Complaint: My account was credited with membership rewards points from purchases across 4 American Express charge cards ( Platinum, PRG, Business Gold, and Green ), however, American won't let me use it. On XX/XX/XXXX, I tried using my MR points by transferring XXXX points to XXXX which is a partner airline. The transaction was not successful and the message I got is that I am under spending review. I started a chat session with customer service and they informed that I just need to call the MR points customer service department to authorize the transfer. The MR customer service department was closed and have to wait the following day to call.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I called the customer service number ( XXXX ) and spoke to a manager ( XXXX with employee ID XXXX ). He informed that I am under spending review and he is not capable of escalating or fixing the problem. I asked him why would MR points be credited to my account and won't let me use it? I don't understand the logic, I said. He said he does not know. At that point I asked him to transfer me to someone that has the authority to fix the problem on my account. He informed me that there's no way for him to transfer me to the proper authorities.
All the purchases on the credit cards are all valid and eligible under American Express terms and agreement. I planned on using my points that I earned for my upcoming vacation.

Complaint: I made travel reservation with XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and paid {$450.00} with a American Express Serve Card. Later I cancelled the travel reservation in accordance with XXXX and the travel agency policies. XXXX sent an email confirming the cancellation on XX/XX/XXXX. However, the account with American Express Serve shows the {$450.00} " on hold '', which is basically an administrative block preventing the company from releasing the funds. On XX/XX/XXXX I called the customer service center and spoke with both an agent and a supervisor who stated it was up to the merchant to refund the money. I rebutted that the merchant had already sent back the money to American Express Serve and that XXXX had emailed its itinerary showing the cancellation. However, neither the agent nor the supervisor provided a correspondence address or fax number to send any documents to settle the matter. The customer service agents and supervisor claimed the money would return to the card and that American Express Serve would release the hold " on or before XX/XX/XXXX ''. I called the customer service number again on XX/XX/XXXX because I didn't see the money in the account and was disappointed that American Express Serve did not follow through on its claim. I spoke with another customer service and stated the company still hadn't released its hold and the money was not in the account. This agent who claimed again the money would appear in the account by XXXX XXXX EDT which is XXXX XXXX local time for me. I waited and waited but the company did not return the money. Suffice it to say, American Express Serve took the money with zero intentions of returning it to the account. The company does not adhere to its own policy of refunding money within the 8 day period.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I paid the balance off on an American Express Credit card. The payment was received before the the due date and I closed the account. I have had a lot of trouble with American Express and decided to just cancel the account and pat it in full. I just received another statement for information interest. I called and customer service explained that it was interest on the account from the time it was mailed until I paid it. I explained that I paid it online and the amount at was paid was the total amount of the statement. This is ridiculous, I have several other credit cards and when they are paid in full on time, there is no interest charged.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I applied for the XXXX card by American Express. I applied as the card was offering a XXXX membership rewards bonus points signup offer after completing {$5000.00} in spend within 90 days. I received my card and completed the spend on XX/XX/XXXX, before the 90 day cutoff to complete said spend. I called in to the customer service line in XX/XX/XXXX to confirm that I had met the minimum spend and to check when the bonus points would post. A representative confirmed that I had met the spend, I was eligible for the bonus offer of XXXX membership rewards bonus points and that they would post after my next statement posted. After my XX/XX/XXXX billing statement posted, I called back in to customer service on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX PST to speak with customer service. I reiterated that I was told that these bonus points would post after my most recent statement posted. This rep confirmed that she saw the XXXX membership rewards bonus points offer, that I had met the spend and that I was eligible. She they stated that the points take 6-8 weeks to post. I called back to customer service on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX PST and inquired about the signup bonus of XXXX points I was due to receive. This representative stated that I was not eligible as I previously held the XXXX card. I explained to her that in the terms and conditions of the offer, it did not state this as an exclusion. I also re-stated the offer code I used to sign up and nowhere in the terms and conditions it stated that previous card holders were ineligible. American Express is using deceptive advertising and marketing practices to lure customers to sign up for credit cards, promising a signup bonus and then fabricating an excuse to not pay out the sign up bonus to customers. I would like American Express to honor the terms of this sign up offer.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I paid {$310.00} at the XXXX XXXX in XXXX, TN using my Bluebird American Express Prepaid Card that had a cash balance of over {$6000.00}. I checked my Bluebird account on XX/XX/XXXX and my balance was over {$5900.00} and it showed the transaction from the XXXX XXXX. OnXX/XX/XXXX at XXXX CST via email to my email at XXXX, I received notice that Bluebird American Express account was overdrawn and had a negative balance. I called Bluebird at XXXX XXXX CST on XX/XX/XXXX to inform them that my card had been hacked and over 60 fraudulent charges were showing on my account from XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, Illinois to 22 fraudulent transactions to XXXX XXXX in North Carolina. I then asked for a summary of all fraudulent transactions so I could file a Police Report. Bluebird sent individual emails for about one-half of the disputed transactions. I also requested that my card be stopped and cancelled and asked that all pending transactions be stopped. I was told by BlueBird American Express that they could not stop pending transactions. I called Bluebird American Express 6 times on XX/XX/XXXX asking for all of these fraudulent transactions be disputed. Of my {$5900.00} balance in my prepaid account ( from direct deposits of my wages ), only {$660.00} of disputed charges were sent to me via individual email. At XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, I went to the City of XXXX Police Station ( XXXX XXXX ) and spoke with Officer XXXX to file a Police Report. I was told I need a transactional summary of all disputed fraudulent charges and paperwork from the financial institution. I called Bluebird American Express from the Police Station and they refused to provide this information or talk to Officer XXXX. I then called Bluebird American Express on Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX CST to ask for a summary of all disputed fraudulent charges and was told to call the Fraud Department at XXXX. No one was available when Bluebird American Express transferred the call so I called again at XXXX CST on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke for 33 minutes repeatedly requesting a summary of all disputed transactions and any paperwork that I could complete detailing my dispute of all transactions made onXX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and additional transactions that keep coming in of fraudulent activity that Bluebird American Express keeps processing though they have been told that it is fraudulent. The lady with whom I spoke refused to send me a summary though I told her it was required by the XXXX Police Department to file a fraud claim. She also refused to send me any paperwork and said she would send individual emails. I have noticed over 65 fraudulent claims on my account and yet have only received 32 individual emails totaling just {$660.00} in fraud claims though my account has had over {$5900.00} withdrawn in fraudulent transactions. I am concerned that Bluebird American Express will not reimburse me for these fraudulent transactions and they have been unwilling to help me after calling them 7 times over the past two days.
