Complaint: I enrolled with Freedom Debt Relief XX/XX/2018. They made extensive promises to settle my debts within 6 months. After just one year, they only settled one debt, and I have been taken to court three times by creditors. Each time Federal Debt Relief said there was nothing they could do, even though I also purchased their legal services. My credit score has dropped by over 100 points, my debts are behind, but the company has charged me a myriad of fees. It has been a complete nightmare.

Complaint: In email correspondence, I was promised by a representative of Freedom Debt Relief that if I deposited approximately {$420.00} per month into my account, they would settle all of my debts with creditors in 42 months or less. When I asked Senior FDR Account Representative XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2016 what would happen if FDR negotiators were unsuccessful in settling my accounts within that period, he responded that the 42-month estimate represented a conservative calculation, that in fact the target date was overestimated. He added, We like to under promise and over deliver. He added that if FDR negotiators " get better results you will be dept free a whole lot sooner. Finally, he wrote, 46 months is a worst case scenario. Given that assurance and only on account of that assurance I agreed to sign up with FDR. In recent months, however, they have asked me to approve two settlements that would require me to make payments to the creditors over the next four years. I have refused to do so. I regard these settlements as breaches of my original agreement. In fact, they represent no debt reduction at all, and in fact, since they also require me to pay a fee to FDR for their services, they represent an increase of my original debt.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I was directed to Freedom Debt Relief after being denied for a debt consolidation loan. I reached out to the company and the program was explained to me. I agreed and signed up for the program, not apparently understanding how the fees worked. In all the documentation I received I was not informed how much of a percentage would be taken during my debt relief program. I payed monthly fees for the account that seemed very reasonable along with a few other fees here and there. I assumed these were the fees for the program not knowing there would be more.
Between XX/XX/2019 and today, XX/XX/2019 I had deposited XXXX. On this date I logged in to see the progress of my account and observed a fee of {$4400.00} which completely caught me by surprise as it was almost the exact amount in my account. I immediately called and spoke with a representative who stated that is was a service fee for my settlement and that I agreed to it when I signed my contract I asked to cancel the account immediately and that I did not agree to pay everything that had been saved as a service fee. I was transferred to someone who could cancel my account.
I spoke with a XXXX. When I asked to cancel my account and be reimbursed. She stated that this had been agreed upon and I could not receive a refund for the services provided. She continued to state I agreed to the fees and was told this on my welcome phone call. I had to ask over 5 times for her to quit arguing and cancel my service. She finally relented and began cancelling account arguing with me the whole time. While cancelling I asked follow up questions about the fees that were not explained thoroughly to me and she stated that they had just made the first payment on my first settlement that day. This apparently entitled them to all the money in my account keeping me from being reimbursed. I confirmed if I had called one day prior I would have gotten my money back she stated that was correct. The agreed upon payment to my debt collector was for just under {$300.00} a month. So they made one payment of roughly {$300.00} and now get to keep {$4400.00} after I asked to cancel my program due to misleading information. They also canceled the settlement so I do not even get the product for my {$4400.00}.
After finding this out I asked to file a complaint, which the person insisted on taking herself. I had to demand more than 5 times that I speak with a supervisor, before she finally connected me for the complaint. The supervisor took my complaint but stated there was not any real follow up that I would receive and that was what I agreed to. All in all I feel like I just lost over {$4500.00} and received nothing in return due to misleading information about the fees.
I obviously researched to see if this had happened before and find that they were required to pay for misleading information in the past. Please look into this so no one else has this happen to them.

Complaint: I started freedom debt relief in XX/XX/XXXX. I had credit card with XXXX owing about XXXX, I enrolled in the problem and was told I would have a monthly payment of {$300.00} and once a settlement was made with the bank I would be paying off my debt in no time. I was mislead in many ways, I am a XXXX year old mother of XXXX and was told that once a settlement was made what I was depositing was going to be put towards service fees and my debt to XXXX XXXX. From XX/XX/XXXX to now XXXX I have made numerous phone calls asking where my money is going and why things arent being done and got no progress and assurance anything was happening. I was told somewhere in XXXX a payment was denied so my account went void but got an email in XXXX, 3 months after the fact meaning now my settlement was lost and had to be resettled. I have invested {$3300.00} into this program have {$400.00} in my dedicated account towards my debt and only {$19.00} was paid to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The program charges {$3000.00} for their services but stated they couldnt pay XXXX and had to drop the settlement because there wasnt enough funds in my account. I have the ledger from the company of all my payments and dont understand how a payment failed when the took out of the same account numerous times causing my account to overdraft with no problem. The staff they have on phones do not answer any questions and constantly transfer you. They all have attitudes and basically at the end I had to cancel the program do to the worry of losing out on even more money with the company being so condescending. They told me I would only be getting back {$130.00} roughly, when Ive invested so much into paying off my debt. I paid {$3000.00} for ultimately nothing. No straight answers, no time frames when I asked for them into how much longer I needed to pay and no exact answers of where my money is going to. Other than {$19.00} out of all of this was paid to XXXX and they failed to tell XXXX that they wouldnt continue paying them until their fees were paid. Freedom debt relief took advantage of me my family and my financial crisis.

Told you not to respond to a lawsuit they filed against you
Complaint: Tne first year into program things were going great. We were told to direct all inquaries from debt collecters to freedom debt relieve. We were told we have lawyers at little to no extra exspence to handle any and all issues that may lead to court. Then we get served by XXXX. Guess what XXXX wants all there money RIGHT NOW! and that " i was told not to pay my bills '' is not a defense. So we scrapped together what money we had and paid the bill to make this nightmare end. Two mouths later, at dinner time I get served again by a different debt collector again asking for all there money in full once again. My wife and I were told we would be taken care of by freedom debt relief. But when we get sued we have to settle the case not FDR. I was scammed. Now were stuck in a huge hole being sued by multiple debt collectors. HUGE MISTAKE. I want out and need a lawyer.

Complaint: Good morning!
I am a client of Freedom Debt Relief. I am reaching out to you because yesterday I happened to find out you filed suit against them XX/XX/XXXX. My contract with them started 5 months later. I am reaching out to you because I am experiencing the same issues that are described in your litigation documentation. I signed a contract with Freedom Debt Relief XX/XX/XXXX. Please see the attached documentation. My contract included 3 creditors, total debt {$15000.00}, with a monthly program payment of {$260.00} per month for 4 years. My contract states this will not affect my credit profile. A year and a half later, my credit score has dropped 200 points. From XXXX to XXXX. I was never late with my payments for my credit cards ( or any other bills for that matter ). I was just told that I could pay off these 3 credit cards a lot faster if I enrolled with Freedom Debt Relief. All of my payments have been on time, being automatically taken from my bank account every month. They didn't start negotiating anything until several months later when the first creditor stated they were suing me. I was told that all 3 creditors would be negotiated with at the same time and that's how my payment and the length of my contract would be determined. A year and a half later, Freedom Debt Relief had not even negotiated with the second creditor. They did nothing until I recently received documentation from my credit card company that they were suing me. So now FDR is telling me my payment will be an additional {$290.00} per month. Totalling {$560.00}! The third and last creditor has not even been contacted by FDR. When I complain to the attorney from FDR 's partner XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, he says he has had multiple complaints about how FDR is treating their clients and I would need to contact them. When I contact FDR, they say to contact XXXX! I am in a desperate situation. They want me to contact them by today if I agree to pay the extra {$290.00}
