Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX reported a debt of {$660.00} to the credit bureaus. This debt originated from XXXX XXXX. I never received ANY form of communication from XXXX XXXX about attempting to collect this debt. I called them today XX/XX/XXXX to resolve the matter. I waited this long hoping would receive some form of communication. When I contacted them, they tyold me my case was being handled by another agency. So they NEVER contacted me, reported it to the credit bureau and sent it to someone else. I contacted that company : XXXX XXXX XXXX. They were very helpful in letting me know I could pay in full or pay half to settle. I wanted it removed from my credit report since I was NOT contacted AT ALL. They informed that only XXXX XXXX could remove it. I called XXXX back and they said NO. They told me they do not have to contact me at all and they can report it at any time. This gave me no opportunity to resolve the matter before it going on my credit report.

Debt is not yours
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a COLLECTION NOTICE from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. showing a balance due of {$170000.00} ( pdf attached ), which included a letter address directly to me alone. This document showed the " Current Creditor '' as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and the " Debt Description '' as XXXX XXXX. The communication also notes that satisfying this debt would put an end to " calls and letters attempting to collect on this account. '' However, I had never received any previous communication regarding any such debt - by mail or by telephone. I found this quite odd since we had made a permanent move from one state to another just over a year ago. I also found it odd that a debt in that amount would be in my name alone since I have been married for over 40 years and all large debts have been in both my name and that of my spouse.
Before seeing the debt description, I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX thinking this debt might have been associated with a medical procedure. I was informed that the hospital did not trade as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and no debt or collection notice was issued by them. It was then that I noticed the debt description and became concerned that this " Notice '' might be a scam since it showed an energy company. I remember years ago that energy companies were overtaking personal accounts without permission from the owners. To further add to my skepticism, this Notice offered a savings of {$1100.00} since " Our client has agreed to accept 9 monthly payments of {$68.00} as a full and final resolution to this account! '' These payments would total {$610.00}. It also offered a savings of {$1200.00} if I - " Set up a one-time payment of {$510.00} to resolve your account in full ... '' I contacted the telephone number shown on the Notice requesting more information about this collection. I spoke with their representative, XXXX. She proceeded to ask for personal information that should have been associated with any debt incurred and I refused to comply. She said without that information she could not provide me any details. I then told her that I would be contacting our attorney, which I did.
The back of the Notice stated that I could send a written notice to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. within 30 days of receipt to dispute the validity of the debt or any portion thereof. It also stated that " ... this office will obtain a verification of the debt or obtain a copy of a judgment and mail you a copy of such judgment or verification. '' The attorney, who also believed this could be a scam, advised that I write this letter to dispute.
I wrote my letter ( pdf attached ) on XX/XX/XXXX including a copy of the Notice and mailed it Certified Mail Receipt on the same day. My certified receipt shows a signature of receipt ( XXXX - last name undecipherable ) on XX/XX/XXXX.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter ( pdf attached ) in response from XXXX XXXX XXXX ( no salutation ), which reads : " Please be advised we represent the above client, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, who is the owner of your account referenced above.
We are in receipt of your request regarding this account. This letter is to serve as notification that we are returning this account back to our client and there will be no further communication from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX regarding this matter. '' Both this letter and the original Collection Notice were signed by XXXX XXXX Operations Manager XXXX - the instructions on the back of this letter read much the same as those on the back of the Collection Notice.
I would like to know why XXXX XXXX, XXXX did not send me a copy of the verification of the debt or a copy of the judgment associated with this debt as they claimed they would when I requested same in writing. I want the documentation regarding this debt so that I can get this issue resolved because I know this is NOT my debt. I can not assume that this debt is no longer associated with my name and current address if I do not receive this in writing from XXXX XXXX XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX or XXXX XXXX. I do not want this debt that I did not incur to show up again on a collection notice or worse in my future. This issue has not been resolved to my satisfaction by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX or as promised by their Notice To All Customers.
I did not sent a second letter to date regarding the original creditor vs current creditor, mainly because XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX did not follow through by sending a copy of the debt verification or a copy of the judgment in response to my first letter as their " Notice To All Customers '' claims they would, and I have no confidence that they would follow through to send me the name and address of the original creditor even if different from the current creditor.
I know that this debt is not mine, but knowing it and having verification that this debt is no longer associated with my name and address are two different things. I would hope that I will not hear another word about this claimed {$170000.00} debt that somehow became associated with my name, but would like some sort of written verification from whoever initiated this collection that I am not responsible for any portion of this debt.
I am also concerned that this may be a scam directed at the elderly, and could very well play out as a scare tactic to force others to pay the lesser amount in order to satisfy a debt they may never have incurred, but are afraid that they may have forgotten about.

Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged
Complaint: Original account was XXXX XXXX/XXXX. Acct No XXXX.
XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX I do not owe this bill and know it. Many attempts were made, and I have challenge this debit for two years. Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: For several months now I have tried to have XXXX XXXX XXXX confirm with me that there was a signed contract for two debts they claim I have. They will delete and/or close the accounts for a short time only to open it again with a different start date each time. One debt is for {$1200.00} and the other is {$570.00}. Each time they remove and replace it into collection it damages my credit more and more. I do not believe I am responsible for these debts as I have not been shown proof I signed a contract with them for these said debts and they came out of nowhere without a fare warning or a letter.

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: Received email notification on XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX XXXX that there was a change to my credit report. I checked the details and found a collection had been added to my credit report. The company is XXXX XXXX XXXX, out of XXXX. XXXX, MN. I called several times, the hours are limited to contact someone at their business. I wrote a letter and requested details because all the details I had on my credit report was " XXXX XXXX XXXX ''. I called XXXX received XXXX help ( see attachments, letter from XXXX ). I visited my local XXXX to try and investigate this issue, no records. They said they sent my debt to XXXX XXXX. I wrote a letter to the Attorney General of Minnesota with the details ( XXXX is a MN business ). I have attached all letters with the details. I called XXXX XXXX early this morning ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and finally got ahold of someone who could explain. I don't even have an account number ( XXXX ) I can refer to so this could be researched. Apparently Attorney General of Minnesota had reached out to XXXX XXXX XXXX to get details and got this moving along. According to the two individuals I spoke with at XXXX XXXX ( XXXX and XXXX ) today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) they are sending a manual request to the three bureaus to remove this from my credit report. That's great but in the meantime qualifying for a home equity loan has been denied because of this. Received no notification, no letter, no phone call, nothing to give me advance notice of this collection, XXXX just attached it to my credit report! My issue is now with XXXX because they either sold this alleged debt to XXXX XXXX or XXXX XXXX purchased " old '' debt from XXXX and attempted to collect their share. This was for {$85.00}!!! I have attached a letter from XXXX which is the most unhelpful piece of correspondence. XXXX needs to investigate this and remove me from their database. This alleged debt is for a debit card and the date was XX/XX/XXXX. I still do not have the details. Any help you can provide would be most helpful. In the meantime I am closing all of my XXXX credit card accounts ( zero balances by the way, have been excellent customer of XXXX ). The debit card was never used and don't understand why it would have a {$85.00} balance from XX/XX/XXXX.

Debt is not yours
Complaint: To whom this may concern, XXXX XXXX reported my account with a balance of {$0.00} in XX/XX/XXXX. In the attachments provided you will see my last payment date of XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX is requesting that I provide more information than what has already been updated on my credit reporting. It is illegal for your company to obtain an account without having all of the information. In the next 30 days, I need to view my ORGINAL CONTRACT W/ A COPY OF MY SSN AND MY ID to prove ownership and not identity theft. Reason : Per my credit reporting account w/ XXXX XXXX has been closed sinceXX/XX/XXXX with the last payment being XX/XX/XXXX. I am also requesting my ENTIRE FILE that way your company can be provided all necessary information regarding my payments. If you are unaware of this information you would need to contact XXXX and update my reporting. I have no recollection of any business with XXXX and I would also like for you to prove that I owe XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX I do plan to take legal action thus you have already been provided proof showing debt is not valid and made of abuse of credit reporting.
XXXX XXXX XXXX Last 4 : XXXX Previous information was submitted XX/XX/XXXX via email after sending correspondence week of XX/XX/XXXX via mail. ( XXXX previously advised they can not received proof via email only mail-stall tatic easy way for company to state they never received and or stall disputing process. ) Orginal disputed information contained snap shots showing XXXX XXXX XXXX balance XX/XX/XXXX last payment XX/XX/XXXX. When following up with XXXX to be sure receipt of information they stated they have received information and requested for me to send them further information such as contract/agreements made to resolve the balance. I then advised XXXX that since they purchased account they should have all information necessary regarding file and should not need me to send anything to verify. If they do not have information they have to go off of what was provided by their client and their client has provided them misinformation per credit reporting. I then sent the above information XX/XX/XXXX with attachments from credit karma showing balance has been resolved. Please help with this issue.

Information belongs to someone else
Complaint: My information includes a false " also known as '' name of XXXX XXXX XXXX and an address of XXXX XXXX, XXXX, MI XXXX both of which were added to my personal data without my knowledge. Neither the name of the address is true. I believe a debt collection co, probably did this as I have received notices from XXXX XXXX, XXXX as well as XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX stating that I have a delinquent utility bill with XXXX XXXX in XXXX, MI. All of the above is false, and I believe I am being targeted because of my age, XXXX years old and retired. XXXX XXXX has 1013 complaints against them from BBB and several of the complaints when read, are so similar to my situation that one has to believe that this is a scam that has succeeded. Even the same utility company is named, XXXX XXXX in several of the complaints so XXXX and/or XXXX likely bought a list of delinquent accounts from XXXX for pennies on the dollar and are now out trying to collect anything they can. Why else would the first notice offer to settle a supposed debt of {$970.00} for a quick fee of {$240.00}? How can XXXX allow false information to be added to my profile without my being informed?
