Complaint: The original principal was caused by a typo of my address when mailing the bill and not long after that, SouthwestCredit contacted me stating the principal belonged to them. The typo of address was made by XXXX XXXX XXXX.
SouthwestCredit has never told me my right to dispute the collection for all the times they contacted me.
SouthwestCredit did not either provide verification of debt at all. It should be mailed in within 5 days after the first attempt.

Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/2016 received a phone call from a female who only said she was from Southwest and wanted to speak to me, when i told her she was she then wanted me to give her my social security number. She would not answer my inquiry as to who was southwest she just kept asking for my social security numer. I refused and she hung up with no explination as to why she called or any explination as to who Southwest was. I found out later while checking my credit report she was from Southwest Credit Systems in XXXX, Texas and that she had just place deragortory comments on my credit report. This person was rude and would not answer any of my questions as to who Southwest was. I will not give out my personal information to anyone over the phoe but she would not take no for a answer. Found out she was a collector trying to get information for collecting a debt i did not know existed. I have never received any mail or other correspondence from this Southwest company. We have moved twice due to selling our house. Still this company is rude with the way rhey treat people. I have checked with the XXXX Texas and supposedly there have been numerous complaints against this company.

Complaint: I recently discovered on my credit report, XXXX collections accounts from Southwest Credit and XXXX ( XXXX ) regarding a XXXX XXXX debt. I do not owe XXXX XXXX anything and would like to dispute both accounts in the amounts of {$400.00} and then {$250.00} both of which again, are regarding XXXX XXXX. I spoke with a XXXX Representative about the said amounts XXXX of which they verified in the amount of {$250.00}. The amount of {$400.00} they stated they were unaware of. I was told that I once I returned equipment boxes and XXXX remotes, the charge would drop off. I returned the equipment and am still seeing the fee of {$250.00}. Additionally, the charge of {$400.00} is still sitting on my credit report and both charges have been sold separately to XXXX separate collections entities.
This complaint is not regarding a loan, but rather a inaccurate collections debt. I did not see this type of complaint available under the section entitled, " which of these best describes your issue '' so I selected one of the options in order to move to the next phase of reporting this inaccurate charge.

I have attached a copy of my XXXX Credit Report which shows the Date of 1st Delinquency in XXXX. Complaint: There is a collection account appearing on my XXXX credit report that the reporting agency ( Southwest Credit Systems ) has acknowledged to me is fraudulent and should not be associated with me.
An earlier problem that I encountered in my attempt to resolve this issue was previously submitted to CFPB under Case Number XXXX. At that time, I was having problems getting XXXX to provide " a description of the procedure used to determine the accuracy and completeness of the information. '' As a result of that previous case number, I did receive that information.
I then contacted Southwest Credit Systems, the company that was reporting this collection account to XXXX, to find out why they had this erroneous information on file. A summary of the interactions I had with Southwest can be found in the attached SWC Group Dispute Letter.docx file. Note that it was established in my first call to Southwest that this was a fraudulent charge and that I then spent the next few days fruitlessly trying to complete their process to finish resolving this issue. When it became clear that phone calls were not going to resolve anything with them, I sent the referenced letter. I did receive one callback ( finally ) from Southwest on XXXX XXXX ; I was not home at the time, but returned the call at XXXX XXXX. ( ET ) that day, once again leaving a message with all of my contact numbers and imploring them to please call be back. As of today, XXXX XXXX, I have not had any further contact from them.
Because Southwest is behaving in a negligent manner by not resolving this issue, this erroneous information continues to appear on my XXXX credit report, as re-confirmed by XXXX as a result of the complaint I filed with CFPB as Case Number XXXX.
At this point, I feel like I have done everything I can to make this right with both Southwest and XXXX, but somehow it 's just not getting through, and would appreciate any assistance that CFPB could provide to get Southwest to close out this issue and alert XXXX that this should not be on my credit report. The bottom line here is that Southwest knows that this is a fraudulent charge ( as detailed in the SWC Group Dispute Letter ) and despite my making every effort to work with them to get their information corrected ( also detailed in the SWC Group Dispute letter ) they are not getting this taken care of.
I know that this is a small matter in the grand scheme of things, but I take pride in the fact that I have a good clean credit report with no issues. The fact that there is an issue on it that does not belong to me and is n't getting corrected, despite my having spent far more time on this than I should have to, is extremely annoying given that I am the person who potentially suffers as a result, not whoever it was that made the mistake in the first place.

