Complaint: Commercial Acceptance Company failed to comply with outcome investigation. Collection Agency stated if payment arrangements were set-up, file will not be placed on credit report. XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ext XXXX XXXX indicated call was never received and on vacation. Voicemail never prompt stating she was on vacation. This allowed unsuccessful attempts to reach XXXX. Requested a payment plan and once paid, account be expunged off credit report. XXXX abruptly stated, payment must be satisfied in one lump sum in order for expungement. Company failed to comply with FCRA along with results of last complaint to Consumer Federal Protection Bureau.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I was very ill and needed an ambulance. I have a XXXX XXXX card which I get every year. XXXX XXXX picked me up at my home and then called for a Paramedic unit to meet them along the highway. At the time I did not know what Paramedic unit showed up but 2 paramedics got in the ambulance. I went to XXXX XXXX XXXX in the XXXX XXXX. A few months ago I got a call from XXXX XXXX XXXX telling me I owed them money. I asked what for and they told me my insurances would not pay the bill for them showing up to go along to the Hospital. I asked how much the bill was but they said they would send me a bill but they never have. They told me my insurances would not pay them because they do not have a working contract with XXXX XXXX. I said well then you should have not showed up, I didn't call for any Paramedic unit XXXX XXXX did so let them pay the bill. You knew you had no working contract with XXXX so you want me to eat your mistake? I said I am not paying the bill. I told them I have had to go in the XXXX XXXX but my insurances always paid for the Paramedic unit that came also, but they all work with XXXX XXXX. I think, just my own opinion, this Paramedic thing is a scheme. To this day I have not received a bill from XXXX XXXX XXXX. Then about 2 months ago I got a call from XXXX XXXX XXXX telling me they are a debt collection co. trying to collect a debt from me. I asked who the debt was for and how much was it. They told me it is for XXXX XXXX but would not say how much it was for. I told them I was not paying the bill and proceeded to tell them why and they hung up on me. About a month ago I got another call from XXXX XXXX XXXX asking me if they have the right address for me because they will be suing me and taking me to court and garnishing my wages and so on and so on. I tried again to explain why I am not paying the bill and she got very nasty and just kept repeating my address over and over. Finally I said yes that is my address. Just in the last few days this showed up on all my credit reports and that is how I found out the amount they want me to pay. It is {$420.00}. My credit took a big hit. I refuse to pay this bill for something that was not my fault.

Complaint: I was not aware of this debt until I got a notification on my credit report, I never received anything in the mail/a phone call until after it was reported to my credit. Very rude representatives, constantly calling and harassing me about a debt I should not owe ( insurance information was given to pay ambulance bill ). When I spoke to them they expected a full payment of over {$1100.00} and were very rude to me when I told them I was young and didnt understand and was confused, and proceeded to threaten that they could keep me from being able to finance anything in the future as they would damage my creditors ( home, car, etc ). Now I have received a letter in the mail that Ive been ignoring them and if I dont pay within 5 days they will take further action.

Complaint: I recently checked my credit report and saw posted two collection items from COMMERCIAL ACCEPTANCE CO. posted XX/XX/XXXX. I proceeded to dispute the charges via the credit agencies email dispute pages. I had sent letters to the aforementioned collection agency on or about XX/XX/XXXX and again on or about XX/XX/XXXX. I never received a response to the second letter disputing the debt. More than 18 months later this collection agency posted the debt to my account though to date they have not responded to my second request to verify the debt. The items were removed from my credit report by the end of XXXX. XXXX XXXX I received another collection notice from CAC with another stated amount. I again contacted them XX/XX/XXXX requesting verification of this debt that I do not recognize. On XX/XX/XXXX I received another collection notice with an additional collection item but still nothing showing how I owe this debt. I believe this to be a result of identity theft. I had mine and my children 's credit frozen due to identity theft that was reported to the XXXX, IN police department in XX/XX/XXXX.

Complaint: A non family member was contacted regarding a collection account by this company on XX/XX/20. I called and spoke to XXXX. XXXX confirmed my address. If they have my address they should not be contacting people to locate me. XXXX Told me that I owed XXXX hospital $ XXXX. I explained that I have insurance and my copay is {$100.00} so that bill is not correct. XXXX told me that is what XXXX is reporting and I owe today and it is going to affect my credit if it is not paid. I said I am not going to pay a bill that I do not feel is correct text. Complaint: We have received multiple calls from Commerical Acceptance Group about a debt to XXXX XXXX XXXX for a visit they made to our home for our infant daughter. We have been trying to work this out but the woman we spoke to is very unhelpful and rude. She told my husband she " does not have time for his XXXX '' and that she would put down that we want to file a dispute. We have tried to tell them we do not want to file a dispute we just need more information about the debt. We have been hung up on numerous times while trying to get more information to work out this debt. The debt is in our minor daughter 's name yet somehow they have obtained our phone numbers, birth dates and social security numbers even though we never provided them to any entity involved.

