Can't temporarily delay making payments
Complaint: My student loans began at just under XXXX. That was the last I attended in XXXX. They jumped to XXXX in XXXX with a consolidation that I did not ever apply for ... the consolidation amount {$65000.00} to {$140000.00} with AES/XXXX, They also left out a loan I have been paying on for years through XXXX ... They are in the last name which is not my name. I do not have an ID or any way to prove that it is not me. I have sent my soc cars as well as my South Dakota drivers license to them. They will not speak to me about this debt and they provided me a fraud packet via mail. I have not had a response back and I can not speak with anyone regarding this issue due to my name vs, name on the account. So it is bounced back and forth between PHEAA and AES/XXXX. My credit is greatly affected. the most recent letter I received is from PHEAA and the amount is now at {$190000.00}!!! I am paying on an unsubsidized and have been for years that began at XXXX. The other, currently with PHEAA began at around subsidized was originally XXXX. They send mail to me in my name and when I call them or try to make payments they refuse to talk to me unless I can produce the name my account number, social security number and birthday are associated with.

Complaint: I previously submitted a closed CFPB complaint regarding switching to a different income repayment plan ( from IBR to ICR ). ( Complaint XXXX. ) I spoke to a specialist because I was misinformation : a previous representative told me I could verbally consent to changing the plan. She never mentioned that I had to submit paperwork. Because of the misinformation I was provided, the specialist I spoke to named XXXX, told me that I should submit the form as soon as possible and she would make a note in the file to have my request expedited.
On Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, I faxed the paperwork. On Thursday, XX/XX/XXXX, I was told they did not receive my fax and that I should upload the form to their website. On Friday, XX/XX/XXXX, I uploaded the form to the website. Later that evening, I received an e-mail that my request was processed. In my file it showed that may request was approved and my monthly payment was reduced ( see attached ). However, this morning I received another e-mail about my request being reviewed and the review would not be completed until XX/XX/XXXX -- two days after my next payment.
I called regarding both e-mail correspondences because they are conflicting. I explained to the representative that my request was uploaded and approved ; they might have received the request I previously faxed, which they should have disregarded -- not process the request over again. I was told I would still have to do a month of forbearance and pay a minimum of {$5.00}. Then why expedite my request? Also, why not refund a partial payment for this month as my forbearance month and allow me to start the new plan next month? There entire situation was caused by one of their representatives. If she would have given me correct information, I would have sent in the required documentation immediately, and XXXX would have been my forbearance month.
Additionally, the amount that they quoted ( {$420.00} ) in the closed complaint is different than the amount they calculated in the letter that is attached.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: We currently have an IBR plan that determines our payments based on our income and family size. We are required to re-certify our payment plan each year, and have the option to resubmit our application for repayment if there are any changes in our income or family size. We decided to resubmit early, due to an increase in family size ( with no change to our income ). However, instead of our payment decreasing, it increased. ( from XXXX to XXXX ) I called in ( XX/XX/19 to employee XXXX ) to discuss this error, and was told that our account would be reviewed within 7-10 business days. We never heard back, but recieved another bill in the incorrect amount. I called again ( spoke to employee XXXX ) and was told the same runaround. No response, no change. Called again ( XX/XX/19 ) and was told it would be resubmitted and in the meantime they would send an adjusted bill in the original XXXX amount. Yet they never ACTUALLY changed the bill, and processed a direct debit in the XXXX amount. Called again on XX/XX/19, and they refused to address the problem and instead ran me around for over an hour on the phone before essentially saying " too bad '' it's correct.

Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: I spoke to pheaa 2 days ago in order to try and get an income-based repayment plan because I've been unable to afford the payments. And they refused to let me apply for the income-based loan saying that I was ineligible for the income-based loan because I am currently in default. But the purpose in me reaching out to them was trying find a way to work together to get myself out of this position. The only option they gave me was a payment that represented a 33 % of my income, {$500.00} a month, which will not leave me in any position to keep my house or feed my children. They also told me that if I don't make the payments they're going to garnish my wages so heavily that I will not be able to keep my house or feed my children.
At this time, they are leaving me no choice but to not do anything because nothing I can do is good enough. If there's anything you can do it would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to make some kind of effort.
Best regards, XXXX

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: Since I began paying on my student loans I've been on different versions of income-based repayment plans. All I wanted to know was to pay the lowest amount but ensure that the payments were eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ).
As I attempted to recertify for my repayment plan I was notified that I wouldn't be accepted into the Income-Based plan because my income was too high. I was told I could keep my current payment, just under {$200.00} per month or I could change to the standard repayment plan and pay about {$160.00} a month. Both plans are eligible for PSLF and i pointedly asked the MyXXXX Rep why should I continue paying the {$200.00} instead of switching, he said it didn't make sense to stay on the {$200.00} payment.
My concern isn't with anyone I spoke with yesterday, but how long have I been eligible for lower payments without ever being notified? Could I have been putting the extra {$45.00} a month to go towards paying off my private student loans that aren't eligible for PSLF?