Complaint: My wife and I had XXXX internet for several years. We initially bought our modem when we began our service. We moved XX/XX/2015. XXXX XXXX XXXX send us a new modem that we did not need. The technician came to set up our new service and told us we needed to ship the new modem back. We kept the modem that we bought. XXXX XXXX XXXX at that point began charging us a rental fee each month even though we returned the modem. XX/XX/2015, we moved again and at that point ended our service with XXXX XXXX XXXX. We got a final bill saying that we owed them for the modem we were renting. Even though we sent it back. An XXXX XXXX XXXX representative reviewed our account and said that we were actually owed a refund for the rental charge they had been charging us monthly and we were wrongly charged for the non returned modem. They sent us a refund check. Weeks after this, we were still receiving a check saying that we owed approximately {$130.00} for the non returned modem and would be turned over to collections. At that point, I called XXXX XXXX XXXX back and another representative reviewed our account and admitted we were wrongly charged and this would be taken care. We kept receiving letters. I have been on the phone with XXXX XXXX XXXX over 4 times. We now have a collection agency calling us. We worked hard to get our credit scores above XXXX and this has really hurt us.

Complaint: I had to go to XXXX for work and called XXXX XXXX XXXX to cancel my XXXX service on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. On the call I checked with the representative if I owed any pending payments, and got a confirmation that I do n't have any pending payments as of XXXX/XXXX/XXXX.
Though I was in XXXX, I continued to monitor my Credit Score and credit history and I noticed a sudden drop in my credit score in XXXX XXXX. I pulled my credit report and noticed a collection item for {$36.00} in my report which was a collection attempt made by XXXX XXXX XXXX.
I contacted XXXX Immediately and they confirmed that it was their attempt. A bill was generated on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX for {$36.00} which went to collection. I paid the {$36.00} on the very day I had called them ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ).
I explained to them and later argued that it was no fault of mine since, on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I was informed that I did not have any pending payment and I did not find the need to check my online account after that ( I usually opt for paperless bill, but not sure in this case ).
I have been their customer for over 5 years and have made an average transaction of over {$1000.00} per year. I am a very responsible customer for not only XXXX XXXX XXXX, but also with any other service provider and deal with everyone with absolute Integrity. {$36.00} is a very insignificant amount for me. I did not miss the payment deliberately.
I returned to USA on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and have plans to buy auto and home loans, but due to the hit with my credit score, I am being classified as a sub-prime borrower and getting offers with a very high interest rate.
Also, XXXX XXXX XXXX are not owning responsibility for their mistake to this day. They made me go in circles to contact the collections agency ( Southwest Credit System ) who directed me to the Credit Bureau ( XXXX ), who in turn directed me back to the collection agency and finally back again to XXXX XXXX XXXX with no improvement to my situation.
At last, they agreed opened a case with the assurance that nothing good with happen with the case. I mean how can anyone act in such an apathy.
Turns out that this is not an isolated case and many of my friends who were in similar situation felt victim to this modus operandi of XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Complaint: My husband and I are receiving daily calls from Southwest Credit in XXXX, TX asking to verify personal information and saying that they want to collect debt. Because we recently received a mortgage, we have seen our credit records and have no unusual outstanding debt -- other than regular bills and credit cards. We do not want to receive any further calls from Southwest Credit. Because the phone numbers for the calls do not show up on our phone, we can not put this company on the Do Not Call list. Complaint: I have sent a letter to them that states the debt is not mine it is over 10 years old The name the address is not correct on the response. Also requested proof of last payment, there licensed to collect debt and proof the debt is mine. no response back other than a copy of some else info I Never open any account under a XXXX XXXX I NEVER LIVED AT THE ADDRESS THEY STATE ON THE FILE. My signature does not come close. II have received calls from this company several times. Sometimes they answer other times they just listen or hang up. I have no business with them and they keep calling. I have reported other number they used to the FCC and now they are calling from a different number. My rights keep being