Complaint: Our loan was sold from XXXX to Carrington Mortgage in XXXX XXXX '. We were in the middle of a modification with XXXX when the loan was sold. We contacted Carrington and were told we did n't qualify for a Modification and that all passed due amounts were due to avoid foreclosure. After getting funds together I called Carrington and asked what was past due amount + 1 month to stay ahead. They gave me dollar amount XXXX and that is what I paid. Then on XXXX/XXXX/16 we received a Certified Letter stating we were 2 months past due and needed to pay this by future date. I called them and stated this was not accurate and they told me to disregard the letter as it must have been crossed in the mail with the payment. The same thing happened XXXX, same response must have been an oversight and to disregard. When I call to make my payment in XXXX they tell me I am 2 months past due and to catch up I need to go on a payment plan of XXXX paid in XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. I agree to this as I do n't want to be foreclosed on. We had fraud in our bank account at the end of XXXX, so knowing there might be an issue with my payment of XXXX I call them and let them know. They said that I can make a double payment when my funds are available. I make a payment of XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/16, when I call afterwards to confirm payment they tell me I am still 1 month past due and I need to set up ANOTHER payment plan for XXXX for XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. I asked them to double check the amount and they assured me that I was 1 month behind so I agreed to the payment plan. I then receive a Certified letter dated XXXX/XXXX/16 stating XXXX and XXXX payments are past due and that I need to pay XXXX to bring the account current. I call them and they say disregard as it was computer generated. So after the payment on XXXX of XXXX that means alone in the month of XXXX 2016 I PAID XXXX on my account. I then call Carrington to make sure everything is on the up and up so we can get a Home Loan for our current resident. I speak to a XXXX who goes over my account. While we are going over the account the math is not adding up in various ways. She also states that Carrington has reported me 30 days late XXXX, XXXX. She stated she could n't figure out the issues with the payments so she would research and have me call back XXXX. I called back XXXX/XXXX/16 and spoke to XXXX he tried to email XXXX but was not able to touch base with her. He confirmed all the information I had went over with XXXX. He as well was saying the math was n't adding up and looks like there is a month missed somewhere. He also stated they needed to remove the 30 day late from XXXX as I had a grace period of 60 days after the loan was sold. He also stated there were 4 certified letters sent all showing ATLEAST XXXX past due but the dollar amounts in the letters was not adding up correctly. I called again on XXXX as a certified letter was attempted at my house. I spoke to XXXX XXXX asking her the details on the letter. She stated the letter was saying I was past due XXXX ( XXXX ) and XXXX ( XXXX ) and that I needed to pay a total of XXXX to bring the account current. She as well agreed there was a mistake and she could n't give me any answers as to why it did n't make sense. She documented my account and forwarded info to her manager and he should be in touch with me if he could help. I then confirmed my payment of XXXX for XXXX and she said I should just pay the minimum XXXX and she does n't think I should be paying the XXXX. My XXXX credit report ( this is the only report that shows monthly payments to them ) shows current XXXX XXXX, 30 days late XXXX 2016,60 days late XXXX 2016, 90 days late XXXX 2016, and current XXXX 2016. This is scaryas no one at Carrington can explain why or how this happened

Complaint: I made payments as stated from Carrington Mortgage to get my account current. Was directed to make an extra month payment as well. XXXX and XXXX payment was made online and cleared from bank account. I saw an additional amount due on my account in XXXX and asked what the amount was for. The representative could not tell me and told me that I had to ask a specific question due to the notes on my account. So I asked directly what is the additional charge showing on my account and why has n't the mortgage payment that was paid ( extra ) not applied to my account its still sitting in the unapplied funds. The representative said that they were waiting for the XXXX payment to be paid before they posted the ( mortgage payment ) unapplied funds to the account. He then stated that he could not explain the charges on the account that if I wanted a break down that I would need to request that in writing and mail or fax that request in. I said that by law you have to explain all charges to me and I must be notified in writing as to what charges are being placed on my account and for what reason. He then said for me to call back in a couple of days for an explanation after the funds have been posted to my account. I called back and basically got the same excuse that they could not tell me what the charges were for and that I needed to request it in writing. I requested this is writing and sent this request in as directed to do. I never received a response. In XXXX I received a letter stating that I have not made my XXXX payment nor XXXX ( sitting in unapplied funds ) and they charged me additional fees such as property inspection fee, attorney fees, title fee, and so on. I completed the paperwork that was included for a payment plan or modification just to prevent a foreclosure procedure until they resolve my account. I found a contact number for the Mortgage assistance department and emailed them the details as well trying to get a resolution and he emailed back a response stating they received my paperwork, apologized for the issue, and said that someone would be in touch with me after they investigate my account. No one has contacted me concerning my account. I received another letter shortly after stating that I was behind on my XXXX and XXXX payment, when XXXX was sitting in the unapplied funds. I then get another letter stating that they do not have my social security number and that if I do not provide this that I can by charged a penalty fee from the IRS. If they do not have my social then how are my payments being applied to my account correctly and what was transferred over from XXXX XXXX XXXX when they sold my mortgage. How do I know that all of the funds on my account was correctly posted and I am not being charged incorrectly or fraudulently. I am not getting any results at the moment from Carrrington Mortgage and I have found that recently others are going through the same situation as I am after their mortgage was sold to them. I feel that I am also being discriminated against because we had to file bankruptcy which has been finalized, but I am still being treated as if I am currently in XXXX. Also no Customer Relation Manager has contacted me as I was told I would receive some type of contact from.