Complaint: I recently found out that I supposedly owe 3,000+ to an apartment complex by applying for a loan and being denied. The dispute took less than 30 days to investigate. I lived at that place for months, and had a cosigner. So if I didn't pay I'm wondering how would I have been able to stay at that property until I graduated and I was able to hand in my keys if I owed this company money. As mentioned previously I also had a cosigner in the event I didn't pay they would be responsible or someone would contact them if I didn't make payment. I don't believe it was fully investigated as I just put in the dispute not even a week ago.

Complaint: My XXXX year old mother received a call on XX/XX/XXXX from a " XXXX '' - XXXX XXXX. I haven't lived with my parents since XX/XX/XXXX. My phone number is listed publicly and easily found. I called and found it was Commercial Acceptance out of XXXX XXXX PA. They were collecting medical debt for XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX PA for me and my husband ( but the call was directed specifically to me ). XXXX XXXX has my correct phone number and it should have been passed on. My husband was out of work for 7 months, and we lost our good health insurance, and had to go on mine, which has a {$10000.00} deductible. I had to take my husband to the ER for severe XXXX, and I needed XXXX XXXX, leaving us with very high bills. I applied for XXXX XXXX earlier this year, after exhausting all other avenues available to me. I was approved this week for a 55 % write-off of my balances. Let me mention that I worked in bad debt collection for 7 years. I know the laws. I know the regulations. I immediately phoned XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, after receiving notice that I was approved for a partial write off so I could initiate a payment plan ( my husband returned to work in XX/XX/XXXX ). I was told that I was sent to collections in the process, and that I really shouldn't have been, and they would try to get my accounts recalled, and that it would take a few days, but they would get back to me. Today was when my mother got the call. I called the number back. I entered the extension, but it didn't take me to XXXX. I honestly do not remember the name of the woman it transferred me to. That woman couldn't explain why my mother was called. My mother is my emergency contact with the hospital after my husband, so all I can think of is that the agency pulled the wrong phone number. I informed her that my husband and I both have bills with XXXX, and we were approved for a charity write-off of 55 %. This is where it got ugly. She wanted me to set up a payment plan with her. I told her no, the accounts were going to be recalled and they shouldn't have been sent in the first place. She proceeded to tell me that I had to pay them, and pay them the full amount that was turned over. I told her no, that's not true, and I was not going to pay them the full amount because the hospital forgave 55 % of the balance. She told me that they had nothing to do with that, and they weren't accepting anything less than the full amount owed, and to take it up with the hospital. I told her no, that wasn't going to happen, and the accounts were going to be recalled. She interrupted me and told me that she needed to " educate me on how collections works '', and that accounts are NEVER recalled, and they won't take any less than what the hospital turned over. I interrupted her and told her they were in violation of the FDCPA for attempting to collect more money than I owe the original creditor, and I was going to report them to the ACA, and the FTC. She got really angry, and told me they already reported me to the credit bureau ( I hadn't seen it show up yet ), and that if I paid the full balance, she'd see what she could do to get it removed ( which, when I worked in collections was also illegal - you can't use credit bureau removal as a bargaining chip to get a balance paid ). I also told her I didn't need an education, as I worked in collections, and that agency I worked for was totally above board and didn't use illegal tactics or threats. She told me that the charity write off was something I had to work out with the hospital and wasn't their concern. I ended the call at that time. I called XXXX XXXX immediately afterward, and spoke to XXXX, and she told me that the accounts should have been put on hold when the charity application process started back in XX/XX/XXXX, and the accounts should have been recalled when I called earlier in the week, and she said she would call me back by Monday XX/XX/XXXX. I told her that their agency is using illegal tactics and she told me I wasn't the first one to complain. She was floored at their behavior. I don't have the exact amounts on the accounts, but mine was around {$450.00}, and my husband 's was around {$1300.00}. Those amounts are BEFORE charity write-off. I don't recall receiving any mail on the balance I owe. I received one letter for my husband last week, but didn't act on it because I knew the charity application had been delivered, and I was awaiting a reply. Over the weekend, I received notification from my credit monitoring service that the accounts were reported to the credit bureau, and my credit score dropped almost 50 points. They split all of the balances off on their own and reported me for every single one instead of one lump amount, doing maximum damage. I spoke to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, and she said the accounts were being recalled and they should be removed from the credit report. I will be watching and hopefully they come off quickly. We worked very hard to get our credit above 700 and it's now back down below.
