Complaint: On XXXX I received a preapproved offer through XXXX XXXX for a XXXX unsecured personal loan at just over 23 % through One Main Financial. The loan would have been used to pay off credit card balances which would have improved my credit score allowing me to refinance my home. When I accepted the preapproved offer a hard inquiry went on my credit and they changed the offer to a secured loan against my autos. I let the person on the phone know my vehicles have loans and I wasn’t applying for an auto loan. The lady told me that the company charges 33-37% on unsecured personal loans. Had this been disclosed up front I would NEVER have applied. If this was somehow, someway disclosed, it was hidden at best. I believe it was outright fraud via bait and switch. I would like the inquiry removed from my credit report. I called the credit dispute of One Main and was told I could write a dispute but it would not change anything .

Complaint: Re: account number XXXXI got this loan originally in XX/XX/XXXX. I made all payments on time and then lost my job. I still struggled to pay on time until XX/XX/XXXX when i fell behind 90 days. I asked for a modification and one was granted. I paid a reduced amount and was told when the modification ended i would be brought current and would then return to pay my original amount. I did everything that was agreed upon. I set up auto pay and the funds came out of my checking account monthly. In XX/XX/XXXX i was contacted by a representative saying my account was past due even tho i was on auto pay and they had been taking payments from my checking account monthly.I asked the lady how i could be past due when i had a modification that bought me current and made all payments there after on time.She at first had no idea why i was late but all she could tell me was that i was late. After speaking to her supervisor i was told that the reason i showed up past due to was because my due date was on the 15th but my auto pay had been set up on the 20th so i was being charged interest and fees for late payment.I then advised that i set the auto pay up with a representative who told me i could pick any day to pay up to 5 days after my due date because there was a 5 day grace period and i wouldn’t be penalized.So months after paying automatically on the 20th i get a call saying well the grace period isn’t really a grace period and you are still charged late interest fees.I asked why that wasn’t communicated when i set the auto pay up. I was extremely frustrated because if they hadn’t told me there was a graven period i would have set the auto pay to come out on the day the payment was due.At that time i was told that if i made an extra payment they would bring my account current.Almost a year later XX/XX/XXXX i get another car once again saying i am past due. This time they say I owe about 400 in late fees.I explained that i pay monthly and never missed any payments after my modification. I then referenced the convo i had with their representative a year prior when i was told the whole issue was taking care of because they set me up for payments under the impression of a grace period that does not exist.During that convo i requested a break down or my payment history be sent to me. What i received was an illegible leger that a consumer can not decipher what was paid and when.The next thing i know i get an alert that my account is 30 days past due on my credit profile.I called the company and again said how is this so when i am on auto pay. They advised that my auto pay was only set up for 6 months and that XX/XX/XXXX payment never was set up to come out.Now i am beyond frustrated because i has spoken to a rep in July that never mentioned my auto pay was expiring. I now have two issues. One i want the 30 day late removed from my credit. The balance is all fees that should have never been assessed based on their representative falsely advising me of a grace period.Also i want this company investigated for unfair and deceptive business practices.It is misleading and unlawful to lie and tell a customer that there is a grace period and they can choose any date up to 5 days after their due date to pay through auto draft with out explaining to them that there’s is not really a grace period and they will be accessed late charges in the form of interest.This company already charges a 22% interest rate. They have taken advantage of consumers like me.I want this account to be removed all together. I think what they have done is illegal and dishonest to the consumer.

Complaint: I’m in over my head with this loan. I started with one loan and then was offered an opportunity to take another loan, that tacked on the balance of the first loan to the new loan and gave me a different payment amount and more total payments due. Then I received another loan offer that tacked the previous two loans onto it and gave me an even higher loan payment and extended the number of my loan payments to an even longer period. I got lost with what was actually what, became overwhelmed by the overall costs of these groups of loans, that were condensed in one larger payment, for even more months. And like a house of cards, everything became overwhelming and fell apart. I went into the office in XX/XX/XXXX and made a payment. I also arranged for a payment to be paid by pre-dated check, in XX/XX/XXXX. The XXXX payment that I arranged was taken, along with additional electronic payments (that were not authorized by me)...which in turn threw the account that these payments were debited from (my checking account) into the negative & fees incurred. Nothing was done to resolve this issue, it was deemed to be my fault because the One Main account was behind anyway, and no adjustments were made to compensate for the damage done to my checking account. I refused to allow them to debit my checking account again, which made this account even further delinquent. At some point, I no longer knew where or how to properly come to terms with One Main & stop trying & stopped responding to their attempts to contact me.Now they are threatening to sue me for payment and attorneys are constantly seeking to represent me. I have no money to give them or any of these attorneys wanting to represent me, due to other financial issues that have come as a result of attempting to fulfill my obligations to them, as well as my other obligations.That’s my dilemma.

