Dealing with my lender or servicer

Student loan: Federal student loan servicing

Received bad information about my loan
Complaint: ACS changed my Lender without letting me know or giving me the option to switch to someone else, which I 'm not happy about. Also, they stopped having me pay a monthly amount, which is super sneaky. Since I 'm not be billed to pay monthly, which I prefer, they skip over MANY months, causing me to accrue LOTS of interest.Let your borrows be aware that if they do n't make a monthly payment that interest will be accrued instead of making it look like the are " current '' in their payment! I have to be vidulent to make sure I send myself a personal reminder to pay monthly, so I 'm not adding all this interest to my account even though it may say I 'm " current ''. That is a sneaky and dirty way to make money off people. Absolutely disgusted!

Student loan: Federal student loan servicing

Need information about my balance/terms
Complaint: I was told by a ACS/lender I had a loan from the institution I never attended. The name of the school was XXXX. When I did more research on this school it has been closed since 1997 for defrauding consumers by authorities. There was also settlement reached on 1997. My lender is not cancelling this loan rather they are adding interest to the principal and forced me to pay it. I am paying this loan {$11000.00}, because I do not want my credit to be spoiled. I feel this unfair practice. Please advise me how to resolve this issue.

Dealing with my lender or servicer

Student loan: Federal student loan servicing

Need information about my balance/terms
Complaint: I have a FFELP Consolidation loan that was originally serviced by XXXX ( I think- it could have had another servicer before that but neither Navient nor ACS will give me a complete accounting or chain of ownership of the loan ) and is now serviced by ACS Education . I have been current for many years, paying as much as I possibly can, and the principle balance has not even budged! At one point I went into forbearance when I lost my job in 2009 and then when I got a new job making much less money, I offered to pay them half of the monthly payment and they said NO, it 's all or nothing. Flash forward a year or so and I began again making the monthly payments. My loan balance BALLOONED from the time XXXX sold it to ACS. I believe there may have been a prepayment penalty that I am now funding because ACS wanted to buy the portfolio. They also arbitrarily apply my payments to principal and interest- the last time they applied any amount to principal was 4 months ago and there is no rhyme or reason why. I never received a repayment schedule from them which is in derogation of Part 682 of the CFR. They REFUSE to give me an accurate and complete accounting of the entire loan from start to finish or a copy of the Promissory Note and assignment documents despite my repeated attempts to collect the same from them. I stopped calling them a while ago because the answer is always no. I am now XXXX years old and ca n't qualify for a home mortgage because of this debt. They also wo n't remove the delinquencies from my credit report despite the fact that they are false. I pay lexington law to send them letters and they never respond. At this rate I will be paying this debt forever until I die and the principal balance will still be what it is today. This is unfair. Just like a mortgage lender they should have the obligation under the law to produce all of the records to show me why I owe DOUBLE the amount of my original loan!!!!!!

ME

Dealing with my lender or servicer

Student loan: Non-federal student loan

Having problems with customer service
Complaint: ACS I believe they are a total fraudulent scam of loan service providers if they truly are. They are supposedly servicing my loan from XXXX in XXXX, MA. I have had a few dealings with them since XXXX. They always tell me my address and/or phone number is incorrect. That they have corresponding with me consistently over the course of time by postal mail and e-mail. They also have my mother 's contact information This is not true. I have n't received anything from them except right after I left school and once about a year ago. Since then neither of us has received anything. I instantly received something about a year ago that I was going to have a payment due. I supposedly got a deferment from them from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX. I have called them numerous times over this years time for documentation of some kind and information over the phone but I 'm always given the run around because I always speak to a different person who has no idea what they are doing or anything about my loan except an overdue balance with interest and late fees attached. They informed me over and over again that it is my responsibility that I owe it whether I received any correspondence or documentation from them at all. All of a sudden I get correspondence from them twice after contacting them these last few months and weeks. I have ask numerous times for paperwork to allow my mom to speak on my behalf and they said they have sent it but I 've never received anything. My interest rate is an astonishing 10 % interest rate and I have been told they can do nothing to accommodate me with my loan. I just need to pay the amount due. My recent correspondence states that I am over due by almost 2 months. The next one I received says I 'm only over due a few days. I have been told that I can not consolidate or transfer to a different company. The last two weeks they have called my personal phone numerous times a day 7 days a week while I 'm working. Numerous times I asked for paperwork to defer my loan again to no avail. I believe this company needs to be fully investigated for fraud and scamming individuals financially. The people are very rude and unhelpful. I believe they have purposely misled me and have hung up on me numerous times when I have called asking questions concerning my account and they ca n't answer the questions I ask except with a scripted answer for everything with no concrete answer. Supposedly from what I have read online sometime in XXXX school loans were transferred from this supposed XXXX loan servicer if they are one to other companies so why do I still have them as a true servicer of my loan. Numerous people have submitted complaints about these people and I believe that they should be held accountable to all the financial practice laws. I have recently filed a identity theft report with the Federal Trade Commission about this company. This company has many many different phone numbers and addresses with which to contact them.