Complaint: I have all federal loans and since the day I have graduated from XXXX school in XX/XX/2010 I have been making payments in an income-based repayment plan or a revised repay as you earn plan in order to qualify for PSLF. Every payment that I have made should count towards public service loan forgiveness. I have submitted a count request to determine how many payments I have remaining before I can apply for public service loan forgiveness, however the count has been incorrect each time they have sent me this information. The count is off by many payments. I only switched to fed loan a year ago as servicer. I feel that they are not counting payments made through the previous servicers. I have asked for a manual recount and this has yet to be resolved and my count is still incorrect. This is frustrating and causes great stress.

Received bad information about your loan
Complaint: I previously had my loans through XXXX but switched to Fed loan servicing approximately 3 to 4 years ago.
Issue 1 ) I have been receiving what I believe to be inaccurate qualifying payment counts that go towards PSLF. I requested a manual recount of my qualifying payments over 9 months ago. I still have no response and am just continuing to be told that " it takes time. '' I have been making qualifying payments for just shy of 6 years. I paid ahead at one point and so realize I will not get credit for about 9 months of payments, but should have at least 5 years or 60 payments that qualify. They have me at far less than this.
Issue 2 ) The other issue I have is that I recently re-certified my income for an income based plan. My payment went up more than expected. When I did research into this they had me in the IBR plan. If you look at my formal re-certification document from 2016 you can clearly see that I selected to transition to the REPAYE program ; and every year since have selected to stay in that program. This had led to increased financial hardship on my part. The answer from fed loan servicing was to request to switch from IBR to REPAYE now. Switching now instead of 4 years ago when I initially requested it has led to more interest accumulating which will now capitalize as I switch.

Problem with customer service
Complaint: I was in default in my student loan so I had to go through a rehab program. I did so very successfully. Then I was put with XXXX. For the first year things went okay. I had an IBR plan. Then for the second year I resubmitted my application, but didn't get a response for MANY months. In the meantime they expected me to make payments that far exceeded what I could pay. I never heard back from them regarding my IBR application. My loan has again gone into default.

Complaint: AES recently responded to a Response I made on behalf of my initial complaint. AES again failed to exercise any proof that my claims are invalid. Instead, many assertions were made by them which seem to overshadow their stance on any assertion. The examples they provided are not satisfactory enough to prove that AES didn't do anything wrong, but in fact makes them even more suspicious while they quickly defend themselves without showing hardcore evidence proving their innocence. Payments will be made by the week of XX/XX/XXXX to be caught up with all payments past due and due by the end of the month. While it is absolutely a borrower 's responsibility to cooperate with paying down their Student Loan balance, I also feel that AES owes every single borrower an explanation when it comes to the online claims through Articles, and the likes that they are far from innocent. In addition, one can only conjure up what really goes on behind closed doors at this place given the recent Education Scandal. How many Celebrities have delivered bribes to AES, I wonder? Believe it or not, there are many co-conspirators in society today, and any Fortune 500 company as well as other financial companies are no stranger to that ugliness.
AES should re-examine all positions within the company and should remove positions that have no meaning or purpose, which I would say is about 99 % of the executive staff. Let 's face it EXECS, none of you do any actual work. As far as the moral population goes, you all like to freeload. Wasting turns to lying, and then lying turns to cheating. Cheating eventually turns to breaking the law. I'd be willing to bet many of you belong in jail. XXXX has a close eye on you.
Feel free to think about that while I do my own detective work.