violated They have called my son stateing that I will be arrested if I do n't comply to there demands. They have called me countless times. I have no unpaid debt and do n't know what it is about. I have returned their calls numerous times and answered the phone when they call so I can get to the bottom of this, but I can not reach an actual human being. Their outbound calls are automated. Complaint: I ran a credit report on XXXX/XXXX/16 through my credit monitoring membership for all XXXX credit bureaus, I noticed an account was showing up for collection under the name Southwest Credit Systems. I contacted the Credit Bureau & filed a dispute indicating this account did not belong to me, in addition I was advised to contact the collection agency also and dispute it with them as well. I contacted Southwest Credit Systems on XXXX/XXXX/16 & spoke with a representative by the name of XXXX & explained the situation & that I wanted to file a dispute & could I speak to the proper person to take care of it, he was very rude & would not transfer me to the proper person or department, he kept insisting the debt was mine & that I could pay with Visa or Mastercard by phone. I kept explaining the debt was not mine & that it was an error however I was getting nowhere with him. I asked who the original creditor was on the account & he finally provided me the information as being XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX gave me an original acct # for XXXX XXXX XXXX, once he disclosed this to me I explained this is definitely not mine as I have never had an account with XXXX XXXX XXXX. He was absolutely no help & kept insisting the debt was valid and belonged to me & that if I had an issue I would have to take it up with XXXX XXXX XXXX directly. I then contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX and explained the situation to them, the representative with XXXX XXXX XXXX provided information to me on the account such as name, dates the acct was open, amount owed, etc. I let the representative with XXXX XXXX XXXX know this is not my acct or debt & it was an error. They also disclosed to me they only had a name, address, phone # & DOB listed on the acct, none of which matched my info & they had no SSN or DL # so there is no way they could have provided my social security # to the collection agency. XXXX XXXX XXXX explained that they were not the ones to report this to the credit bureaus & they have no interest in this acct any longer as it now belongs to the collection agency so that if I had a problem I would have to take it up with them directly since they were the ones that reported the information to the credit bureaus. Obviously at this point I was very frustrated due to all the back and fourth and getting nowhere. I called Southwest Credit again on XXXX/XXXX/16 & this time spoke with the operator first, then transferred to a representative named XXXX & then another named XXXX none of which were helpful in any way. I was then transferred to another department & no one ever answered, I got a voicemail asking me to leave a message & that a consumer manager would call me back however I have no faith that will happen. Since I can not get any help from this horrible collection agency ( Southwest Credit Systems ) with employees that give you nothing but attitude and just want to collect money for a debt that is n't even mine I am hoping by filing this complaint I will be able to get this nightmare taken care of & resolved once & for all.
I would like to know exactly how this collection agency reported this to the credit bureaus as being my debt when XXXX XXXX XXXX does n't even have a social security # on file and in no way would have been able to provide it to them & since I never had an acct with XXXX XXXX XXXX. How can a collection agency pin this on me, I have worked very hard to have good credit and have always paid my debts. This debt obviously belongs to someone with a similar name and address as me. I actually have info on who the debt truly belongs to in doing my own investigating however since the collection agency wo n't let me speak to someone that actually might be willing to listen to me I have not been able to provide the info to them. I 'm in the process of getting approved for a home loan and this is negatively affecting me to be able and move forward.

Complaint: I previously had cable services thru XX/XX/XXXX with XXXX. Upon moving in XXXX XXXX, I lost a cable box, therefore, I was being billed for the box. I finally found the box in XXXX XXXX and called XXXX to see if I could still return it. I was told that once I returned the box, my balance would be {$0.00}. I returned the box on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX at their XXXX, TX store. I have attached the receipt given to me to reflect the return. After returning the equipment, I never received any calls nor notification from XXXX that I owed anything else. 3 years later, I noticed that a collection account by SW Credit was placed on my credit bureaus for the {$200.00} that was previously owed before I returned the box.
