Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Complaint: I opened a Citi XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card in XXXX, XXXX. The credit card terms indicated a {$650.00} phone offer for a {$2000.00} purchase using the XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card in the first XXXX months ( screenshot attached ). I did make {$2000.00} in the first XXXX months ( also attached ), and the phone offer showed up at the bottom of my account summary page as " Take advantage of your XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Offer ''. But recently when I looked at my account I could not find the Phone offer anymore.
I contacted Citi customer service and they claimed that in their disclosure it stated that transfer balance, account fee would not be counted as a part of spending, which made my " valid spending '' {$1900.00}, and refuse to credit the reward to me.
I got really confused. Clearly, the threshold would have been met if the membership fee was counted. Their advertisement was misleading in a way that hided significant information. The lacked clear definition of consumption, therefore, misled me.

Complaint: This is a follow-up to Complaint No. XXXX As previously reported, a cashier 's check in the amount of {$50000.00} was issued by Citibank NA payable to me. I duly mailed this check in a XXXX XXXX pre-paid, pre-addressed envelope as I have routinely done for years. The cashiers ' check went missing. The branch manager of the Citibank office writing the check, XXXX XXXX. never documented his efforts. When, unbeknown to me, XXXX XXXX left Citibank, I had NO ONE who could tell me when or where my funds would re replaced. A certified letter to Citibank 's General Counsel in New York City, XXXX XXXX XXXX, was sluffed off to someone in Citibank 's Executive Office, who 's single email to me was non-responsive and inept, designed only to kick the can down the road ( after I had spent over 3 hours of my time proving that neither I nor XXXX had the check ). I left a detailed message on her VoiceMail, and never once heard back from her or XXXX XXXX.
In mid XXXX, my issue appeared on Citibank 's internal controls, and the new branch manager of my Citibank office, XXXX XXXX, emailed me to set up a date I could come in to pick up the check. I MUST emphasize that the entire 90 days ' Citibank had my {$50000.00} on its books, NOT ONE PERSON I CONTACTED WITHIN CITIBANK ( which included numerous unproductive visits to the branch, and my certified letter to XXXX 's Legal Counsel in XXXX and my returned call and email to an equally unresponsive, unknowledgeable assistant ) KNEW CITIBANK 'S POLICY OR TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN IT TO ME. This matter could have been resolved had ( 1 ) XXXX XXXX explained at the time I ordered a Stop Payment that I was agreeing for Citibank to hold my funds for 90 days ; ( 2 ) Citibank 's General Counsel in XXXX, or the incompetent person he unprofessionally sluffed my valid inquiry off to, notified me of Citibank 's procedure ; ( 3 ) Citibank requires its officers ( including Branch Managers ) to be fully versed in the relevant procedures, explain same to its customers AND require its officers to document each meeting and the agreements made to the customer during those meetings so the significant investment of time by the customer does n't have to start all over when/if that Bank officer leaves ; AND ( 4 ) Citibank seriously considered the 100 % collateralized loan to me in the amount of the cashiers ' check which Citibank could have called due and been FULLY repaid whenever their policies so allowed.
NONE OF THIS HAPPENED. CITIBANK, INCLUDING ITS GENERAL COUNSEL, EITHER DOES NOT KNOW ITS OWN POLICIES OR IS TOO CARELESS OF ITS REPONSIBILITIES TO EXPLAIN ITS POLICIES TO THE AFFECTED CUSTOMER.
My tax dollars stabilized Citibank to it could continue in business. It was the last major money center bank to pass the " stress tests ''. The careless " XXXX you '' attitude Citibank has treated me with make me wish from the bottom of my soul that Citibank had collapsed, as its own errors and omissions would have resulted in.
Citibank remains " too big to fail '', too big to respect its customers ' rights to know where their {$50000.00} is, too big to train its officers adequately, and too big to do anything about its General Counsel 's inept response to a valid request.