Received bad information about your loan
Complaint: I received an email in XX/XX/XXXX, that my student loans would be coming due soon ( 1/2 way through grace period ). I was enrolled in two schools on quarter systems and enrolled in a total of 9 quarter credits-starting in XX/XX/XXXX when I got this letter. I had just completed 4 credits at one school 2 weeks prior to this letter ( so rightfully in grace during the prior term ). However 9 credits for the upcoming term is over the 1/2 time requirement necessary to keep/get " In-School '' status set fourth by the US DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION and student loan program. I ignored it thinking they had just not been updated about my enrollment for the upcoming term.
It should be noted that at my university, I am in the dual enrollment program with the local XXXX colleges. I DO NOT currently receive any financial aid, at any school. I am not requesting any financial aid at any school.
I then received additional emails about repayment at the end of XX/XX/XXXX). I emailed them XX/XX/XXXX.
I contacted my loan servicer showing proof of enrollment in the 9 credits, and told them I was told by my schools financial aid office, that I should not be in, or nearing repayment as I am enrolled in 9 credits. My loan servicer said I needed a form called " The Consortium Agreement ''. I told my school, my school said a consortium agreement is only given when students are getting financial aid- so you don't get financial aid at more than one school, and so they can determine how much to give you. They said it is not necessary to prove your enrollment status, and the only thing my loan servicer needed was proof of enrollment in at least 6 credits ... Found in the National Student Loan Database. This was provided, as was screenshots of my registration page from both schools. My servicer responded again saying I needed the consortium agreement.
I have searched online for proof of this requirement, because after speaking to the financial aid offices at both schools, both said the same thing. And my federal loan servicer is refusing to give me in school deferment for Winter XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) without that form. I should have entered my grace period after this term. Nothing online outlined by the department of education says this is required. The requirements for in-school deferment are that you are enrolled in a department of education approved program at least 1/2 time. I was enrolled over 1/2 time in an approved dual enrollment program. My servicer can not make up fake terms to try and collect money and apply interest unlawfully to my loan when I should have been in " In-School Deferment '' and should now be in my first month of " Grace-Period ''.
Note : Attached is an email from my loan servicer. An email from my registration office- I resubmitted my co-enrollment application thinking maybe something went wrong or maybe it had been too long since I was last co-enrolled. They emailed my back saying my enrollment status in the program was still active. I then emailed financial aid- asking about the co-enrollment form- they said I needed to do my fafsa- I asked why I needed a fafsa if I didn't want financial aid, I just wanted to prove enrollment status, they responded ( attached as well ) saying that the form is only needed if receiving financial aid. This is when I called them- fully explained what was going on, and they confirmed to me that Consortium Agreements are used to determine how much students can get in financial aid and so they don't get financial aid at two schools. Neither of which is necessary for someone not getting financial aid.

Need information about your loan balance or loan terms
Complaint: My loans are currently serviced by FedLoan as part of my enrollment in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. I have asked for an accurate count of qualifying payments and it has been about a year without a response ( in their records I asked for count in XX/XX/XXXX, but I asked for manual recount in fall XX/XX/XXXX AND XX/XX/XXXX ). The current count listed in my account on the Fedloan website is incorrect. The National Student Loan Data System does seem to have an accurate count ( per my records ). I would like an accurate count per Fedloan so that I know how many qualifying payments are remaining before my loans are forgiven.

Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX. I have been fighting with FedLoan services for quite sometime. I have obtained a lawyer ( XXXX XXXX ) to help me fight against them. Long story short, ( XX/XX/2017 & XX/XX/XXXX ) their website payment and email system had many flaws. Emails would indicate that a payments are over due. I would visit their site to make a payment, but no where on the site would it indicate an amount, nor would it indicate which loan was due. I have many loans with FedLoan from school. So I would make a payment so that I could at least make some payment so I wouldn't impact my credit, I still continued to receive emails saying I owed money. So I called to see if I could get a consolidation so that I could get a single payment with no confusion. The representative said he would pause payments until he could get approvals for me to get a consolidation. And that if I saw credit late notices on my credit to disregard them and that it will eventually get removed. Well, they never got removed, nor did they seem to want to remove them ( " Its a late payment regardless is the response i got '' ). So I decided to get automatically payments setup so that I didn't have to deal with these problems. Now I have all these late payments in my history and it's destroying my life. I can not get a mortgage or any other benefits because of what Fedloan services have done to me. I have contacted the Federal Student Aid office to have this investigated. In addition, I have applied to have a consolidation with a new loan office to aid me going forward and i am hoping to get approval so that i no longer have to deal with the Fed Loan service anymore. I have contacted them numerous of times to resolve our differences and they refuse to come to terms to help me. They have also declined a " payment of deletion '' offer that was suggested by my lawyer.
