Complaint: Removing a 30 day late recorded in XX/XX/16 and removing a 60 day late recorded in XX/XX/16. I had opened up a secure credit card and began using it to help build my credit rating. I was told to use it and then pay it off every month to maximize my score. I had maintained a {$0.00} balance for almost two years on this credit card. One day I was notified that I had an outstanding balance and that it hadnt been paid for 2 months. I called to inquire about this outstanding balance because I had always paid it to {$0.00}. I was given no answers on what the charge was for and had my credit significantly lowered as a result of this mistake. I am unable to get anyone to provide details on why these late payments were recorded on my credit profile. This is severely impacting my credit score and prohibiting me from securing financing on a home loan.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I went into Bank of America, in order to open a representative payee account. We discussed with the Banker a broad range of topics to meet my family 's future financial goals, including, but, not limited too, plans to purchase a home, plans for my children 's college educations and plans regarding my business. I am a business owner who has recently become XXXX and desired to know what the bank offered as far as business financial services. XXXX XXXX, Relationship Manager Business Owner Specialist is the Banker that opened the account. He opened the account in XXXX, GA. Unfortunately, XXXX treated me in a discriminative manner. I bought a Representative Payee with me to open the account. I requested information about mortgages. To this day, no help has been provided from the equal housing lender. The representative payee has not given me the debit card for the account, instead has done something else with it.

Complaint: I attempted to file a dispute online with my bank, Bank of America, but I was instructed to contact a CSR. I called the CSR and explained why I was submitting the dispute and explained that I tried to rectify the issue prior to disputing the charge. The CSR said that Bank of America was concerned with the number of disputes that I have submitted and that they would penalize me by closing my account and not allowing me to open another one if I dispute anything else. I explained to him that this was unfair since I try to resolve disputes prior to contacting them or even getting them involved. Additionally, I explained that it was unfair that I was going to experience a punitive action because I chose to use a service availed to me by them. Additionally, there is nothing stated that a person could lose access to their account and be permanently barred from additional accounts if one decided to use a service that is not only availed to them, but a service that CSR 's encourage you to use.

Struggling to pay mortgage

Complaint: mortgage # XXXX Bank of America I had problems paying my home equity line of credit after the initial time period ran out. i asked for a modification from B/A. ( XX/XX/XXXX ) They have been delaying and procrastinating on my modification for over 2 years now. I have had all sorts of crazy letters some told me to disregard, and one day it is denied and the next it is in appeals and the next it needs paperwork. FINALLY after many arguments with the case workers, i was offered a modification.- upon looking at the modification, I called the bank as they put escrow into it and i had told them 100 times i pay my own as my first mortgage is paid off. They refused to do the modification without the escrow. Finally after agreeing to take it off, I was told that i should make the payment with the escrow amount not in it. I made the 3 trial payments, then when i was trying to make the 4th payment, ( See additional complaint file here ) the rep took out 8 payments immediately ( by mistake ) which totaled over {$3000.00} This amount overdrew my checking account and as a result, the overdraft was taken out of my savings, depleting it and bouncing checks. I had to borrow {$500.00} immediately to cover the other checks. One bounced but B/A finally returned the bounce fee and returned the 8 payments. afterward i attempted to pay the 4th payment of the modification at which time they refused to take the payment without the escrow. Then in XX/XX/XXXX they sent another modification, i called on that one and was told do not make a payment until the escrow amount is taken off the amount. Finally after talking to about 10 different people, i was told to sign the new modification and mail it back. By this time it was XX/XX/XXXX ( it was supposed to be returned by the end of XX/XX/XXXX) They said it was ok to get it back late. I returned it and after several days, i got a notice that i was denied. I asked why they gave me several reasons, no flood insurance, no homeowners insurance, the date was XX/XX/XXXX instead of the way they wanted it to be.The latest after i spoke to XXXX was that i need to pay 3 months back from the time they told me NOT to pay until i get paperwork and they can restore the modification. I am uneasy as the LAST statement said I was denied. I asked them to give me NEW paperwork indicating that I do have a legal modification and I will start paying that amount when I get the new paperwork. I do not have the past 3 payments as they told me not to pay and I used that money as I was told to pay when i get the paperwork. My solution which i have called about several times and in fact tried to call Mr. XXXX XXXX Regulatory complaint dept. XXXX and he does not call me back during the hours i am at home. I want an updated modification with the amount of payment starting from the next month along with the amount not including escrow. I would appreciate any assistance you can provide. thank you

