Complaint: This company has called me on multiple occasions and every time I answer it is nothing but problems. They told me I " better go ahead and pay it before they start calling my employer ''. XXXX XXXX told me he was in process of " clicking the button right now '' if I don't pay it. Later when I spoke with someone else they said my account was safe until the end of the month so XXXX was just manipulating me. They have spoken to me about my account multiple times without verifying me or reading me a mini XXXX. There are several other things that have happened but I'm sure if you listened to the recorded calls you would see a million red flags. One person told me " the law requires him to report this to my credit '' We have had multiple phone calls.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Other debt

Debt is not yours
Complaint: I wrote a dispute letter in an attempt to dispute the debt. I mailed 7 documents that contain several pages of evidence to support my dispute. I labeled each documents header page as evidence 1-8. Evidence # 1- Georgia Lease Agreement with a start date of XX/XX/XXXX and end date of XX/XX/XXXX. ( 24 pages in total ) Evidence # 2- XXXX XXXX Account/Payments statement from XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. ( 4 pages in total ) Evidence # 3- Move out Email Confirmation sent on XX/XX/XXXX. ( 1 page ) Evidence # 4- First Written Submission to terminate lease was given on XX/XX/XXXX. ( 1 page ) Evidence # 5XXXX Email confirmation of last payments to the Apartment complex. ( 1 page ) Evidence # 6- Move out Statement received via email XX/XX/XXXX. ( XXXX page ) Evidence # 7- Follow-up email from a phone conversation made to a XXXX XXXX representative in the customer care department. Email was sent XX/XX/XXXX. ( 1 page ) Evidence # 8- Email Response to the move out statement received via email, response was sent the same day, XX/XX/XXXX. ( 1 page ) All of the information I sent the company is the only information they have on my debt and attempted to send back the lease that I provided them. I am disputing the entire amount of {$230.00} that XXXX XXXX accuses me of owing and failing to pay. I do not owe {$230.00} to XXXX XXXX and never did. On XX/XX/XXXX, my lease with XXXX XXXX ended as noted by Evidence # 1 and # 6. Prior to moving out I contacted the office through writing and place them on notice that I would not be renewing my lease for another year. This notice was sent on XX/XX/XXXX which is noted in Evidence # 4. On the move-out statement it is noted that move-out notice was given on XX/XX/XXXX. Move-out notice was given well over 60 days in advance of moving out of my apartment. I lived at XXXX XXXX for exactly 2 years and I paid my rent on time foXXXX XXXX years. I was never late on any payment and I always paid all utilities on time. On XX/XX/XXXX, I paid a total of {$890.00} for my rent and utilities for the month of XXXX, see evidence # 2. For the month of XXXX I knew that my rent would be prorated because my lease ended on XX/XX/XXXX. I went into the office on XX/XX/XXXX which was a Thursday to get the correct amount of how much I needed to pay in order to satisfy my XXXX rent since it would be prorated. The representative in the office stated that my rent prorated to move-out on the XXXX of XXXX would be in the amount of {$450.00}. I went to the bank and provided a cashiers check to XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$450.00}. See evidence # 6, which shows on XX/XX/XXXX a check was received and scanned in the amount of {$450.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, I returned to the XXXX XXXX office to get a receipt of my payment and statement showing that I do not owe the apartment complex any monies. The property manager named Ms. XXXX was present and she reviewed my account and told me that I owed an additional {$74.00} because the previous XXXX XXXX agent did not calculate my prorated rent correctly. I immediately went online and paid the {$74.00} which is supported on evidence # 2 and # 6. Ms. XXXX said I was good to go and all I had to do was the inspection move out which I scheduled for XX/XX/XXXX. Yes I moved out 4 days prior to the move-out date on XX/XX/XXXX, but my rent was paid up until XX/XX/XXXX or the last day of my lease. On XX/XX/XXXX, I met with Ms. XXXX and the maintenance man and we did a complete walk through of my old apartment. They both praised me on how well the