Debt collection: I do not know

They further claim that an initial collection letter was sent to me on XX/XX/XXXX of which I was never notified. They state that verification of the debt was mailed to me on XX/XX/XXXX. Nonetheless, on XX/XX/XXXX I sent a letter requesting that Hunter Warfield Validate not verify the validity of the alleged debt, including providing the following : The agreement with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that grants them the authority to collect on this alleged debt. Agreement that bears my alleged signature wherein I agreed to pay the creditor. Any insurance claims that have been made by any creditor regarding this account. Any Judgments obtained by any creditor regarding this account. Name and address of alleged creditor. Name on file of alleged debtor. Alleged account number. Address on file for alleged debtor. Amount of alleged debt. Date this alleged debt became payable. Date of original charge off or delinquency. Verification that this debt was assigned or sold to collector. Complete accounting of alleged debt. Commission for debt collector if collection efforts are successful. I did not request verification but validation with my wet signature. Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Other debt

Debt was result of identity theft
Complaint: Hunter Warfield has not complied with the law to give me a remedy regarding a debt that I asked for validation on or about XX/XX/XXXX. I sent a letter, via certified mail return receipt, explaining to the company that I did not recognize the debt being reported to the credit reporting agencies, as I am a victim of ID theft. I confirmed with the post office that my letter was signed for. However, I never received the return receipt confirmation from Hunter Warfield. I waited for debt validation for over 45 days and never received the validation. After the 45 days, I filed an ID theft report with the FTC and all 3 credit reporting agencies. Additionally, I sent a second letter to Hunter Warfield explaining to the company that it failed to validate the debt of XXXX XXXX, and how it was a debt resulting from ID theft ; therefore, I am requesting it be removed and blocked from my credit file. As of today, XX/XX/XXXX, the debt is still reporting with a limit increase ; however, I finally received a letter from Hunter Warfield at the end of XXXX stating they would not continue collections on this account until a investigation was complete within 30 days. My issue with this investigation is that Hunter Warfield is attempting to shift the burden of proof of my ID theft to me, victimizing me a second time, as if, I committed the crime of ID theft. The company failed to address any of the questions I asked in my debt validation letter. Additionally, it did not give me due process at law when they ignored my first attempt to address the validation of debt. This process is all new to me, and I did not know that I had all of the remedies in law to protect myself against ID theft or fraud to my credit. Thus, I have experienced many credit fraud since about XXXX. Maybe I did not express my letters according to an attorney ; however, that does not give Hunter Warfield the right to ignore mail, as consumers are protected by the United States Post Office. I am spending a lot of money for postage to address my ID theft issues ; therefore, I expect due process.

Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Problem with personal statement of dispute
Complaint: In approximately XX/XX/XXXX, I moved into an apartment at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, FL. There were two prior tenants leasing the apartment. One of the tenants was moving out of the apartment. I agreed to sign the lease as a new co-leaser. The other co-leaser was then taken off of the lease. I was going through a divorce at the time and I was looking to move quick. I did not inspect the apartment before moving in. When I moved in, there was pre-existing damage and maintenance issues with the apartment. In early XX/XX/XXXX, my co-leaser lost his job. He was unable to pay his half of the rent and utilities as a result. I was unable to pay my co-leaser 's half of the rent and utilities for him and the leasing office would not accept partial payments for rent. Unfortunately, the end result was an eviction. After the eviction, I received an invoice indicating that the final amount owed by me and the co-leasor was approximately {$5000.00}. I informed the leasing office that I agreed to pay the past due rent, past due utilities, and the eviction fee. I offered to make payment arrangements for the amount that I owed. The leasing office refused to cooperate. They would not remove any of the charges accredited to me. The additional charges should have been accredited to my co-leaser and the prior co-leaser. The leasing office sold the debt to a third party collections agency called Hunter Warfield out of XXXX, FL. Hunter Warfield unlawfully began charging interest on the debt. Hunter Warfield did not disclose the interest to me up front as required. I never agreed to interest. Furthermore the debt was never associated with a loan, credit card, bank account, or other financial product. The original credit did not assess interest to the debt in question either. Furthermore, I sent an electronic written dispute to Hunter Warfield pertaining to the incorrect balance through their company web site. I received confirmation that Hunter Warfield received the dispute. Hunter Warfield never followed up with me pertaining to their investigative findings as required by the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. I attempted to make a partial payment online and via automated phone. Both methods would not allow me to submit a partial payment. I called Hunter Warfield after no success. I spoke with two different collections agents via phone at Hunter Warfield. I explained my debt balance dispute to both agents and made a good faith payment attempt with both agents for a partial payments towards the balance. Both agents demanded the total amount due and informed me that they do not have to accept any partial payments. In formed the agents that I am trying to pay what I owe and I do not have the total amount of the debt in my bank account so I am trying to pay what I can. Hunter Warfield, despite my good faith efforts has reported that I am in default on the debt to the credit bureaus. I am only in default because Hunter Warfield will not cooperate and allow me to make any payments towards the debt. After being unable resolve anything with Hunter Warfield, I sent another follow up dispute via e-mail to the leasing office at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I have received no response to date from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX pertaining to the written dispute that I sent them. Neither the Original Creditor or the Collections Agency are communicating, cooperating, investigating, or doing anything to resolve the debt with me.