Dealing with my lender or servicer

Student loan: Non-federal student loan

Received bad information about my loan
Complaint: I have XXXX loan accounts with ACS-Education ( www.acs-education.com ). The relevant account for this complaint is my " XXXX '' loan with ACS. On XXXX XXXX, 2016, ACS delivered a monthly paper bill to my home requesting payment in the amount of {$57.00} due by XXXX/XXXX/16. On or about XXXX/XXXX/16 I sent payment of {$57.00} to ACS through my bank account 's e-bill payment system. ACS accepted the payment and deposited my check. On XXXX/XXXX/16, I signed into my online account at www.acs-education.com and noticed that ACS marked my account as " In Repayment, 6 days past due. '' Confused as to why ACS considered my account past due because I paid the amount ACS requested on their bill, I called ACS 's collection department on XXXX/XXXX/16 at XXXX, XXXX. A pleasant female read to me the mini-Miranda rights under the FDCPA and then attempted to get me to pay a past due amount of {$1.00}. I asked for an explanation because I had paid the amount demanded in ACS 's last bill. The ACS employee advised me that my interest rate is variable and that it was recently raised. In fact, she said that my interest rate was raised one day after the XXXX/XXXX/16 bill was delivered. ACS did not send a revised bill to reflect a different amount due. The ACS employee claimed that ACS sent me a notice explaining that the interest rate had changed. I deny receiving same. I asked for a copy but was denied a copy. Instead, the ACS employee offered to email me an account statement which is a new document showing the status " 6 days past due. '' I asked the ACS employee if she can understand my confusion as a consumer over why I am past due despite the fact that I have paid every amount requested by ACS bills. The employee remarked that she is making a note of my comments without attempting to explain the lack of a revised bill. As a consumer, I am completely confused on how ACS adjusts the interest rates on my account. I am also confused on how ACS can label my account " past due '' despite not sending me a bill for the deficiency. I am also displeased with the inability or unwillingness of the ACS collection department employee to provide me copies of recent documents or to issue a new bill. As a consumer, I believe it is imperative that ACS revises its policy on declaring an account " past due. '' First, ACS must explain why it does not send a new bill after ACS changes the terms of the loan. In fact, my next payment is not due until XXXX/XXXX/16. I assume the next bill I receive in the mail will show the past due amount from XXXX ( although previously never billed for ) plus new monthly charges for XXXX. I am concerned that ACS will treat me with hostility as a delinquent debtor although I was never informed of my past due status but for my random logging into my online ACS account. I am concerned that the terms of the my original loan include an incentive of interest rate deduction if I maintain a current account throughout the live of repayment. I am concerned that ACS will report negatively to the credit bureaus that I have a past due account for the relevant month ( s ). I believe that ACS has failed to communicate the proper amount due. ACS has issued conflicting statements of what amount is due. ACS is penalizing me for their failures to communicate. In short, ACS issued a bill which I paid on time ; without my knowledge, ACS amended my bill although never informed me that a larger amount was due ; ACS now marks my account and credit as " past due '' ; and not for my random auditing of my online ACS account, I would not have known I was past due until, who knows, next month, when ACS might take other actions against me including late fees, negative credit reporting, and so forth. I asked the ACS employee what more I can do to better understand my account or to get more information about this issue. That ACS employee invited me to file this complaint. I want a full investigation of ACS.

Can't repay my loan

Student loan: Federal student loan servicing

Can't decrease my monthly payments
Complaint: For almost a year, I have been filling our paperwork sending in information on getting an IBR payment plan. For the last 6 months, I either did not receive any notice of denial or when my denial came it was little things that they did not find in the previous applications. For instance, they denied my one application because my husband did not sign it ... but he actually did. However, they did not contact me until after the 30 day time frame so I had to resubmit. Then they denied it again because I checked an extra box, but they did not tell me that was the issue the first 3 times I submitted. After resubmitting the last time a month ago, I have not heard anything from them except to demand the loan in full. I have sent all my paperwork in over and over again and still they refuse to work with me and each person tells me something different. Even with a third party on the line trying to help ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). At one point I asked them to verify the date they mailed off the letter I am defaulting on loans that I want to pay, just at a lower rate. Unfortunately, they made the process so tedious and difficult that it has made dealing with loan harder than it should be. Even after the letter demanding the full amount of the loan I get an email saying my forbearance is excepted. I honestly do not know what to do any more.

Complaint: I am trying to contact ACS Education Services about deferring my loans while I am on a XXXX XXXX. I believe my campus based loans were Perkins loans, but I need to verify that and where to send the forms. Over the last month, I have sent two emails that went unanswered. Today I tried twice to call and stayed on hold for 30 minutes or more each time. There is no estimate of how long the phone hold will be. Having problems with customer service
Complaint: I have been trying to consolidate multiple of my student loans into XXXX loan. All were accepted aside from ACS Education Services. I was told that the release of the loan was not accepted due to the fact that ACS was " reviewing '' my loan for the most updated information and fees applied. I was also told that the loan would be released once the " process '' was completed - this was XXXX 2016. Months later, I submitted a XXXX request to push things forward. I am being told that things are on hold yet again for the same reasons - XXXX 2016. My request to speak with a manager was denied and I have no other way or options of pushing things forward before the deadline to add loans.

Received bad information about my loan
Complaint: I have XXXX loans that are currently serviced by ACS ( at total nightmare ). Those XXXX loans are the only loans that I have that I simply can do nothing with. ACS is claiming that my loans were defaulted because they were past due 270 days. No one contacted me or sent any information of such. I have worked with XXXX and worked out a loan consolidation in which I could not even include the XXXX ACS loans. Furthermore, ACS claims that the loans are " permanently uninsured '' in which they have been reporting to the credit bureaus for over a year and it is having a major affect on my credit. On the National Student Loan Database, the loans are showing temporarily uninsured in which ACS is claiming that XXXX ( guarantor ) has not updated the system correctly. I spoke with a representative at XXXX and she advised that my loans were showing a " temporary uninsured '' status since 2015 and was unsure as to why ACS is claiming it is permanently uninsured since the information would be coming directly from XXXX. Also, if my loans are in a " permanently uninsured '' status, ACS should not be reporting to the credit bureau.
