me " eating '' hundreds of dollars in such charges throughout the year, snowballing into MORE of such charges, ever since I began receiving my paychecks on a weekly basis. I can't change how I'm paid, but I shouldn't have to just expect that my bank can't properly manage my money without trying to commit accounting fraud to skim money from me.

Complaint: To who may concerns this is happen on XX/XX/2019 i had made a reservation online through XXXX dated for XX/XX/2019 i purchased two tickets with XXXX XXXX for my parents coming from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX ca the layover on both ticket were only 3:05hrs and than all of the sudden after purchasing both tickets i got an email from XXXX says XXXX change the layover to 13hrs instead of 3:05hrs so i called XXXX to ask them what happend i got the answer back those changes were made from XXXX XXXX and XXXX only third party i was on the phone with XXXX for about 4hrs trying to find a solution after going back and forth i request a refund for my transaction i was told from XXXX representative they are unable to refund the transaction they have to reach out to XXXX XXXX which they did and XXXX XXXX refused to reverse the transaction so i went and called my credit card merchant services XX/XX/2019 i requested dispute i got the transaction refunded and i went and reserved another ticket through XXXX XXXX dated on XX/XX/2019 so my parents did not traveled on XX/XX/2019 with XXXX XXXX they went on XXXX XXXX instead after that i received a letter from my merchant services on XX/XX/2019 says that i need respond on by XX/XX/2019 and send the evidence of what happens which i did mail it back XXXX and i wrote statement stated the whole situation and a copy of both tickets as an evidence that my parents did not travel with XXXX XXXX merchant services they mailed me back a letter saying they are unable resolve this matter and they wont be able to reopen the case anymore because their claiming that they received the evidence very late which is not my fault iv got late respond from them now if i disputed the transaction because it's my right i spoke with XXXX bank of america representative she mentioned to me no body worked on my case i got charge back and i don't see it right i really need your help please immediately because i tried to reach back to bank of america merchant services they keep me on hold for a long time till the line hangs up by it self my case number XXXX sincerely XXXX XXXX the fair resolution for this matter i should not be getting charge back because as a consumer i did what i spouse to do i had give them enough time i reported the transaction before the travel date to take action but unfortunately no body worked on my case that i reported to bank of america merchant services if i was advised from the bank of america credit card representative that they were unable to protect their clients from XXXX XXXX scams i would never went and reserved another tickets with different airlines

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I purchased two items from the duty free shop in XXXX XXXX using my Bank of America Travel Rewards credit card. Total amount for the transaction was XXXX euros. I have the receipt as proof. With the exchange rate at the time, it came to about {$410.00}. However, my credit card was charged {$470.00}. So I disputed the difference, which is {$61.00}.
During the dispute process, the merchant provided Bank of America two receipts. One for XXXX euros ( the one I also have ), and a second receipt that I was never made aware of at all and for a different amount. Based on that second receipt, Bank of America decided to rule in the merchant 's favor.
As mentioned above, I was never made aware during the sale that I would be charged a different amount than that of the receipt originally provided to me ( for the XXXX euros ). Furthermore, I don't understand why Bank of America isn't concerned that two completely different receipts are being provided to them from the merchant, and Bank of America is only going to consider the second receipt when making their decision.

Complaint: I paid off my BofA cards ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX ) in XX/XX/XXXX with funds from my HELOC from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. BofA received the funds and place a hold on the funds. They didn't notify me that the funds were received nor a hold was placed. I contacted them and was never told a hold was placed on the payment. I contacted XXXX XXXX and was told the fund clear on XX/XX/XXXX. We called on a 3-way call and confirmed the funds with BofA. BofA still didn't remove the entire amount only XXXX and still owed XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX, they wire transfer me the balance after several requests. After that, they closed all my accounts and label my account for money laundering. I had an XXXX score. They allowed me to pay off my balance, increase my credit lines use the account to consolidate my business, personal and do a real estate deal and then accused me of money laundering. I believed I was XXXX discriminate against without cause because of XXXX and XXXX last name.
I called in several complaints of trouble signing to my account, My account had been hacked and I reported the email to XXXX. My account had been locked out several times they didn't help nor listen to me. They ruin my credit and I had to take more money from HELOC to pay down my limits to salvage my credit. They never explained to me the reason for the hold on my account. So I stop leaving my funds in the account. As of today I still don't understand the treatment I have received from BofA after 17 years during business with BofA.
