Debt collection: Medical debt

Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged
Complaint: After sending a " request for validation '' letter to Automated Collection Services Inc. XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX, TN XXXX in XXXX of 2019, I received back a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX that have 3 separate letters with 3 separate accounts attached that I received back on XX/XX/2019. Also along with the letters are attached copies of my medical records. However, none of the letters have any form of my signature that is required to " validate '' the requested debt. Furthermore, according to the FCRA ( Fair Credit Reporting Act ) Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), you are required by federal law to verify through the physical verification of the originally signed consumer contract-any and all accounts for your credit report. Otherwise, anyone paying for your reporting services could fax, mail, or email in a fraudulent account. Unless receiving a signed document with my signature, this company is currently in violation of my HIPPA rights under federal law.

Struggling to repay your loan

Student loan: Federal student loan servicing

Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: A company called ACSI who also identifies themselves as XXXX XXXX XXXX assistance has been sending me letters demanding that I repay my student loan debt and threatening to garnish my wages. They claim to own the debt now and arbitrarily added almost {$25000.00} to my original student loan claiming that it was for penalties. I explained my financial situation and that I am on XXXX, having been out of work for over a year now. I sent them my financial disclosure information but they insist that they will garnish my wages for 15 % despite the fact that I am on XXXX and that my wages have been drastically reduced down to 60 %. They claim I make more than what they think I should be allowed but they're not taking into consideration the amount of my income that has to be set aside for taxes. I'm working on getting documentation from my XXXX insurance company on how much the taxes are going to be in to have them automatically deducted from my monthly pays that I can demonstrate how little my income really is. This collection agency is basing the garnishment not just upon any income they think I'm making, but based off of income that my husband brings in which is not fair because I was not married to him when I was going through school and he had nothing to do with my student loan debt. When I try to call the phone number in the notice of garnishment letter they sent me, it was to a completely unrelated company. The phone number they provided me was one XXXX, the number for an organization called " feed the poor '' - this is also a Spanish only line and I don't speak XXXX. I tried calling a ACSI and got a voicemail so I left a message. This is unconscionable what they are doing and I am worried about whether or not they are even legitimate not just given the arbitrary fees they tacked onto to my original loan but the fact that they gave me a completely unrelated phone number to call. I had previously done a year 's worth of loan rehabilitation but no one is acknowledging the payments I made. Those payments are not being acknowledged and seem to have disappeared. I ran into severe medical problems but I had completed that years worth of payments. My debt was conveniently sold off at that time and I lost track of it because of all the medical problems I was having. Can they even garnish my XXXX income? It is through private XXXX insurance but I have been working with Social Security trying to file XXXX through them. My loans are almost 20 years old. The collection agencies are claiming I owe twice as much as my original loans because of alleged fees and interest but mostly bogus collection fees. At this rate, I will never be able to repay this loan I get out of debt. It's a lifetime of financial slavery. I didn't even benefit from the bachelor 's degrees I got from University of XXXX. It took me at least 15 years to finally get a minor promotion that had required that I have a XXXX XXXX degree. No one would promote me prior to that especially due to my medical problems. The phone number for ACSI where I was finally able to leave a message is XXXX XXXX, extension XXXX. The two for that line is XXXX XXXX. They have the account under my maiden name, XXXX XXXX. Alleged acct # XXXX. Do you have a lawyer who is willing to help me challenge this oh, both the amount they claim I owe this point and the garnishment?

You told them to stop contacting you, but they keep trying
Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I sent written notice to Automated Collection Services Inc. ( ACSI ) via certified mail in winch I required ( ACSI ) to cease and desist from contacting me or my family members in this and any related matters unless it was by United States Mail. I have phone records showing multiple calls from ACSS after my XX/XX/2018 letter. This is debt collection abuse and harassment. I believe Automated Collection Services is violating my rights under the federal fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Complaint: I didn't receive written notification about the debt. ( didn't receive, didn't know you could dispute debt ) I requested to see Verifiable Proof ( an original Consumer Contract with my Signature on it ) of the accounts listed below. The collection agency have failed to positively verify these accounts and it has hurt my ability to obtain credit. Under the FCRA, unverified accounts must be removed and if you are unable to provide me a copy of verifiable proof, you must remove the accounts listed above. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 XXXX a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), the collection agency are required by federal law to verify - through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract - any and all accounts you post on a credit report. Otherwise, anyone paying for your reporting services could fax, mail or email in a fraudulent account. The collection agency responded with a letter and a bill for account number XXXX ( see the attachment ). The collection agency did not provide any documentation for account number XXXX but listed the account on my credit reports. The date opened on the account is also incorrect. I have disputed this debt with XXXX and XXXX and the debt was verified as accurate. They refuse to remove the debt. The credit bureaus informed me to contact the data furnisher for proof of the written contracts.