apartment look even though I lived there for 2 years. There was no damage to anything in the apartment to include the carpets, fixtures, and lights. I went back to the office with Ms. XXXX and asked for a move-out inspection and a receipt that showed that I no longer owed a balanced to the apartment complex. She stated that her computer system and printer was down. She gave me her business card which had her email on it and she promised to email me a move-out inspection sheet and receipt. The next day I sent a follow-up email to the property manager based on the email address on her business card confirming my move-out and condition of the apartment, also a request for my move-out inspection. See evidence # 3. I never received a response from Ms. XXXX, so I assumed she would eventually reach out to me. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email which included the move-out statement from the XXXX email. See evidence # 6. The statement claims I owe {$230.00}, but it does not say for what. I was charged additional charges on XX/XX/XXXX for another month of rent and I am still confused as to why because I did everything asked of me and paid all rent owed before I vacated the apartment. The additional charges are completely made up and incorrect. I made over 20 phone calls to the customer care department to tell them about their mistake and I sent numerous emails to the customer care department to rectify their mistake and I received little to no response. Please see evidence # 5, # 7, # 8. I have made numerous attempts to have the company correct this mistake and they have been unresponsive, unprofessional, and they are coming very close to violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The next communication I received was on XX/XX/XXXX, from IQ data international about collecting the debt before it was sent to my credit bureau. Each representative I spoke with has told me several different things. One said that because I moved out four days early, I was charged back rent, which does not make sense. The other representative said that I might not have given sufficient notice before moving out, which is also incorrect and false. I went to XXXX XXXX office today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) to speak with a representative and she reviewed my account and confirmed that I did not owe any rent or fees to the apartment after moving out. She directed me to contact the customer care department and the customer care department representative stated that she no longer had my file and I needed to contact XXXX. I have been sent in a circle all day and no one can give me a straight answer on where this additional charge came from which is why I know it is incorrect. The amount that XXXX XXXX claims I owe and now you are attempting to collect is incorrect and I do not owe any amount to either company. I have provided all the documents that I have to support my dispute. I am disputing the amount of {$230.00} because I do not owe this amount. XXXX XXXX representative told me that I do not owe any money to the apartment complex. She also said that I never paid my rent late, and there were no move-out fees I owed. So I am distraught that XXXX XXXX would send this account to collections. It does not make any sense that my rent would be {$850.00} a month and I would leave a {$200.00} balance knowing it would negatively affect my future efforts of buying a house. Both companies have irresponsibility caused damage to my credit. I also called the customer service department and ask to speak the compliance department. The customer service agent denied me the opportunity to speak with the compliance department. When I asked for a supervisor some male got on the phone named XXXX and he was very rude. He cut me off and, " told me to pay the debt or else! '' He then said that the debt would go on my credit report. I printed off my credit report one month before this debt was placed on my credit report and it was in the 700-720 range. Since this debt has been added my credit score is XXXX. I am in the process of trying to purchase a house and this debt has affected my interest rate and ability to move forward in that process. I want this debt removed from my credit report. The statement I included with this complaint is dated after I moved out of the apartment and I did not owe any monies. Almost a year later I magically owe {$230.00}. This is unacceptable and causing me anxiety.