Complaint: I recently contacted Carrington Morgage Services Located at XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX, AZ XXXX and they are refusing to remove my PMI insurance from my account. Our Property appriasals from the XXXX XXXX show our home has increased dramtically in value to {$140000.00}. Our loan amount at this time with Carrington Mortgage is {$100000.00}. Loan to Value is enough for us to have this removed. I have already faxed them a formal request to remove this and they are refusing. Complaint: I had a mortgage with XXXX XXXX. I made all payments, I even had a payment plan with them, bi-monthly. They closed that program down wth no warning. I was injured on a job, had XXXX fell behind in payments, caught up the month in question is XXXX. My daughter and I made the full payment, late but it was made. Later on XXXX had a Home preservation program ( loan modification ) I entered it during XX/XX/XXXX. The modified payment began on XX/XX/XXXX- XX/XX/XXXX, a six-month program. after it was done I was to resume my normal paymens. Somewhere along the way, XXXX destroyed six months of payments they transferred my loan to Carrington, then they said I was behind and owed Carrington the six months of payment beginning in XX/XX/XXXX including the difference from the modification payments. I have my records that shows I paid everything and Carrington will not accept them because of a missing signature on faxed copies. They have sent back my payment for XX/XX/XXXX. They accepted my payments for XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. They told me they will not accept anymore payments from me.

Complaint: I previously filed a complaint with the Case Number Case number : XXXX. The response received from the Mortgage Service Provider as their response identified illegal compliant issues that violate HUD, FCRA and conflicting information with handling disputes that is not on their disclosures.
As in my previous complaint, all I needed was a one month forbearance to get caught up and avoid paying excessive late fees. I was advised by CMS representative that the company does n't participate in forbearance options. I encourage to listen to the phone calls for validation. This is not true as HUD has multiple forbearance options such as special forbearance, formal forbearance and informal forbearance.
I 'm not disputing RESPA or the escrow applied. How is this relevant to my complaint? Does paying all the late fees to Carrington Mortgage impact the escrow? This does n't make sense.
The company is bringing up the purpose of the FCRA regulation ; however, the FCRA regulation does have verbiage that company may not report negative information. Considering, I was unable make a payment via IVR due to line being busy ( falls into a technical issue on the company behalf ). Additionally, the negative information remained on my report without indicating the transactions are in dispute while the transactions were in dispute.
I only received XXXX RMA files, the XXXX I filed out at fax ; however, the company did n't receive it. I received XXXX later after being told my options resulting in disqualification.
The company charges excessive fees for making payment. {$15.00} for placing with CMS, {$5.00} for placing through and IVR system? Before XXXX this company collected late payment fees in addition to other fees via IVR or calling through CMS. Just as it is reported on the company website it states ( additional fees may apply ). Additionally, I find this odd as that verbiage on the disclosure ( may be submitted ) is also verbiage on the Discloser that is related to FCRA.
All complaints to be submitted in writing is not reported in the company disclosure.
Based upon your investigation, CMS did not accurately report the loan status to the major credit reporting bureaus. I am being held liable for technical issues of the company additionally, they inaccurately reported my information to the bureaus during a dispute.
In the past, the only payment options encored a fee. I only had online access through public Wi-Fi spots which are not safe or secured or by mail to a lockbox which I was concern that it will receive and/or process late by the time I had the money in the account. I agree CMS has payment options but majority of them requires additional fee.
CMS is not committed as they are not properly following the FCRA regulation, detailed information is missing from their disclosures. I only request for a month forbearance ( which Is rather simple for most data furnishers ) without filling out excessive paperwork for a loan modification which I was informed I do not qualify. Also, provided it appears, I 'm being mis-directed by CMS which is providing RESPA and escrow accounts escrow accounts that is not relevant to this complaint. Being misled from more than a few representatives within CMS. In short, CMS responses are irrelevant, unjust and dishonest.
This has already caused a hardship as I have a deck that is collapsing and needing replaced estimating XXXX. which I do n't not have. I had an excellent credit score and enough equity for a refi with a cash out option ; however, providing the negative information, prevents me from the cash out option and now I have to resolve another safety concern. Additionally, I do n't have a computer and was going to use the cash out option to purchase a computer so that I can go back to school to get my XXXX XXXX and XXXX to keep my XXXX.