Debt was result of identity theft
Complaint: I am writing to file a complaint against Hunter Warfield Collection Agency who has failed to investigate a fraudulent account before adding it to my credit reports. I have disputed this account at least 5 times with no changes. They have added an account to all ( 3 ) credit bureaus and even after sending proof of police reports and identity theft via fax, email and certified mail, they have failed to remove them from my credit reports. This account it totaling over {$10000.00} in apartment damages. I have been a victim of identity theft since XXXX when someone used my identity to file a fraudulent income tax. I have also lost a wallet containing all of my personal information back in XXXX which seems to have resulted in the tax identity theft. Due to all of this, I have been forced to file bankruptcy twice the past 5 years due to items showing on my credit report. I am requesting that this agency investigate this matter and correct this as soon as possible as ASAP as this is hurting my ability to obtain employment and/or maintain a good credit history.

Debt is not yours
Complaint: I lived at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Apartment complex. During the move out procedure, my roommates and I paid them for the move-out package, which would be completed after move out, and which contained a professional carpet cleaning. After moving out, we were told the carpet had been replaced as it was dirty and we would need to pay the replacement cost. We were told this after the fact it all happened. We asked if the carpet had been professionally cleaned, as we had paid for that service, and they informed us it had not been cleaned. We asked why we had not been notified and they could not provide an answer. They still demanded we pay them that amount of the carpet. We refused as they had not completed the service they had agreed to, and for which we paid. After a month, the company that owns XXXX ( XXXX ) sent the debt to collections. At that time, we requested that the debt collector ( XXXX XXXX ) verify the debt - that XXXX had cleaned the carpet and shown the carpet displayed dirtiness beyond normal wear and tear for the duration of the lease which would require it to be replaced, and for us to owe money - per North Carolina regulations. XXXX XXXX did not fully respond to debt verification before contacting my and one of my roommates credit agencies. At this time, we have not yet received a complete debt verification answer from XXXX XXXX, now ~6 months after the initial request.