Complaint: I was contacted last week about owing XXXX for breach of contract on an apartment I had just moved out of. I was very upset, since I knew for fact my contract was up. For XXXX days they called me and i told them this and told them I would get with the apartment management which I did and that I had poof that I was not in breech of contract. They tried to use scare tactics telling me about it following me on my credit and that it probably wouldn't matter what I did or said to prove it was wrong I just needed to pay it. When I finally disproved them then they told me the debt was for something else and yelled at me over the phone that it would just go on my credit. I have never been talked to so rudely and harassed for something that I know I am in the right for.

Complaint: I have had one contact with an agent named XXXX from IQ data on Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX. XXXX requested to speak with two unknown individuals and I told her she had the wrong number. She then mentioned my daughter 's name and I continued with the call. She mentioned a {$550.00} debt of which I was unaware that was incurred upon move-out of an apartment by my daughter. When I indicated we would pay the debt, once we saw written correspondence, XXXX threatened credit reporting which would damage my credit if I did not pay mmediately while on the phone with her. She asked for my employer 's name, email and other private information. I indicated that based on receiving nothing in the mail from her company that I was not prepared to pay a stranger claiming to be a debt collector or to provide any additional information. She interrupted, rattling off numerous PII items relevant to my daughter, including her entire social security number, and saying that was proof of who she said she was. I asked for the bill to be mailed to the address she already had on file. She said she needed to email me the information in order for me to handle it immediately with her on the phone, and when I tried to respond that I would pay by mail, she repeatedly talked over and interrupted me in an aggressive and loud manner, repeating threats that my credit would be damaged if I did not pay immediately by phone and noting that she was only trying to help me. I asked for her to send the information by US mail, and after almost 7 minutes on the phone she indicated the item had been mailed, two days prior on XX/XX/XXXX. I said that was fine, and as it hadn't arrived, I would look for it and pay it when it arrived. She interrupted, again, repeatedly, continuing to demand payment immediately on the phone with her or my credit would be damaged and stating that there would be no way to have the report removed, causing permanent damage to my credit. At that point I told her to stop interrupting me - which she would not do - so, I asked to speak to a supervisor. After waiting approximately four minutes, she came back to say the supervisor was not yet available. After another two, she indicated that I could leave a voice mail or escalate to another type of area leader, which would require more time on hold. I indicated that I believed this was an extension of the harassing behavior, to prevent me from talking with a supervisor, and that I was making a complaint to the CFPB and discontinuing the conversation. She began threatening me with credit reporting again, and so I said " thank you '' and terminated the call.

Debt was paid
Complaint: I began an 8 month lease with an apartment complex in XXXX, CO called XXXX XXXX at XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. It was set to expire in XX/XX/XXXX and I extended it on a short term basis twice into XX/XX/XXXX. I had numerous problems with the complex involving communication and incorrect information, but after moving out I saw that I had a final amount owed of XXXX. Despite feeling that this figure was inaccurate, I felt I needed to pay it due to the aggressive late fee structure of the complex. I did so on XX/XX/XXXX and followed up with the company. Upon doing so, I discovered I was charged for items that were false and incorrect. I was told I would be issued a check in the amount of {$160.00}, which has been withheld. Instead, the company created a collection on my credit in the amount of my final rent, which as I stated was paid on XX/XX/XXXX. My bank records will reflect that. The company does not issue receipts they indicate they will, does not return phone calls as promised, and has now falsely reported items on my credit. This is dishonest and abusive behavior and has taken months to monitor and is further from a solution than it began.

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account information incorrect
Complaint: In XXXX, 2018, I was contacted by IQ DATA via telephone, regarding an account, about which I had no knowledge. I immediately informed them that the account must be a mistake or error and requested that they verify the validity/origin of the debt. Initially, the operator I spoke with couldn't tell me much about the alleged debt, except the original source - XXXX XXXX XXXX. I explained that not only did I not owe promenade towers anything, but I actually never got my deposit back from them when I previously moved out of my apartment, so if anything, they owe me some money. I said this in a phone call they recorded the very first time I was contacted by them. The operator went over after-move-out charges with me, that totaled less than my security deposit and when I pointed out that this might've been where the arithmetic error occurred ( perhaps turning a negative number to positive, I'm not sure ). I was informed that " there must be more charges somewhere. '' Well, I again asked that they verify and validate that in writing with me. I sent my request in writing and what I received back from IQ data was merely a copy of the document acknowledging that I do not owe any money. Rather, I am owed money. This math has been stated by IQ DATA, and confirmed in writing by their own documentation, which I have included here. Yet they are still saying that I owe them money. Again, individual operators have admitted to me that the math doesnt add up, but they still continued on with saying that I owe money. Page 2 of the attached document that I received from IQ Data shows my security deposit in the amount of {$530.00}, and after-move-out charges in the amount of {$63.00} for countertop replacement, {$48.00} for painting and {$200.00} for rent ( {$310.00} total ), I am owed {$210.00}. I have twice pointed this out to IQ Data and have not heard anything from them in months. It has been far longer than thirty days and they have failed to verify or validate that I owe them any debt, which they are required to do according to the FCRA. They have instead demonstrated and admitted on multiple occasions that I am owed {$210.00}. Therefore, this account is fraudulent and should not be on my credit report and I ask that it be removed immediately.

