Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage

Mortgage: Conventional home mortgage

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I completed a blanket online refinance inquiry form. Upon completing it, I immediately received a call from XXXX XXXX from Amerisave Mortgage. He briefly explained how Amerisave was voted number 1 in customer service and how they could best service our refinance. He described how, if we agreed to the terms by the end of the evening, we would receive our appraisal fee back at closing. He also camouflaged our fees, stating that it was " basically like a free mortgage '' because we would be getting some money back at closing. Their rates were very competitive so we agree to move forward. Communication was okay up to the date of our appraisal. The appraisal was terrible. In no way it even remotely acceptable. I contacted Amerisave and spoke with XXXX XXXX, XXXX assistant. ( After the initial conversation, I never heard from XXXX again ). XXXX reviewed the appraisal and agreed that the comps were not appropriate and said he would request that it be reviewed. He instructed us the next steps and told me to get CMAs from real estate agents as evidence. The next day, I received an online notice that our loan had been denied due to incomplete information. At that point, all communication stopped. I reached out to the appraisal company and got a second appraisal, it did improve but was not where it should have been so I had two real estate agents pull rolling CMAs and they both came in about where we should have been. I submitted all of this information and never received a response. After weeks of calling, emailing, and leaving voicemails, I finally got a hold of XXXX 's boss, XXXX XXXX. He was very apologetic and ensured me that they would get us taken care of. He stated XXXX and XXXX would be held accountable for their behavior. He would be handing out file over to one of his direct reports and I should hear something by Monday. He promised that we would get our loan reopened and reviewed in hopes of having it funded. We have never heard another word. Neither did the appraisal company. I had to send over a copy of the screen shot or our loan denial due to " incomplete application '' to finally get a copy of the appraisal we had paid for ( {$500.00} ). Amerisave gave false promises, lured us in under false pretenses, and failed to follow through on their side resulting in the loss of a consumer 's {$500.00}, countless hours, and the clean up confusion with our current mortgage companies expecting to be paid out. This, next to a rental car company, has been the worst consumer conspiracy experience we have ever encountered.

Complaint: I was fast talked in to giving {$500.00} on a appraisal fee to Amerisave Mortgage. This was on XX/XX/2019. Now no one returns my calls or emails. I think the {$500.00} is gone. Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage

Complaint: I received a call from XXXX XXXX ID # XXXX on ThursdayXX/XX/2019 while I was at work. He stated he was from AmeriSave Mortgage Corp and could help me refinance my home for a low rate. I had asked what is a 30 year fixed at this time. XXXX asked a few questions and then stated he could lock me in at 4 %. I let him know I was interested and would call him when I got home from work. I did go home and we spoke again. XXXX seemed to promise me a lot and how no one could beat their rates as they are a direct lender. XXXX stated I needed to go forward in order to lock that rate in. XXXX mentioned same thing while I was at work. He repeated that many times making me feel I would miss an opportunity if I didn't proceed. I mentioned I needed to confirm with my fianc and he stated I could fill out and schedule an appraisal. If we decided not to move forward we didn't have to. I moved forward with the info he had told me feeling like I could back out anytime. I was told it was a XXXX deposit for the appraisal. I was under duress as he kept stating no one could get rates that low and if I didn't act I could lose that rate. What brought up the red flag was how persistent he was being. He wanted to schedule the appraisal the next day. I told him I had to work. He asked could my fianc. I said she had to work. He then asked can you leave at lunchtime or can anyone else meet them. I started getting nervous and Said I would let him know but we are not doing the appraisal tomorrow. I conferred with my fianc and she did not want to move forward. I spoke to XXXX the very next day. Friday XX/XX/2019. I told him we were not going to move forward. Thats when he said well your going to forfeit your XXXX. I said why we didn't receive an appraisal? He said well its non refundable. I have disputed my charge with XXXX which is my credit card that I used. Thats when they informed me of this site and I could see all the similar write ins on AmeriSave. I hope something can be done about their deceptive practices.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 we were shopping around to refinance our home’s interest rate. Every financial institution was in the 3% range. We came across XXXX XXXX and noticed XXXX so we thought we would give them a try. The representative started asking the typical financial questions. However, he was confusing us on asking for our SS# several times, even after he had ran our credit report and even stated our scores. The representative told us we are clear and have great credit scores. He then asked for a XXXX deposit and said we would receive it back at the close of the transaction. We gave him our credit card information and he processed the XXXX. We trusted XXXX, considering they were connected to XXXX XXXXOn XX/XX/2019(the next day) his manager asked us again for our SS# stating “we gave them the wrong SS#.” So we started getting nervous but reluctantly gave the SS# again. The same day but later after the manager contacted us. The representative emailed and stated “I haven’t heard from you in a couple of days.” I told the representative that we just spoke with his manager and we spoke with him yesterday. I also told him, I don’t have the time to respond to so many emails. I told him to just send me an email stating what he needs. He sent me an email with a screen shot of my credit report, asking me to write a letter of explanation of inquiries. Problem is, besides our cell phones, the inquiries were all XXXX, which seemed confusing. At this point, we really started getting nervous, so we searched the internet and discovered XXXX has a pattern of collecting XXXX base on some frivolous interest rate (2.375%). XXXX So I asked the rep for our money back. The manager sent an email with an attachment stating “you signed this.” The attachment was XXXX policy stating “NO REFUNDS.” The document had no signatures. We explained, we never saw this document. Also, the rep did not make us aware of the “NO REFUND” policy when he asked for the XXXX. I asked the manager to send me a copy of this document with our signatures, he stated “it was signed electronically.” He never sent the electronic signed version. I expressed to the manager that the interest rate could not be found at any finical institution we contacted. He stated “what are you upset we are the lowest.” I said, I just want a refund. He stated no refunds. I have all of the email exchanges, which will need to be redacted.