Complaint: After living in this apartment for 12 years, we were sent a letter asking us to move due to remodel ( see pg 1 ). We were never given the option of a walk through to identify anything that we could correct before having it deducted from our deposit of {$700.00}. Landlord conducted a walk through after new tenants had been living in unit He has kept our entire deposit plus asked us to pay another {$900.00}. He has called us liars and insulted our intelligence as you can see in his email. we asked to see receipts but were denied. except for the one for carpet. He wanted us to pay for carpet but pg. 8 of the lease states we can not be charged for carpet after so many years, so instead he is charging us for the recycling of old carpet and padding and installation of the new carpet this is how he has worked his way around it. He claims we damaged appliances and that they werent clean enough, this is after 12 years of use, they are going to have wear, plus they are the same appliances that were left for the new tenants, so they couldnt have been too damaged. he would not produce a receipt for the extra cleaning. We received a letter on XX/XX/XXXX stating we had 10 days to pay or we would be turned over to collections, on XX/XX/XXXX we received a statement from a collection agency. we had just moved out on XX/XX/XXXX. we are being charged twice for utilities, and late for supposedly over 10 mos. ago. He has ruined our hard earned credit standing, it dropped 40 points. which he had threatened to do to make it difficult for us to find a new place to live Please see his email to us dated XX/XX/XXXX, very intimidating and threatening. We tried mediation, but we received very little cooperation. I am willing to pay {$75.00} each for 3 closet doors, since he will not get us receipt i think that is fair. The handle on the refrigerator was missing when we received it. it had come from another apartment that way, it was replacing the one we had because it was broken when we moved it. I feel I am entitled to my deposit minus the {$220.00} for closet doors, I expect him to correct what he has done to our credit and be held monetarily responsible. We have worked hard to keep our credit in good standing, he had no right to damage it for his satisfaction. I would really appreciate your help on this matter. we have been denied what should have been rightfully by law offered to us, our credit is ruined, and he has kept our funds.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt was result of identity theft
Complaint: I have filed a complaint against XXXX XXXX XXXX that alleges the company, which operates as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, charges improper and excessive termination fees for leases of point of sale ( POS ) equipment, such as payment terminals, card readers and mobile payment devices. We mailed this company many times to explain that a collection is impossible and we explained the collector can not seek a reimbursement from XXXX XXXX stemming from the profits reaped by the company from subjecting merchants to complex agreements involving several parties just to lease a POS terminal which could simply be purchased for less than {$200.00}. The only existing contract was signed with XXXX. This XXXX document is identified with a number. This document doesnt make any reference to XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX present a new Document with a reference to XXXX XXXX. This document was completed after signature. I claim that XXXX XXXX pushes merchants to lease payment equipment from XXXX XXXX upon entering into payment processing agreements with financial institutions, who serve as the companys agents in POS leasing transactions. XXXX XXXX allegedly tricks merchant customers into spending thousands of dollars leasing payment equipment that can be purchased outright for less than {$200.00}. I this case XXXXXXXX XXXX allege a binding merchants to years-long agreements that do not allow for the cancellation of the lease of POS terminals. I didnt signed any leasing agreements with XXXX XXXX. The material ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) was returned as soon as it was received. The merchant service XXXX was informed more than a year ago that the contract was breached. XXXX XXXX as well was informed a year ago. XXXX XXXX includes a alleged a non-cancelable agreement clause within its form contract. We never signed the contract neither any affiliates Program Guide. We never signed an insurance for a non existant material. We never signed for any delivery of material from XXXX XXXX or anyone else. The collection company attempt to maximize profit for XXXX XXXX regardless of the circumstances and the documents provided. In fact, there is a class action for the same reason against XXXX XXXX claiming that the contract can not be canceled without the customer paying all remaining sums due for the full term of the lease agreement, even if XXXX XXXX fails to perform its obligations under the contract.

Complaint: I've been working with XXXX regarding a " Debt ''. I haven't been dodging his calls we've spoke and unfortunately had a miscommunication with the settlement amount. I was ready to settled as I thought we had agreed to a certain amount to settle and when i received the letter with the settlement amount it was different than what we discussed. he said he was unable to make a change to the settlement amount and i understood there was only so much he could do, so i asked him if he could have his manager call me back.. His manager called me back and I'm shocked at the absolutely disrespect from this guy. I understand being is this business is hard, but there is no excuse for his behavior, it was the job he agreed to take, however the level of disrespect and the tough guy act was not what I was interested in what so ever and I hung up on him, I will never be disrespected by someone like that. I'm looking to settle today and someone with some common sense and a level of respect for a person not trying to dodge them and actually take care of a balance with a reasonable offer, can call or email me and we can get this done I recently found out that this collection agency has had my account since XX/XX/XXXX I have the legal right to be notified in writing prior to my account being reported to my credit report. Hunter warfield has continued to threaten me about reporting an account that they have not provided me an opportunity to dispute or be properly notified in writing.