Complaint: I have a current mortgage with Carrington Mortgage. I have been paying additional payments monthly towards reducing the principal in addition to my monthly mortgage payment. I have received numerous calls and requests to redo my mortgage citing the additional principal payment as the motivation for these solicitations. Last month I gave in to numerous calls from an employee named XXXX @ XXXX who claimed that he could refinance the mortgage and provide me substantial savings. I agreed to let him show me the numbers and he said that to give me the information, he would need access to my credit scores. I agreed to the inquiry and received a lengthy document that I scanned to see just the numbers which did not show a substantial savings. He called after I received the papers and I told him that I did n't want to change anything about my mortgage and I did n't want to refinance. He was aggressive and pushy and I was definite about not refinancing. I received a letter several days after our conversation which was a document " Statement of Credit Denial, Termination, or Change '' described the description of Account, Transaction or Requested Credit as " Obtain residential mortgage financing '', and description of Action taken as " Application withdrawn '' .. I NEVER applied for a mortgage. I was told by a lawyer that this would reflect negatively on my credit and indeed I have copies of the credit reports which state the same. I want Carrington Mortgage to rescind the letter from any credit reporting agency. I should n't have to explain to any potential lending institution that I never took funds from this loan application, because there was never an application made. This action by Carrington Mortgage puts them in the class of XXXX XXXX who sets up accounts unbeknownst to their customers and then charges them interest. I will not be happy until I have in writing that this aggression has been reversed and that I will not have to explain away the actions of my mortgage company through no fault of my own. I never agreed to, signed nor requested mortgage refinancing. It tells me that the way I am paying off my mortgage must be in my best interest, because the company certainly does n't do so.

Complaint: I am writing this email in pure frustration with Carrington Mortgage Services. Although from my previous experience it will probably do no good.
I applied for a modification on the above referenced loan XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I made my payment for XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX as I make my payment every month late on the last day of the month. To my dismay as of XXXX/XXXX/XXXX Carrington had not posted my payment so I called to find out why. I was told it was not posted because I had applied for a modification and they hold payments when your account is being reviewed for modification. I asked will this be reported to my credit bureau as 30 days past due and I was assured it would not. I was even asked by a representative named XXXX if I am not 30days past due why am I applying for a modification anyway. Well surprise, surprise Carrington did in fact report me as being 30 days past due for XXXX XXXX as I had feared they would. I was told to fax a copy of my credit report showing this to XXXX. I faxed this on the XXXX and XXXX of XXXX and I was told this process can take up to 30 days.
Since I opened this loan in XXXX XXXX it has been nothing but XXXX. First I was told if I refinance with Carrington my mortgage payments would be reduced to $ XXXX/monthly. Then 3 months later they increased my payments to {$2300.00} stating they miscalculated my real estate taxes. So of course this has caused me continuous financial difficulty. Every month I struggle to pay this exorbitant mortgage payment and barely make it each month by the end of the month. Then in XXXX XXXX I made my payment through Carrington 's online payment system on Friday XXXX/XXXX/XXXX but dated it for the XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and they posted it XXXX XXXX which made my account 30 days late. I contested and begged for them to remove it but they refused. My credit is very important to me and sometime we go without a lot of things to make this mortgage payment every month.
I enlisted the help of a realtor to attempt to sale the property but sadly it is not worth what I owe. Everytime I call Carrington Mortgage it is a terrible degrading experience. Your customer service representatives are terrible and your policies are not customer oriented.
I absolutely hate Carrington Mortgage and everything they stand for.
I would appreciate it greatly if Carrington would remove the 30 day late they have reported on my credit report for XXXX.

Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/16, I received a Payoff Statement from Carrington Mortgage Services of {$570.00} valid until XXXX/XXXX/16. I paid that amount through XXXX online banking. XXXX XXXX XXXX sent that amount on XXXX/XXXX/16 for delivery on XXXX/XXXX/16. A letter from Carrington dated XXXX/XXXX/16 stated Carrington did not receive my XXXX/XXXX/16 payment and that I owed {$550.00} which included a late charge. I immediately called Carrington and informed them I sent them the loan payoff amount and faxed them a copy of my online banking statement. I also contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX Online Banking. On XXXX/XXXX/16. a XXXX XXXX XXXX representative and myself called Carrington and XXXX XXXX XXXX faxed Carrington proof of my payment. XXXX from Carrington told us they located the funds XXXX XXXX XXXX sent. A letter from Carrington dated XXXX/XXXX/16, stated they located the {$570.00} and it was posted to my loan as the XXXX payment with an effective date of XXXX/XXXX/16. On XXXX/XXXX/16, I called Carrington again and spoke to XXXX and informed her the {$570.00} was the Payoff Statement amount and should be applied as such. She put me on hold to speak to someone else. She then told me I should not worry, the funds would be sent to the cashiering dept. I could consider the mortgage paid off. On XXXX/XXXX/16, I received a Call from Carrington trying to collect a debt. I explained the whole thing to this woman and she found all the notes pertaining to this matter in my loan file. She said she 'd pass this to her supervisor for quick action. On XXXX/XXXX/16, I received a Notice of Intent to Foreclose from Carrington. I again called them speaking to the same woman as I did the day before. She informed me she would have her supervisor call me. It is becoming clear to me now that Carrington Mortgage Services, through incompetence and/or outright criminal activities, is trying to extort additional funds from me.

Complaint: Carrington mortgage has mis applied payments to the acct # XXXX. Payments were sent to mortgage lender as agreed and they did not apply the XXXX XXXX payments timely. THE ABOVE IS AN INACCURATE ENTRY ON MY CREDIT REPORT per the Making Home Affordable ( R ) Program Handbook for Servicers of Non-GSE Mortgages, Version XXXX ; Specifically SECTION XXXX Credit Bureau Reporting : that states, '' Servicers should report a " full file '' status report to the credit reporting agencies for each loan under HAMP in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act as well as other applicable laws and credit bureau requirements as provided by the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). Complaint: Last year after XXXX got caught messing with my escrow, the CFPB helped me out and got them to make some sort of terms with XXXX. As a result of this, my mortgage was sold to Carrington Mortgage Services. This year, Carrington cleaned out my escrow again, just like XXXX and now has decided that there is a shortfall. With little notice or opportunity to put money back into my escrow, they have elevated my escrow payment to more than I am paying on principal and interest. I feel that they are trying to cause me to default or fall behind on payments with the intent of charging fees and such.

Complaint: Called to collect payment on a payment that was not due for 5 more days. The company called my place of employment to reach me prior to trying my personal number. I had not provided my work phone number. In starting the phone call they said that they need to inform me that this was an attempt to collect a debt. I am a customer/account holder for a mortgage this language is commonly used for delinquent accounts not accounts that are current.
Last month they called before payment was past due to my personal number.

Complaint: I am a victim of misleading and predatory incompetence by the servicer of my mortgage loan, Carrington Mortgage Servicing. I have NEVER missed a payment over the last 10 years on my property. For some reason in XXXX when I mailed in my payment, the check was not cashed. I mailed in XXXX and the same thing happened. I was proactive and called to find out what was the matter. No one knew for sure, but they guessed it was because the address changed and I mailed it to the old address? I STILL DO N'T KNOW FOR SURE.
I continued to follow up to solve this problem with Carrington and I was told that I need to send in a cashier 's check for {$3500.00} in order to reinstate the loan and put me back in good standing. I did this, but after Carrington received this THEY SENT IT BACK???? And now they are putting me in foreclosure??? What kind of scam is this company running? I have always made my payments, I have the money to make the payments, Carrington tells me how much I owe them, I send it in, then they send it back and file foreclosure paperwork against me. This is definitely NOT OKAY.
I have tried repeatedly to get this situation resolved, I have tried to speak to a supervisor but I have not made any progress. I am stuck in a bureaucratic hamster wheel ; no matter how many times I call to fix this I can never get a straight answer or talk to anyone who can actually fix the problem.
I need this problem resolved. I bought this home in 2006 for my children to live in ; it is currently occupied by my grandson and his son. I would like to add that I am a veteran of the United States XXXX. I served XXXX years, I worked for a government XXXX. I do volunteer work to help out with our XXXX and the XXXX XXXX. I have been an upstanding citizen and always paid my bills on time. I simply ca n't believe that due to the incompetence and misleading and predatory actions of the agents at Carrington Mortgage Services I have a house that is in foreclosure.