Took or threatened to take negative or legal action

Debt collection: Other debt

Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged
Complaint: I moved out of my rented apartment on XX/XX/2019. Community name XXXX at XXXX XXXX, XXXX, TX XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, Texas XXXX I had paid out my months rent of {$200.00} in the renters portal for period XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. Since I had terminated my lease early, I was required to pay the rent for the remaining period till it is let out. The apartment was listed available from XX/XX/XXXX because they would clean the apartment and make it move-in ready. When I had gone to surrender my keys on XX/XX/XXXX ( since office closed at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX ) I got to know that a new application was received for my apartment and the tenant is expected to move-in on XX/XX/XXXX. Felt relieved since I would not have to pay for a vacant unoccupied apartment waiting for renter. Since we didnt receive any final settlement letter from my community, my wife dropped an email to the leasing office on XX/XX/XXXX enquiring any move out charge. We had a deposit of {$250.00} which we were expecting to get back or settled with move out charge ( if any ). There was no response from the community email account. Few days later on XX/XX/2019 I received a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX management company ) dated XX/XX/XXXX stating that I owe an amount of {$740.00} to XXXX XXXX. The timing of the letter makes me feel they woke up and send the charges to me after we enquired. Maybe my bad, I was a good resident and asked them on any move out charges so that everything is settled. I should have stayed silent and let them sit on it. Anyways, they considered rent of {$450.00} for XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX, pending utilities - {$130.00}, move out readiness of apartment including cleaning - {$400.00} and adjusted my security deposit of {$250.00}. It stated in bold and underline that it was not a collections letter. I should send a check of the amount within 10 days of receipt to the address of IQ Data International Inc., Attn Accounts Receivable. XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, WA XXXX. Please contact IQ data international Inc. immediately at XXXX as soon as possible if you have any issues to prevent collections activity. And any unpaid amount would be reported in our credit history and would affect our credit score. Since the amounts were inordinately high I decided to call the community management and discuss the line items and ask for a reduction in the charges. - I had maintained my apartment pretty well. Carpet didnt require a replacement even after 4 years of occupancy. After 5years of occupancy they normally write off the carpet and put in a new one. It required a basic cleaning which is expected of any community to do before listing the property. If they dont want to spend this much on their owned properties, they might as well ask the renters to clean and stage the apartments and showcase the apartment and get the new renter as well. - Since there was no technical delay in getting the new renter, I was expecting the community not to charge me for the period XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. That as the basic period of move out cleaning which they would have done even if I moved at the end of the lease. - Only amount payable from my end should have been my utility bill of {$130.00} which when adjusted with my security deposit of {$250.00}, I should have still received {$110.00} I talked to the property manager on XX/XX/XXXX and informed her about my opinion. She assured me that she would check with corporate and seek if any deduction is possible or not. I did inform her that I was running against a timeline of 10 days to clear the payment to prevent it from going to collections. Post that me and my wife followed up with her on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX seeking a response if she has heard from corporate. She responded on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX that she has informed corporate and waiting on a response. She responded back on XX/XX/XXXX that corporate didnt consider adjusting any charge. Meanwhile, I received a Collections letter dated XX/XX/2019 from IQ data international on XX/XX/XXXX stating that I owe a debt and I should inform within 30 days in writing if I dispute the debt. Seeing the letter, I was surprised that - IQ Data international didnt even wait for 10 days before sending a collections letter to the consumer. Even if the original letter date of XX/XX/XXXX was considered, they sent out the letter on XX/XX/XXXX ( 5 days )!! and if I considered my letter receipt date of XX/XX/XXXX, I didnt get 10 days to pay the due collections letter was sent on XX/XX/XXXX itself ( 0 days ) and I received on XX/XX/XXXX ( 7 days ). The company didnt even wait to give the consumer to send the money but went ahead sending a collections letter threatening them with negative action. The amount of stress which is caused to consumer on receipt of a collections letter is not taken into account by these companies who just want to clear of $ line items from their receivables book and move onto the next account / phone number /address to harass. - XXXX corporate office XXXX XXXX XXXX just waited for 13 days to confirm they wouldnt adjust charges while they gave the consumer 10 days to send the payment. So in a way they work hand in gloves with the collections agency to harass the consumer by delaying response and allowing the collections agency to send out harassing collections letters. The apartment community and their collection agency seem to be having the strategy to use the move out of tenants as an opportunity to make money using unjustified cost items and threatening them with credit impairment language to coerce money out. According to my calculation, I should be owing only the utility bill of {$130.00} to XXXX / XXXX XXXX XXXX / IQ Data International which when adjusted with my security deposit of {$250.00}, I should be receiving {$110.00} from XXXX / XXXX XXXX XXXX / IQ Data International Inc. I'm expecting XXXX XXXX XXXX or IQ Data International Inc. to send me the check of the amount due to me within 30 days.

Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Difficulty submitting a dispute or getting information about a dispute over the phone
Complaint: What is the complaint about? This complaint involves I.Q. Data International, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Arizona failure to accommodate my dependent sons XXXX after emergency XXXX and grant eligibility for early termination of lease contract. No accommodations were offered for a ground floor apartment after the XXXX and my XXXX son was no longer safely able to live on the upper apartment floor. There was a failure to recognize a 30-day early termination request following the American Disabilities Act as well as a failure to communicate with the tenant regarding accommodations for this emergency on going situation. There was a failure to honor the thirty-day request for information for dispute of final billing after receiving notification from I.Q. Data International. There was a failure to provide the requested information from XXXX XXXX and I.Q. Data international regarding the dispute. What type of problem am I having? The problem I am having is XXXX XXXX failure to respond to the request for re-evaluation of final bill to include unlawful charges, unlawful taxation, misrepresenting the date for request for vacating the apartment and request for waiver of early termination of the lease fees and misrepresenting the actual stated departure date. When the collection department finally responded it failed to accurately represent my security deposit of {$200.00} and instead XXXX XXXX indicated {$140.00}. There is a list of taxes that have no basis. There is a rental charge for {$77.00} with no basis. I had paid all rental charges until XX/XX/XXXX ( moved out date of XX/XX/XXXX ) and have the cashed check from XXXX XXXX. Once the early termination feel is in place there can not be additional rental charges applied. Tax was also applied to the early termination fee. The tax on that fee is a corporate capital gains and not the burden of the tenant. Rather than respond to my multiple attempts to resolve this issue with XXXX XXXX this final bill was sent directly to collections bypassing the stated thirty-day response period allowing the addressee to contest the amount of the final bill. Within eleven days of sending the initial letter XX/XX/XXXX stating I had thirty days to contest the bill another letter was sent XX/XX/XXXX ( received XX/XX/XXXX ) stating it had already been sent to collections. I had responded to the initial letter upon receipt with both certified and regular mail on XX/XX/XXXX and received return receipt confirmation XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX or I.Q. Data International has addressed none of my requests for information. The only written communication from XXXX XXXX has been the I.Q. Data International debt collection letters and confirmation signed return receipts for mail I had sent. I finally received a response from I.Q. data only to send a copy of the final bill and a page of the contract both of which I have. No corporate contact and no corporate lawyer information was included. No mention of my request for arbitration. I again sent a letter to I.Q. Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Other debt

Debt is not yours
Complaint: This company has sent me documents of debt and I have never done anything with this company. They have reported the debt as a joint account however I asked for documentation and all I got back was a letter with an electronic signature of only mine as well as the name of contact that was only my name.I asked for any docs they may have as proof as well for the debt and they dont have anything except for an electronically signed doc. This needs to be removed I have asked for multiple things to be provided and they have not been able to deliver anything.

Took or threatened to take negative or legal action

Debt collection: Other debt

Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged
Complaint: Apparently we had a debt with an apartment complex that we were not notified of until it was sent to a collection agency. They called my husband at his place of work harassing him to pay the full amount right that second or our credit would be destroyed and we'd never be able to move into a house or get credit cards, etc. They were very rude and mean. My husband told them that he was at work and would call back later but they said if he hung up that would mean they are going to be taking action against us. I called them back myself asking to set up some kind of payment but they told me I had to pay it all right that second and they would not accept anything else. When I told them I didn't have any money at the moment they said I have to take out a loan or they are going to destroy my credit. We tried one more call to set up payment but they flat out refused and sent the debt off so that it would appear on our credit reports. I have tried to get it taken off but it seems impossible and I don't think it's fair ( or legal ) that they literally would not accept any payment or allow us to resolve the issue instead they used scare tactics and threats.
