Complaint: On numerous dates they have accepted the Student Loan deferment, but for years they keep sending back the Student Loan forgiveness form to keep getting the Doctors signature. Such as the last date XX/XX/2019 is one of the dates they have sent back yet another notification. I had to send a fax and letter to my Doctor on XX/XX/2019 for the loan to be forgiven when the President Of The USA offered to forgive my Student Loans and setting any account free. I have two other people on the account on the Family Plan that I want to add and they have two separate last names, and I have them both as Co- Borrowers ; you may contact the number of the first Co-Borrower as possible. Sent in good faith, and none delay.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: The loan servicer is Firstmark Services. I had paid a significant portion of the estimated payoff amount but the servicer only credited six of the seven loans I had which resulted in a larger final payoff amount costing me additional interest. As a result a larger amount was debited from my account and I now have an overage. Firstmark states it will send me a paper check for the overage.
Please investigate whether Firstmark 's actions are a systemic problem or not.

Complaint: I have been harassed by a large number of repeated phone calls which I have not answered. After researching the phone number that kept calling, I believe it is the company Firstmark services looking for collection because I am only 12 days late on my payment. I have not answered them because I feel that due to the harassing nature of the contact attempts, I can safely assume that they are using harassing tactics in all facets of their debt collection. They have called me over 30 times since XX/XX/XXXX, only two days ago. I will attach screenshots of the missed calls.

Complaint: I requested a XXXX XXXX request for forgiveness of my loan in XX/XX/XXXX. It was not approved until XX/XX/XXXX, in which they are now today, XX/XX/XXXX telling me that they mailed a letter requesting additional information.
I asked for the history of the loan to verify that I had 3 loans with them. Because to my knowledge, I only had one consolidated loan. The servicer at XXXX stated I have a total of 3 loans 2 with them but one with XXXX from the years of XXXX and XXXX. I requested history to confirm. They stated they did not have anything like that. I asked for the supervisor who in turn gave me as of XX/XX/XXXX, the original balance that they were given was {$5600.00} for one loan and the unsubsidized part B of {$5900.00} was the 2nd loan. Which totals {$11000.00}, which is on my report as well. The loans are the same loans being report 3 times differently on my report.
I am disputing the validity of the actual amount and the handling of this loan with this company. I would like a thorough review. Because this is harming my chances to obtain housing since I have been displaced without work since my injuries.

Complaint: I attended XXXX and multiple students unfortunately we're stuck with the scam of three advisors who implemented loans and sign for them that WE THE consumer were stuck with.
They investigated and reported it wasn't mine although I had to report TO NELNET for 3 years, proved I am XXXX, not working, they kept selling it, transferring it, Finally issued paid off, but it keeps reappearing as open, transferred, Duplicated 3 times on my report and or paid by Nelnet XXXX Department of Education several times on my credit report. I disputed, they sent DELETED, but it's still there. I have sued them three times already, & Won, and it says it's removed from my credit report but there is duplicate copies and a third one on there which they refused to remove from about 7 years ago.
I'm tired of begging for something that never mine from the start.

Complaint: I have a recurring auto debit on the XXXX of every month and for the month of XXXX that payment did not occur. I was informed that the auto debit would not occur for XXXX because my account did not have a payment due and there was a system issue that is trying to be resolved. I pay more than the amount due and have accrued enough excess to be months ahead of my payment so the system did not take my payment. I had to contact the lender to determine why the payment did not occur, when going into the web portal the message simply says to please wait a few days for it to be resolved. I have since gone in and instructed a one time ACH to pull today to make the XXXX payment. If I would not manage my finances to a strict budget I would not have noticed the payment did not occur and my account would accrue unnecessary interest. However, my account will accrue additional interest for the delay in the payment (only 6 days on one payment but this is bigger than just my account). The error by their system will in turn cost me and every other individual that has a loan with the organization that is paid ahead additional money.

Complaint: Wages being garnished because of no payments. Tried many times to set up an affordable payment plan. Couldn't connect with NELNET services on line or phone. I sent letters trying to get lower payments or forgiveness and tried to reach out to other services for information. Unfortunately it's difficult to determine which is real versus a scam to get personal information. The school I attended lost it's credibility and now my degree is worthless so I feel like give them money back is a ripoff.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX, Nelnet purchased two of my student loans. I was in deferment at the time. In XX/XX/XXXX Nelnet reported to the credit bureau I was late on my payments. I never received information regarding the purchasing of my acct. My one phone gets about 20 robo calls PER DAY. I have had to ignore/turn off for peace of mind. If they tried to call I probably couldn't tell due to the tobo calls. I discovered Nelnet when I obtained a credit report. Contact with their acct resolution is did not get the info corrected and stated they cannot correct the credit info. I would have to have a complete XXXX discharge that dated back before the report to the credit bureau occurred. That I signed a paper in XX/XX/XXXXthat I would keep the loaner informed with contact info. I still live here but phone ?????? Being under impression that I was in deferment......am I to call the lender each week to make sure they have not sold my acct?. I don't know how students can keep up with so many companies and transfers in the mist if so much fraudulant companies taking advantage of us....especially XXXX yr old ones. Something needs to be done to clarify who is who and companies responsible for taking deferments with their purchases or alerting the consumer. Now I have 7 to 10 yrs of bad credit from it. I trusted the system when I filed for the deferment to keep it.

Complaint: In XXXX XXXX I contacted XXXX, Nelnet/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX with regard to grossly inaccurate information submitted to the credit bureaus. I had not received any correspondence from the Federal Student loan agency re any alleged debt. When I asked why they hadn’t let me know of any problem in any way, they stated that they didn’t have my mailing address or email. I pointed out that I still have correspondence from them at the correct addresses from XXXX when I was granted discharge on the remaining balance due to permanent disability.XXXX made some corrections and my credit score went above 610, the necessary figure to be considered for affordable housing. I am now technically homeless though I’m still at my address because tenants are suing the landlord for wrongful eviction. I have been turned down for over 50 apts due to these inaccuracies on my report.Now, my score has gone to XXXX due to the fact that when XXXX contacted NelNet, they confirmed that I still owe them money. They even state that I am in delinquent status due to 5-6 months unpaid when I’ve never received a bill from them. I have made two payment arrangements with them, one of which should be reflected on my report in 60 days. The XXXX department itself at the Department of Ed advised me to set up these arrangements and told me that he has contacted XXXX regarding the inaccuracies in my report. I am not in a position to wait 60 days to find a new home. Please help.