Complaint: One Main Financial ( formerly known as Springleaf Financial ) has conveniently terminated a loan contract ( XX/XX/XXXX) that was supposed to be covered by XXXX payments through XXXX XXXX XXXX for account # XXXX. All required paperwork was completed and approved by my doctor, myself and XXXX from XX/XX/XXXXthrough XX/XX/XXXX. However, I just discovered that One Main Financial has recently decided to forfeit the contract and claimed that it expired although theyre at fault and have added frivolous and erroneous fees to the account. Furthermore, they have erroneously turned over the account to a collection agency. This will result in additional fees from the collection agency, ruin my credibility and credit report. I attempted to discuss and resolve this issue with XXXX, One Main Financial Branch Manager, however, he refused and threatened to call the police because I asked for an explanation and informed him that I intend to sue for bad business practices.

Complaint: I applied for a secured loan at One Main Financial in XXXX OK. I have previously had a loan with this company in another state and was never denied for a loan. This loan was recommended based on my credit. They first said my student loan debt was too high. I added my husband. They then denied stating my credit score is too low. This loan is supposed to be for those with low credit scores. I believed they denied me based on my race being XXXX. They also denied my son stating his income was not high enough when he also previously had a loan with this company in another state with mo problems and his income was even lower at the time. I believe there are unfair loan practices at One Main Financial in XXXX Ok and I would like to know their rate of approval for minorities. I was seeking a XXXX to XXXX dollar loan.

I have explained to her the we were going through difficult times because we had to overpay the government {$800.00} a month. We had stop making payments at one time. We worked it out, I started back making {$800.00} payments to one main even though we are still struggling. She keeps calling 3 or 4 times a day even after I made the payments. Complaint: These people are very unprofessional! First I refinanced my loan with them only getting {$100.00} out of it. When I went in that day, they had a kitten that they found outside locked in a room in the back! No food or water! Then XXXX put " optional insurance '' on my loan but didn't tell me it was optional! I had to call corporate and have them take it off. Third, on Friday XX/XX/19, XXXX XXXX called me at work! On my work phone! When I told her I needed something sent to me to show what I owe because I was about to file bankruptcy, because they never gave me any paperwork, she LAUGHED and said I couldn't file them on bankruptcy because I hadn't made my first payment. They let me skip my payment for XXXX, for " customer appreciation '' month but didnt tell me I was going to have that interest put on my first payment after I refinanced! I'm very dissatisfied with the way they do their customers and after reading other reviews about them, I'm starting not to trust them at all!

Complaint: This is the third complaint I have filed against One Main for the same issue. One Main continues to incorrectly report my account information. On or about XX/XX/XXXX, I took out a loan in the amount of {$7500.00}. From XX/XX/XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX, I made regular, on time payments to One Main for the loan. On.XX/XX/XXXX, I filed for a chapter XXXX bankruptcy. At that time, the loan was included in the bankruptcy. On or about XX/XX/XXXX, I received a discharge, and this loan was included in that discharge. One Main continues to report incorrect information regarding this loan. My first complaint with them, they continue to auto draft my account for a period of three months after the bankruptcy filing. After the complaint, they refunded the money erroneously deducted from my account, going back to XX/XX/XXXX. Then, they reported the account as charged off after the bankruptcy, and continued to report payment history. Finally, on XX/XX/XXXX, they corrected this erroneous information and agreed to report the account as follows : Balance : {$0.00} Last Payment Date : XX/XX/XXXX Payment History : Current Discharged Chapter XXXX Now, on XX/XX/XXXX, I discovered they are once again reporting this account incorrectly. Despite me making on time payments from XX/XX/XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX, they are once again reporting the account history incorrectly. They are reporting XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX as 'Failed to Pay '. This is not correct. I made on time payments during this period. They received {$300.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and {$240.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. They can't seem to get this account reported correctly, and it is negatively affecting my creditworthiness and my ability to obtain employment in my career field. My bankruptcy was due to a medical issue, not irresponsible debt management. And prior to the bankruptcy, despite having debt, my bills were all paid on time. There were no late payments. The status of this account contradicts this. Please see the attached exhibits : 1 ). Letter dated XX/XX/XXXX where One Main agreed to correct my credit bureau information. 2 ). Documentation provided to One Main on XX/XX/XXXX. Note : You will see in this packet, they were reporting the account current for the XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX payments. 3 ). Previous complaint with the CFPB regarding the reporting of the account during the bankruptcy proceedings.