Complaint: I am contacting your agency in hopes you can help me get my money back. I have paid several companies thousands of dollars for various online businesses related and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX was one of them. They took my money under false pretenses. I paid them with my MC ATT Universal Citibank card on X/XX/2016 for {$690.00} then another one at the same day of {$19.00} and another one on XX/XX/2016 of {$6900.00}. They promised me a second web page and a profitable online business. I never received any goods or services. I have been lied to and charged for services that have not been provided as promised. They have used false and misleading tactics and it is clear that they never intended to fulfil their end of the deal. I know its been a while but I need your help in contacting my credit card company so they can open an investigation. I am seeking your help. I am in debt and all I wanted was an extra income. I hope you help me get my money back. Thank you

Complaint: I am required to carry Flood Insurance on my home. Per the 1994 FEMA Reform Act, a copy of which is attached, I am only required to carry a policy for the outstanding principal balance of my loan which is currently {$130000.00}. This is the lesser of the 3 requirements.
Attached is a copy of my Insurance Dec Page, with coverage for over XXXX. When I requested a reduction of my coverage limits, Citibank required me to carry coverage for XXXX AND withdrew funds from my escrow to pay for this " gap coverage '' Per my conversation with FEMA this is in direct violation of their policy.
Per my conversation with Citibank Mortgage, they just require additional coverage?? This is unacceptable. This violation has cost me hundred and hundreds of dollars for unnecessary insurance premiums, which also has resulted in my monthly payment to increase hundreds of dollars.

Complaint: Received a letter on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX regarding a debt collection. Sent XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX a letter on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX requesting their Texas Surety Bond information and debt validation pursuant to Texas Finance Code Section 392.202. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX responded on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX with account statements from the original creditor but failed to provide their Texas Surety Bond per Section 392.101 of the Texas Finance Code and other documents required by Texas Finance Code Section 392.202.
Regardless of the validation requirement not being met, XXXX XXXX XXXX has violated Section 392.101 of the Texas Finance Code which prohibits a third-party debt collector or credit bureau from engaging in debt collection in Texas unless the third-party debt collector or credit bureau has obtained a surety bond and filed a copy of the bond with the Office of the Secretary of State.
Texas law considers a debt collector as any person who regularly attempts to collect debts owed to themselves or others.
Chapter 392, Finance Code, provides for both civil remedies and criminal penalties. Tex. Fin. Code 392.402.404. A consumer may take private legal action against a third-party debt collector or credit bureau for a violation of Chapter 392. In addition, a consumer may file a complaint with the attorney general if the consumer feels that the third-party debt collector or credit bureau has violated Chapter 392 by engaging in a false, misleading, or deceptive act or practice.
Engaging in debt collection without filing a bond with the secretary of state is a violation of Chapter 392 and may also be a criminal offense. Tex. Fin. Code 392.402.

Complaint: After filing a complaint with the CFPB, I finally received a detailed letter from Macys through XXXX XXXX. As the attached letter shows, I am even more confused about the propriety of the alleged credit card balance that Macys claims to be due. Macys acknowledges account errors of many sorts.
I am willing to pay whatever I owe but I would like specific proof by way of signed receipt so I can confirm exactly what I bought that constitutes the amount claimed to be owed. If it is valid I will write an immediate check.
Based on XXXX XXXX 's letter, and through no fault of hers, I have no confidence in Macys ' account record-keeping. Thank you.

Received bad information about your loan
Complaint: This is in regards to my previous complaints. The most recent one is # XXXX. Citibank responded to my last complaint stating that they have not received my payment. I have a receipt showing that they did in fact receive my payment on XXXX XXXX, and it was received by XXXX XXXX ( see attachment ). My check was returned to me ( yet again ) on XXXX XXXX with a letter stating that they could not verify my correct account number. I checked the account number that I wrote on the check and it matches all of the documents that I have received from Citibank previously and the account number that I was using to make payments during my cosigner 's bankruptcy ( I can provide proof if this if needed ). If the account number has changed I have never been notified. Every time I call Citibank to discuss the loan they either tell me that I have a zero balance with them, or they have no record of an account with my information ( but refuse to give this to me in writing ). This makes me wonder whether or not this debt is even valid. I have made many attempts to pay this debt, but Citibank continues to make it impossible to do so. I keep getting false or misleading information about this loan from Citibank.