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 fraudulent charges were made on my Bank of America credit card. Several different charges and different amounts were made, all of them to XXXX XXXX. Halfway thru the charges being done it was flagged as fraud due to the large amount. I spoke with the company and confirmed it was fraudulent and they took immediate action. Unfortunately this caused further confusion on the account as some charges went thru, some did not, and then on top of it XXXX XXXX refunded some of the charges. It appeared that our account went up approximately {$4000.00} dollars before the claim was handled and credited. On XX/XX/XXXX we received correspondence from the credit card company that the merchant had credited us for {$1900.00} so they were going to reverse the credit they gave us. We then received a second correspondence on XX/XX/XXXX that they had completed their investigation and it was considered closed. On XX/XX/2019 they added {$4300.00} onto our credit card balance stating that they had double credited us in XX/XX/XXXXand added back interest as well as other fees onto our account. Since the claim was already closed how are they able to still claim we were double credited? I could not find evidence that we were double credited and even if we were why are we being punished for their mistake through the fees and interest?

Complaint: I've been having problem with Bank of America for a little while now with the same issue, hold being put on deposited check with no consistent explanation, and none that makes sense. I deposited a check for {$42000.00} on Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX at the cashier at the bank. I was told that the funds would be available next day. For reasons still to be explained the money was put on hold. Nobody can inform me why and for how long. I've checked with the vendor and the money has already cleared their account. I have eleven subcontractors waiting to be paid, items are being returned and fees being accessed at my other account because our money is nowhere to be found. I have experienced the same problem over and over for the last five months. Every time they have a different explanation, account have on the red for the last month, low daily balance, number of overdraft fees accessed for the last 12 months, and list of excuses goes on and on.

Complaint: I opened a checking account through Bank of America on XX/XX/2019 for my unemployment direct deposit of {$190.00} every two weeks. At the time when I opened the account the associate stated there was no monthly maintenance fee as long a a total of deposits were {$250.00} or more per month. I called to confirm with another associate and they also confirmed there would be no monthly maintenance fee for the amount I was having deposited by my unemployment check of {$190.00}. On the third month I was charged a maintenance fee of {$12.00} and the associate was unsure of why I was never charged the first two months and why there was a fee that month so she reversed the fee of {$12.00}. The follow month there was a {$12.00} maintenance fee so I ended up closing the account on XX/XX/2019.

Complaint: I have been waiting for unemployment benefits for two mos. I discovered yesterday that the BofA Government card issued went to an address that I have not lived at for over 4 years. ( As a side : I have a personal BofA card with the correct address ). When speaking with the customer service representative she apologized as she could see that my address was not confirmed prior to the card being sent out. She re-processed the card with the correct address and told me it would be 10 days to receive. When I asked if she could expidite the process because I do not have a job and do not have many resources, she said there would be a fee of {$13.00} for this. I asked if that could be waived due to the card being issued without any sort of contact about an address over 4 years old. Her supervisor said no, and offered to speak with me personally. When I asked for consideration due to the error on the bank end, and my situation, I was told no again. I had just indicated to the supervisor that my job was eliminated over 8 weeks ago, that I really needed the funds as I had been waiting for so long, and he said that he would be " happy to take the fee out of the funds on the card and expedite ''. Having been in multiple consumer service related positions I was shocked at the non compassionate and goading stance of the supervisor - His name is XXXX. Consumer experience training and lesson in compassion needed at the BofA Government card center. What a horrible experience. Maybe he will kick some puppies on the way home!
