Complaint: I am very sorry, but the problem related to case XXXX has not even been remotely resolved. Citigroup offered a $ XXXX credit card to a person without an income, means to prove an income or the capacity to contract due to an XXXX XXXX XXXX . This person is my wife and their they are flat out not stating what has transpired in their statement. This is their statement. " I sent a letter to XXXX XXXX to advise him that we are unable to disclose any information about the account with a third party without a valid POA. I advised him to send us a certified copy of the document assignin g him POA for his wife in order to investigate this matter further. '' None of this is true. 1. They have never sent me a letter. Do they have proof of this? No, they do n't.
2. I spoke to them and they said they could not speak to me, so I asked them to simply send my wife a letter then, and she would talk to me about the contents of the letter.
3. They never sent me wife a letter, they never sent me a letter. We have had zero c ommunication on this matter. The issue here is th at Citi is a predatory lender. They allowed someone with no income or means to have a $ XXXX credit line with no verification of anything, such as an ability to repay this money. Sorry, but this is not resolved.

Problem with fees
Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX I received a bill for annual fee of {$95.00} for a credit card I did not use. I called to cancel the card and the customer service rep was very reluctant to close the account for me and said that if I kept it open she would credit the {$95.00} annual fee after I activated the card. The card did not arrive and I was charged {$95.00}. After multiple calls I finally received the card and activated but continued to receive past due for {$95.00}. After multiple additional calls I canceled the card and was told the fee would be waived. I continued to receive past due notices and a collection letter. I made additional calls and guaranteed it has been handled. I am requesting copies of letters sent to credit bureaus clearing this false late charge and documentation showing closed account with zero balance fo r Citibank card ending in XXXX . Please refer to the account notes and customer service calls ( recorded ) to Citibank to clarify and resolve this situation ( starting in XXXX XXXX to present ). I am also contacting the better business bureau and the state attorney general 's office with this complaint.

Complaint: CitiMortgage has committed egregious violation in servicing our former account. CitiMortgage ref uses to take responsibility for 3 f ailed attempts at modification. It is THEIR failure, we cooperated and met our obligations under agreements fully. CitiMortgage refuses to report this modification period as required in regulation to all major credit bureaus/ reporting agen cies. CitiMortgage offe rs a lawyered and morally deficient explanation for not responding. CitiMortgage re fuses to respond any further than attached documents reflect . CitiMortgage has done great harm to former clients. Clients have continually corresponded t o CitiMortgage f or redress. These practices must cease.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: Let me begin by stating that this is out of the norm for me to report any company. However, I am totally dissatisfied by the following situation : I have been with CitiBank since XXXX . Therefore, I have developed a payment routine and have never missed or been late on a payment. My payment is due on the XXXX every month. I mailed the payment XXXX XXXX ( every month I mail the payment on the XXXX ). However, CitiBank posted that they did not receive it until the XXXX and charged me a late fee of XXXX . I immediately called CitiBank and asked them about the late fee of XXXX . They aggressively stated that because I was indeed late they were unable to waive the fee. I asked them for a copy of the envelope to confirm the post office postmarked date, they stated that they were unable to retrieve the envelope proving that they received it on XXXX XXXX . Nonetheless, I have been a loyal customer for over 23 years.I do not understand why CitiBank was unable to provide me with proof of receive date, I was not allowed to dispute the charge nor, was a waiver of the XXXX fee given. I have never been late or have had a fee waived. The representative also confirmed that I have not had a late fee within the pas t two years. I do not appreciate the hassle and the inconvenience. I had to call o n two separ ate occasions. Each representative lacked great customer service skills and was insensitive to my concerns. Although, I can not control the mailman, I am able to control the date in which I mailed it which is before or the same date every month. This issue could have been easily resolved by waiving the fee for a LOYAL customer or at least providing me evidence.

Complaint: This is a followup t o CitiBanks response to my complaint XXXX , which you sent to me yesterday. As a result, CFPB decided to close the case. Please reconsider your decision after you review my response as follows : Lets make it clear : I, the consumer, have never expressed or denied my liability or responsibility to pay with Home Depot credit card for the proposed project. As a result, I agree with CitiBank that you provided a representative of XXXX XXXX XXXX , with your credit card information, including your account number and expiration date, thereby assuming liability for any resulting charges. The only issue here was when and how to pay. The hand-written agreement signed on XX/XX/XXXX stated : Buyer agr ees to pay for job in full at time of construction completion & final inspection There was no mention of payments by installment. 1 ) Th e XXXX card purchases were conducted by a third party without my acknowledgement and authorization. 2 ) The card usages were not related to the project. Based on my investigation, the cabinets were ordered with cash from the contractor a t Home Depot in XXXX , NJ. According to the receipts you attached, the card transactions were completed at Home Depot in XXXX XXXX , NJ. 3 ) Pe r Consumer Affa irs Rule, N.J.A.C. 13:45A-16.2 ( a ) 10.ii, Final pay ment to t he contractor is not required to be made before a final inspectio n is performed. Although the contractor obt ained the complete card info, it was agains t the Law to take the last payment before the project was even completed. Lets make it clear again that the store credit of {$4900.00} posted on XX/XX/XXXX c ame directly from the contractor as t he XXXX must have realized the consequence if they failed to make a correction.

Complaint: I have received letters from Citi Bank that my credit cards accounts were closed without reasons and an advanced notice. I respect Citi Banks decision to close the accounts. However the reward Thank You points and Dividend Dollars from the accounts were forfeited. I earned and accumulated these points and Dividend Dollars by using Citi Cards over the years, and Citi Bank collected the transaction fee from merchants.

Problem with customer service
Complaint: I am making this complaint on behalf of my mother. She is XXXX years old and suffers from XXXX . For the last year or so she has been XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX by one of her home health aides. Her credit cards have been stolen, and there are over {$13000.00} dollars of charges on just XXXX of her credit card accounts that were made without authorization. I have a full DPOA and was successful in canceling the cards, however, I have tried working with the bank since XXXX of last year, but they refuse to discuss with me or act upon the account despite my having sent them a copy of the DPOA. Further they are harassing with dunning calls and letters to my mother which are very upsetting to her.

Finally, blindly made the request for credit via online submission as I was told after the credit line was approved a increase could be requested. Currently $ XXXX will not serve the purpose of initiating a business relationship with Citi. Today, after 3 escalations I was speaking to Sr. Acct S upervisor ( XXXX XXXX ) & it 's becoming clear Citi does n ot have a single competent person working at ANY level of customer service ... Need to speak with an XXXX , customer Executive t o exercise a meaningful Brick & Mortar customer inquiry, a meaningful & informative request for a SPECIFIC request for a creditline increase.