Struggling to repay your loan

Student loan: Federal student loan servicing

Can't temporarily delay making payments
Complaint: I spoke with XXXX XXXX from ACSI on XX/XX/2018 around XXXX CST, in regards to my student loan. Because of the experiences with collection agencies in the past I hired help on my student loans. When we called to set up a payment plan the collector refused to discuss payment option with me and my hired help on the line. I do not understand why I am not able to have someone on the line to help me understand my options. I have the right to have someone on the line that is looking for my best interest only. XXXX asked me if I was able to pay the whole balance off which I can not. Then I gave XXXX permission to speak to my hired help since I do not know what options are available. When my hired help tried to intervene and speak on my behalf, he started to talk over her and his tone was harsh and voice was loud. My hired help tried to explain what she was doing for me to get the best option for my student loans. XXXX XXXX was very rude to her, I have never experience such bad customer service, he was yelling over her and wouldn't allow her to tell him what my plan was for my student loans. It was extremely unprofessional for someone to treat me and my hired help like that regarding student loans. The way he went off on us on the phone is unacceptable, I do not want to deal with people like that regarding my student loans. He made me feel uncomfortable about how I may be treated if she wasn't on the line. Is this how service is provided to people who have student loan debt? I have worked in customer service before, you never want to yell at someone over the phone and talk over them and be as rude as he was. It was the most unprofessional phone call I have experienced with my student loans. My hired help tried to get the information that was needed for me and we were not able to get that, after she tried to get a supervisor on the phone I was so disguised I wanted to just end the call. I hope the proper repercussion comes after listening to that call since they said they record all the calls.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Medical debt

Debt was paid
Complaint: This is a formal complaint against XXXX XXXX XXXX located in XXXX, TN. This company has repeatedly violated my consumer rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act as well as the Fair Credit Billing Act and has caused me much unnecessary financial AND mental distress. For starters, they're reporting an erroneous & unverifiable account on my credit report and not to mention an account in which I've asked for proof of claim and in which they have not been able to provide, per the FCRA & FCBA. Despite my efforts to resolve this unfortunate nightmare for several months now, XXXX XXXX XXXX has completely ignored my communications and legal submissions to remove this inaccurate information from my credit report. I am well aware of several other complaints filed against this company for their illegal and unethical business practices. Yet, somehow, this company is still in business. This company 's unprofessional & negligent behavior has caused lots of serious harm, not only to my ability to establish credit & good interest rates, but also to my character as a Professional and as an individual. Please help me, and the many other consumers just like me, to put a stop to the operation of these unethical & immoral business practices immediately. I sincerely appreciate your time and assistance in this matter and hope to hear from you very soon.

They also attempt to collect a consent in the correspondence to provide " express consent '' to contact me personally after a cease and desist has already been requested. Written notification about debt

Debt collection: Medical debt

Notification didn't disclose it was an attempt to collect a debt
Complaint: I was XXXX years old and still under my mother 's care. Now knowing she never had health insurance for me and was not giving me any of my bills, I as a XXXX adult, knew nothing of most of these debts. I never received correspondence or the right to dispute. I had serious, chronic health issues as a young adult and am now- 5 years later recieving relentless calls from blocked and out of states numbers. 2 times they never disclosed they were debt collectors and refused to stop calling me while I was at work. I contacted one back and began a payment plan with them. At first they refused to take less than XXXX dollars a month- I am a full time college student and living on my own. I told them the very most I could do was XXXX and have been paying it for a year with no correspondence of my current balance. No one ever mentioned I could dispute it or could send me an itemized bill- some of the bills are over XXXX XXXX XXXX!!