Complaint: On Saturday XX/XX/XXXX a lending agent Mr. XXXX XXXX from Amerisave contacted me in regards to my inquiry online to refinance, That same day they emailed me what they call a chart that showed their current rates I reviewed the chart and choose to refinance for {$120000.00} Loan amount at 4 % a closing cost of {$2700.00} these numbers came from the chart that provided that day, the balance on my home was {$950000.00} and the closing Cost would come from the amount financed I wrote these numbers in my email back to him and that based on those numbers I would proceed with an application. I also spoke to him that due to the small amount I was refinancing I did not want to pay anymore on my closing and I did not wish escrow my Insurance and tax these were the issues I was adamant about. I filled in the application that evening the next morning I get a .PDF File with my loan information the closing cost is now {$3400.00} I emailed Mr XXXX That I was not paying this closing cost it was not what he provided me with less Than 24 hours before, his reply was that he must have sent me Thursdays Ratings and it must have changed on Friday?? Wish he did not provide He has also become very assertive on the phone to the point I no longer want to deal with this person he was to the point of harassing and not allow me to finish a statement And just kept cutting me off, at that point I no longer felt confident in dealing with Mr XXXX and the answers that he was giving me nor the bedevilment I no longer wanted to proceed with my application. Also on the statement that he emailed me made no sense the estimated pay off on my mortgage was {$100000.00} as The original mortgage was only {$100000.00}. And a balance of {$95000.00} were was The additional {$6400.00} going? In only a few hours of dealing with Mr XXXX I no longer felt confident and Was to the point being bullied by the man I requested that my {$500.00} application be returned. His response was It is not refundable unless you close your loan. I have since called their main office and spoke to a XXXX that stated the same Response NO REFUND under any circumstances but closing there company did nothing to justify not returning my {$500.00} as they were negligent in provided incorrect information. In less than 24 hours I stop my application my reason for not proceeding Is that the numbers they sent to me were incorrect I am providing the email they sent that show the cost that I had agreed to proceed with and the file that Was emailed the next day with the increase. The consumer is not aware when they pay their {$500.00} application fee That no matter what fraudulent actions or harassment Amerisave does or say they simply get to keep your money.

Complaint: I own a condo in FL with a mortgage rate of 6.56 %. In XXXX 2019, I contacted Amerisave Mortgage to apply for a refinance and was told the rate would be 3.8 % .A great deal of paperwork was faxed and emailed. I had been asked what my gross monthly pension check was and my gross monthly social security check was. After being told everything looked good I was asked to pay {$XXXX} for an appraisal fee, which I did. After that the underwriters received a copy of my tax return and I was told the mortgage had to be rejected because a portion of my social security was subject to taxes ( however no tax was paid-enough had been paid by my pension ) I strongly suspect this company could not place my 3,8 % mortgage and I requested a refund for my {$XXXX} appraisal fee..of course they refused

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I started an online application with AmeriSave Mortage Corporation for mortgage refinancing with Mr. XXXX XXXX, Loan Originator NMLS ID # XXXX, AmeriSave Mortgage Corporation NMLS ID # XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX KY XXXX. Mr. XXXX informed me AmeriSave had the lowest rates in the market then shortly sent me a Loan Estimate. He also said I should start my AmeriSave account first which I began signing documents which he rushed me to do before I could even look at them. He also said in order to lock in the rate he would need a credit card payment. I provided the number for the payment. I told him that I wanted to read all my documents first before doing anything final. I received what he stated was a generic application and not to worry just continue signing the docs on the yellow tabs. After completing the signing, I sent a few documents but never got to the appraiser process before canceling my application the next day by email due to a circumstance. I did not know there was a nonrefundable application fee because he never gave me a chance to read any documents beforehand only rushed me to sign them. In addition, Mr. XXXX also sent me some new disclosure forms to sign I took a look at them and found a numerical error in the figures. This was confirmation to cancel my application further. Please see the email conversation requesting a cancelation and why. I also explained to him he did not have the right to a full payment there was no other cost incurred. He was getting too personal with the situation. Thank you

Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage

Complaint: Amerisave Mortgage ( also operating under aliases like XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX ) My experience with Amerisave was horrific. They wasted 9 weeks of my time, {$1500.00} ( not including the extra {$500.00} for the appraisal ), hard hit my credit report under AmeriSave on XX/XX/19 and XX/XX/19 and the above aliases twice on XX/XX/19 ( which I was told not to worry about because my loan officer would " remove those '' and " it was just something they have to do on their end to help people out and it would RAISE my credit score '', when infact it lowered my score. They intentionally performed multiple hard hits, in order to require me to find alternate ways to " pass underwriting ''. I began the process with AmeriSave and paid {$500.00} for the " loan application fee ''. Inwas informed that AmeriSave charges that fee upfront to prevent people who weren't serious in obtaining a home loan from AmeriSave and not " waste their time '' and the {$500.00} went towards paying for the appraisal of my home upfront. So, throughout this process, which I was " guaranteed '' to be at the closing table within 15 days " no problems '', AmeriSave manifested reasons why I couldn't qualify in order to continue charging me {$500.00} for additional processing times without informing me. My loan officer asked me if anyone could be a " non-occupant co-borrower ''. My ex-husband agreed to be the non-occupant co-borrower as long as he would not be on the AmeriSave loan or required to be financially liable in the event I defaulted. My loan officer ensured him, 1. He would not be on the loan, his income was only propping my income up and helping me qualify 2. His credit would not be pulled or effected and 3. Adding him was all that was necessary for underwriting to approve the loan and I would be at the closing table within 5 days. Ofcourse, those three things did not happen and AmeriSave, without authorization charged another {$500.00} to add him as a non-occupant co-borrower. My appraisal had already been completed, so there was no need for another {$500.00} charge. Then, my loan officer told me that underwriting asked if my ex-husband would agree to be a full co-borrower and if so, underwriting would immediately approve to fund my loan, and in 6 months, AmeriSave would just " drop him off the loan '' as long as I had no late payments. My ex-husband agreed to be a full co-borrower. AmeriSave then charged another {$500.00} without my knowledge or authorization. When the credit card payment came due, I looked at the itemized charges and this is when we noticed all the {$500.00} extra charges. I immediately contacted my loan officer by email and phone. Suddenly, after weeks of daily calls and emails, I was unable to reach my loan officer. He ignored me for over a week. Finally, I received a call from my loan officer and he informed me that 1. Each time he made changes to my original application, {$500.00} was charged so that I wouldn't pull out of the process which would've wasted their time and hardwork put in 2. Each time a change was done AmeriSave had to pull my credit but for me not to worry when I saw the multiple hard hits under aliases as well, because those would be removed 3. AmeriSave was not going to resubmit my loan application with my ex-husband as a full co-borrower because underwriting had already flagged my loan as a denial, so it would be a waste of time. He then said he wished me luck. When I tried to address getting {$1000.00} refunded for the " additional '' loan changes, he abruptly ended the call and told me, " XXXX, do not contact me again, you're not getting anything back, anything refunded, and the hard hits will remain on your credit since you are harassing me and AmeriSave. '' After trying to go above his head, I was ignored. After weeks of promises, AmeriSave simply kept manifesting false reasons of why my loan was getting kicked back from underwriting, just to charge me more money. AmeriSave is nothing but a scam. My new lender informed me of the legal process and gave me this website to report my complaint against AmeriSave. I noticed in your database that AmeriSave has multiple complaints and resolutions. I hope you can help me resolve mine. One more addition, my first loan officer was honest and local. Soon after, I was told that loan officer was no longer with the company and my new loan officer was located in Georgia ( I live in Texas ).

Complaint: I am working with an independent Mortgage Broker that I have known for years. I am applying for a new mortgage as i am moving for a new job. I received phishing phone call from AmeriSave. They contacted me stating they received word from the credit bureau that they needed to obtain my SS # and other personal information to issue a pre-qualification. I verified from my broker that this is not legitimate. I spoke with " XXXX '' at Amerisave and her phone number is XXXX. The mortgage broker indicated that credit bureaus are selling information to lenders to go after business. The issue is that they are deceptive in their tactics, making you think that it is part of the process for the loan in which you are applying, and it is not.