Complaint: I had been trying to applied for a citi bank credit card since last year, on Sunday XXXX XXXX XXXX I tried to applied for a credit card over the phone. And still got denied. I truly do n't understand why because I have an excellent credit score history. I called once to Citibank and all they told me was that I had too many credit card accounts open. Which is not true. I think their policy and procedures of getting a credit card with citi bank is horrible. I would like to get a more depth explanation of why I had been denied multiple times in getting a credit card? Problem with fees
Complaint: When I pay over the minimum payment as told to by others, they seem to just keep that money like several others! This has been happening for years, and they charge me interest + interest! Macy 's and others* promises all these discounts but do n't even offer discounts for the perfumes and makeup I buy from them! Their products are cheaply made like from someone in XXXX or somewhere, that hates U.S. Then they turn around and sell it at an overpriced price and on top of that do all kinds of extra charges in interest and bill payments. I 'm not in accounting but when I overpay it drops my payments, and is supposed to pay off more cheap products than interest! I saw better things offered in XXXX than these places offer in America, online. I 'm so mad I finally had to say it again. Macy 's was very nice to me, but their accounting probably needs an IRS Audit. And again, for their products! Who made this junk and why are they selling it so high? At my yard sales no one wants it, they just judge me. And I ca n't return the unopened products because I bought them awhile ago.

Fee problem
Complaint: I opened a checking account with CitiBank 1.5 years ago. They immediately started charging me {$30.00} fees every month. I was n't aware that the fees were being charged on my account because I could n't log in online. I called in multiple times complaining about it and they could n't figure out what was wrong. Each time I would ask to make sure there are n't any fees on my account and they told me there were n't ( they LIED ).
After a year of this, they finally managed to fix my " online profile '' so that I could actually log in and see my account. I discovered {$300.00} in fees charged. I called in to their support center and they waived 4 out of 10 of them. I asked for the rest of them to get refunded and I 've been stuck in a game of phone tag for 2 months now. The phone center sends me to the branch, the branch sends me to the phone center. Additionally, the branch is only open for a few hours a day and on west-coast time ( I 'm in XXXX ). I finally got the branch to refund an additional 3 fees but the money never showed up in my bank account. I called the phone center again and they have no notes of it ...
Today I tried to shut down my account entirely but they told me that if I do that then I definitely wo n't get any of my money back.

Complaint: Complaint against : Citi Cards, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, SD XXXX Account No : XXXX I am a XXXX ( XXXX ), on XXXX XXXX I made an online reservation for, XXXX XXXX in New York on XXXX XXXX, for my daughters XXXX birthday, for XXXX XXXX.
Two days before I called the hotel to request a room with view of XXXX XXXX, they told me it was not the XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX, they were willing to cancel my reservation free of charge since it was more than 24 hours before my scheduled arrival, however they told me since the booking company has already charged my credit card, I need to call the booking co. I called the booking co, had to make multiple calls/holding for more than two hours, I was told that I can not cancel my booking, since I had to do it 7 days in advance.
Then I called Citibank my credit card co to dispute this charge, they sent me a letter dated XXXX XXXX, which states " since merchants not agreed to accept your cancellation request, we are unable to assist you in obtaining credit for this dispute ''.
Its industry standard, hotels charge your credit card on check in, you can cancel your serration 24 hours in advance.
This booking co ( XXXX XXXX ) had total disregard for these industry standards, and also charged my credit card XXXX days prior to my arrival, {$710.00}.
When I contacted Citibank, they failed to provide me any consumer protections.
